Yeah, I know what you mean, Tuffty. Yuma, in particular, seems way too 'nice' to be in AV. On the show, she never behaved in a 'porn star-ish' way. (That was always Kasumi Koho's job ) You look at those big, soft brown eyes of Yuma's and you would think she had spent her life looking after abandoned puppies, or something similar. I would have thought you have to be a pretty tough cookie to survive in a business like the AV industry. Yuma just seems way too nice (I can't think of a better word).

There are Muscats who I'm pretty sure are a lot tougher than they seem. They must be to have gotten to the top in a very competitive business.

It seems that even after the dissolution of the group, the members still find time to get together and take some great photos.  Actually, I gonna admit right now that I'm going through a "can't unsee" type thing where one of the HKT48 members actually looks kinda like Yuma.

Someone on HKT48 looks like Asami Yuma?!
Kinda odd considering HKT48 consists of a bunch of lolis and Sasshi :?

Speaking of lolis...

looks like Rina has something to do now besides AV.
DJ Rukawa has a nice ring to it lol

There is a video on Youtube titled: 東京MTV:店舗紹介, which might explain what Minori and Amami are doing. This 東京MTV looks like a kind of AV internet cafe. You rent AV DVDs, go into a private room and - errr - 'enjoy' watching the DVD(s). Could be that they're opening one in Taiwan.

In the comments section of the Youtube video, a guy asks:"Is it possible for two or more guys in one room?"

First of all, I missed Rina's birthday for 2 days late and Mui's for 1 day late
Happy birthday for those two

Best wishes for them  :twothumbs

And the second is, I just realized that Tsubasa is so freaking cute
I mean, she was going in and out of the club so fast, I didn't even pay much attention on her, I didn't even know which episode she was coming in or whether she took a role in a PV or not.  :nervous
And I wonder whether the girl at 00:09 on initial's video is her or not.  :inlove:

Tsubasa could have been a good member, potentially a very great one as she's so anti-idol in her mannerisms. Sadly though, her anti-idol attiude crossed over into her commitments with the Muscats. I think a few Muscat members, can't remember who, did a radio show where they were quite blunt about Tsubasa. She didn't take to the role at all, apparently. Showing up late for recordings and dance rehearsals and just not putting the effort in. Yuma even volunteered to stay behind and give her extra dance lessons but Tsubasa didn't even show up for those too, which everyone involved with the Muscats saw as just a lack of respect so she had to go. Shame really.

Happy Birthday Rina and Mui. I forgot Rina shares the same birthday as me. Well, kinda, she was born in 1991, me in 1988, but it's the same date at least. Hard to imagine she's 23 when you look at her.

Yeah, that is Tsubasa at 00:09, remy_R...well spotted.

If I'm reading Tsubasa's Wikipedia page right, she was in Onedari DX for just a month or two (I think the Wikipedia page says April to May 2011). Mashiro An joined about the same time, and lasted just about as long.

Watching the show, you get the feeling people like Yuma, Rio, Aki, and Aino were giving it 100%.  Some of the other girls not so much, perhaps because they just didn't have the personality for it.

If I know Japan, no matter how cute a girl is, if she started giving the production staff 'attitude', she was never going to last very long. And if a 'senpai' offers to help you, and you blow her off, you're out the door.

If the Muscats were to reform, and seeing that might need some new Muscats, anybody got girls they would would like to recommend? I'd nominate Nana Ogura. Holy s##t! that girl has a smile that could light up half of Tokyo!

Well...happy belated birthday to my two Muscats oshimen! 8) Happy belated birthday to Tuffty as well!

Oh good lord we're formulating new Muscats...the list can go on forever :panic:
But I can name a few AV/gravure idols who can make it on the Muscats: Tsuruta Kana, Serizawa Tsumugi, Hasegawa Shizuku, Yumeno Aika, Mizuki Uruha, Kato Rina, Hoshino Asuka, Aisu Cocoa, etc.

If anything I'd have Rukawa Rina as captain. She'd make a good captain.

Hey, L4verra, I googled Yumeno Aika. WOW! I'd support that nomination. She certainly has the right 'credentials'  :w00t: to be on the show. I can see her doing a "Cider Queen" bit now... :twothumbs

Well, I don't know much about AV/gravure girls, I know some of jdrama girls, though. But, I can vote for Nakamura Shizuka.
I don't usually like 'a-little-bit-big-sized' girl (I like small to medium sized girl) but she's cute anyway.
And I'd like Rina, my fave, and Yuria, for the sense of humor, back too

*L4verra do really know some cute girls

remy_R, you know some cute girls too!

I checked out Nakamura Shizuka. Very nice! I think, she looks a little like Akiho. Anyone else think so?

remy_R, I agree about Yuria. She and Kasumi Kaho were probably the funniest Muscats. Yuria was really quirky.

Kind of on the subject of Yuria. The Muscats favourite drink, Makkori. Has anybody tried it?

Cheers!

I feel if the Muscats were around they definately would have gotten Kana Yume on there. Very pretty, fits the idol image to a tee and is one of the most popular JAV stars right now at just 21 and winning industry awards for Best Actress. Would have made sense to continue to capitalise on her success. Nana Ogura too. They could have really trolled everyone too if they got Ayaka Tomada in there as well, make everyone do a double take that Tomomi Itano joined the Muscats.

I'd nominate Konno Anna, though from what I can tell, she might be a little high-profile for the Muscats (Maccoi and crew seemed to prefer casting unknowns when it came to gravure girls). But she does have connections to a couple of the other members, being managed by Fanta Star - the same talent agency as Kodama and Yamanaka (that is, before Ayako moved to One-Eight, joining Nagasaku and Shinohara). I think she's incredibly hot, but I have no idea about her comedic chops. Several years ago, she appeared on a show called 'Kudamaki Hachibe X” with Kodama, Yamanaka, Ohashi Sayoko, and some other Fanta Star girls, but I don't remember her actually saying anything :/ IIRC, Nanako came out of that episode looking pretty bad – the conversations ended up portraying her as bitchy and loose. It caused kind of a stir among the fans, so much so that I remember her having to apologize and do damage control the day after it aired. That episode seems to have disappeared from youtube. If I can find it, I'll post it here. Anyway. Konno Anna.

I also think Yoshiki Risa might be a good fit, though I think she's probably pretty high-profile too. She has some comedy/variety experience, having been a member of the Campus Nighters, who were kind of like the Muscats if the Muscats were composed of college girls. The actual Muscats actually made a couple of guest appearances on that show.

Thanks, illnerdism. That was great. But, damn, it makes me wish the Muscats were still on air :(

The girls in the front row have been given towels to prevent 'panchira' shots: this show must have been on in an earlier time slot.

Minori 'dekapai' Hatsune didn't get a HR... :smhid

BTW, I think I've seen that Kodama/Yamanaka/Ohashi video on FC2.

Wow, very nice choices. I love Shizuka Nakamura. Yes, she looks a bit like Acky on some photoshoots. I agree with illnerdism about Risa Yoshiki and Anna  :twothumbs
Personally, I'd love to see Mikie Hara as a member of the group since she is a very beautiful and rather popular gravure idol, having been featured in several japanese movies and doramas. If I had to choose a lesser known girl I'd suggest Natsuki Ikeda (I have one of her calendars!).

About suggesting an AV Idol, huh... OK, I know this may sound crazy but I don't usually watch AV Idols' movies so I know very little of them. One of my favorite "non Muscats" girls is Yua Aida. She's not only gorgeous but was also one of the most popular girls of S1 Studio back in 2006. Sadly she retired from the industry but I'd love to see her coming back  :)

Anyway, dunno if you guys have seen this yet. It's AiLi performing one of her original songs 'Habataku Hi Made' (Until The Day We Flap Our Wings?) at the same Sunshine Street Stage venue where she performed a few months ago.
Again, thank you for sharing one of AiLi's live performances. If my info is correct she is going to do another presentation in March 29th. I'm dying to see that!

Just bought Tsubasa amami's singing project.  I'll be more than happy to share the three songs in MP3 form, just that I don't know how to do it.  e-mail perhaps?  is there some link or page I should use?  let me know.

i used window live movie maker to make this video for my youtube page.  hopefully you enjoy it.  i'll do the other two songs shortly.

update:

hope you enjoy, and hope youtube doesn't want me to get rid of these videos.

Okay...I came up with something here. Remember when AKB48 and their sister/rival groups had the big shuffle a few weeks back? Well, let's hypothetically say that the Ebisu Muscats were still active and were a sister or rival group of AKB48. Who would you send on a concurrency assignment to AKB48, NMB48, SKE48, HKT48 or Nogizaka46? Plus, whom of these five groups would make a good addition to the Ebisu Muscats as a concurrency?

I have a few in mind:
-Rukawa Rina to AKB48 Team 4
-Kishi Aino and Kuriyama Mui to SKE48 Team E
-Sakamoto Rion and Shinohara Saemi to NMB48 Team BII
-Mizuki Uruha to Nogizaka46
-Eto Misa and Shinuchi Mai to Ebisu Muscats

What do y'all think?
