In some other news, Rina Rukawa announced in a magazine that she will be retiring from AV on August.

Source: http://blog.livedoor.jp/rukawarina/archives/8866327.html

Dang...I translated the whole blog entry (curse ye, Google Translate), and that is what I understand. She thanked the people who is been with her ever since her debut in 2010. My salute to Rina-chan!

So...2 of the remaining 4th Gens will be retiring this year...but that doesn't mean that Rina will be like Kishi, who possibly will cut her ties in the industry, both AV and outside AV. I think she will continue on the other fields. She had a nice long run in singing ever since she entered Muscats...and until she is in a new group in the form of Sexy-J, she has gone a bit of improvement.

Aino Kishi and Rina Rukawa retiring, damn the JAV world is losing some pretty looking ladies. With no new releases in about 6 months it would seem that Rio has quietly retired too. :( Would have liked to have seen one last hurrah before she left. Still, at least she's looking damn fine on Instagram.

When Acky retires, it will be a cold, dark day in my appreciation of JAV.

Sucks about Rukawa Rina...but you know what, maybe that's best for her? I think what SOD management did to her was pretty cruel compared to S1 (though they kinda didn't respect her there either, especially with what I've seen during the latter half of her S1 AV career). I think she can have a fantastic career similar to what Rio is doing, or maybe take the high road like Asami Yuma. Who knows. All I know is that I still support my original kami oshi through thick and thin, and where ever life takes her, I'll be there to root for her!  :)

As for the new announcement, I think this just means Kobayashi-P is bringing a new Muscats lineup back on stage. We won't see members like Kishi Aino, Rukawa Rina, Shinohara Saemi or Rio, but we will see a new lineup of idols ready to take the stage. That means we may see a lineup of Kana Yume, Ogawa Meruru, Hasegawa Shizuku, and if you can find her, Mizuki Uruha.

It would be great to have Kito Momona as captain because...you know, she has SKE48 on her resume

Rio's last hurrah is the video collection IdeaPocket created for her. As for Acky, she will not be retiring. She said on her speech in the DMM Adult Awards months ago that she dusted off those who wanted her to retire and shrugs her shoulders to those who is asking of the possibilities of her retirement. "I just love this industry," she said.

I think Rina really skyrocketed in her music career...but little by little.

As for the announcement, I saw the responses from the followers. They all wanted the same thing...A REUNION.

Like it or not, they really want it. For that fact alone, I feel that the Muscats hype is still alive and roaring.

You're probably right about Rio now that I realise it. Dammit. And good for Acky, I don't want her to stop XD

Just to add to this discussion, ScanLover Forum has also talked about the Muscats. Wasn't sure how many of you knew about this site. It's dedicated to Japanese girls, from idols to gravures to AV and there was a whole thread on the Muscats. There's also one for Yuma Asami, talking about her now post-porn, post-cancer career.

"Let me see, at the beginning, I was kind of scared, I was afraid to join a group full of girls. I was worried that I might not be able to get along with other girls and that there might be a lot of bullying and fighting behind the scenes. Now, I have found my position in the group and have gotten to know other members well, I really get along with everyone very well. To my surprise, a lot of the girls are very boyish and straight forward, which really fits my personality, so we all get along very well. Recently, I am able to present myself on the show and not be nervous anymore. Muscats have become something that is very important to me now."

-Aino Kishi

Since some one from scanlover forums said that this was a preference to a scene from Terminator 2....I will create a meme out of it with the famous words from the movie...and oh, this is for the preparation for the July 2nd

It will be interesting to see who will take the leadership spot. Sora Aoi has effectively moved to China and Yuma is pursuing a solo career.

I will go for either Rio or Shou Nishino.
For Rio, it is her dedication to the group. For Shou, it is her ability to "read between the lines": the ability to read a situation of their live events or an episode(she did it on several occassions...one is when she had an injury on the ankle...she used it as an advantage to pull a gag on to it...like riding a bike, inteferring Mina Minamoto's welcoming...or in a live event where she solved Rina's shyness...)

When it comes to activity post-Muscats....when it come to working so that the group will stay alive even if they are disbanded....even if she will be retiring this year, I will go with..

Rina Rukawa...

We posted here our choices for potential members just in case a comeback happens.

since Kawamura Ena had a kid, do you think she will return to a possible EbiMasu reboot?
if not, who will perform Reikan Shoujo A?   :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:
or will they retire certain songs.  Will Purukawa be retired as well?
:panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

Now, you stated about retirements...we are going to shift first to our current leader. Aino stated that she will be retiring to the whole, and I mean WHOLE, community (inside and outside AV) by the end of the year...which means she will retiring the position as leader as well if a reboot will happen.

If the reboot will happen...might as well reactivate the SP Arc members (7th-9th)...I must admit that the seniors will not be around sooner or later, and some of them might become mentors to the newbies.

Also, I wanted to see "2nd Chance" members (yep, I know what, or who, are you thinking of: Tsubasa Amami)..

Now, back to our resident obake...for me, it will go 50:50...as for a Purukawa Reunion...Like I always say...GUESS WE WILL WAIT AND SEE..

Speaking of which, Margarines are quite passive these days...any reports about those debt-paying darlings?
