More likely it is...

But let us not forget Nanami...

It is either a newly ELECTED leader or a turn-over...

Side note: nice sliding txt there. XD

I know I might be in the minority here, but I actually don't mind them cutting down the number of members (Amatsuka Moe was an exception though, I wanted her to stay). The show has trouble finding time for all the members and over half of them aren't doing anything at any given moment anyways. I wouldn't mind them reducing the size down to about 20 and give each girl more time to show themselves.

I think the bigger problem with the show is the unnecessary push given to the Asagaya shimai. The last time I checked, the show is called Muscat Night, not Asagaya night and the group is Ebisu Muscats, not Asagaya shimai. I don't get why the staff give them so much time on the show and they aren't even all that funny. The latest episode was a great example, why spend half of the show on Asagaya shimai? The MV was such a waste of money and resource, instead of spending money on making a MV that no one really wants to see, why not spend it on improving the quality of other MV or use it on a field trip or something. Maybe if the show actually spend more time on the girls, not so many of them would want to leave. They must also consider the audience, I doubt anyone really stay up late at night to watch Miho kiss like a hundred times on screen, I know I definitely didn't sign up for it. I see a lot of complains from Japanese fans about the MV and the amount of time Asagaya shimai gets, maybe it is time the staff actually listen to the fans for once.

Thanks, ikari456, for writing this. I've felt this way for some time, and I was hoping somebody else did as well.

IMO, Muscats Nights has suffered because Okubo has had waaaaaaaaaaaay too much influence on the program.  :smhid

The 'unattractive middle aged women factor' has played too big a part in Muscats Nights (as compared to the previous Muscats series).

I think, without Okubo's influence it would be a better program.

More time would be given to what the fans actually want to see - the Muscats! - and not comedy buddies of Okubo's.

Riku, Shiori, Yua, and Iori really did rally the Muscats in several live events this 2nd half of March, esp. last week after unveiling the new uniforms and the new show format. Pretty awesome for me.

and, of course...some Riku being goofy and all

Cover art for their new album. I don't even know where to start with these
Looks like they have absolutely zero intention on selling the CDs to none Muscats fans. Pretty hard to attract anyone with CD covers like these.
They could spend all those time and effort to film a MV featuring Asagaya shimai that no one is really interested in, but couldn't afford to do a proper CD cover shoot with Muscats members? This is beyond stupid if you ask me.

Thank you for the nice interview, based on what is said in it, there will be at least two unit songs in the album, which is cool. I like the unit songs of the original Muscats.

Seriously WTF was that?! :shocked I thought it was an April Fools Joke at first but looks like they don't do such thing in Japan... They should bring Shine back to make the cover designs since his art was awesome.
Oh my, as much I like the Muscats they've been downhill for me in the past months. First they let Nana, Moe and Rirei go (and Yura but well, that was because her retirement but still I had high hopes when I saw her returning to the show), then that MV and now this. I mean, the Sexy Beach Honeymoon cover is embarrasing already but it fits the image of the group. But this is just plain weird...

Anyways, let's give Nanako a nice Happy Birthday greeting :twothumbs She sure was one of my favorite girls from the First Gen.

just saw the new covers for their CD.

IMO, their covers are good if you appreciate the reason why. If you squint a little, you see an 80's comic-like illustration of a girl, with a wild hairdo that you might see during the time of Cyndi Lauper or somethin. The "grafitti" is like child's play on purpose.

For me, the CDs remind us of the girls: having a wild yet beautiful personalities, but with a childish sense of things (e.g. Natsume, Riku, Yuki)

It is not butt-ugly CD cover for me.

Let us hope the song list are good.

Let us hope some one would kindly upload the songs, along with the others, to appreciate it.

Anyway, we have 2 days left until the April 7 (the birth of the OG that started it all)

and we have a year left before the 10th anniversary.

Thanks for the question. It’s not one that really gets asked.

I’ve got no problem with the Muscats.

When the new program started I thought they might struggle to find girls with the kind of stand-out personalities some of the OG Muscats had. But, girls like Kawakami, Tsujimoto, Minato, Yoshizawa, Kana Yume, and Hanami Natsume have just as interesting personalities as any of the OG Muscats. Tsukasa is just as beautiful as any of the OG Muscats. Nana Ayano was just as quirky as Satomi Yuria.

And unlike the OG Muscats (excluding Nagasaku who had a good sing voice) some of the new Muscats have some real musical talent (e.g. Kawakami’s singing, and Kamisaki’s singing and piano playing).

IMO, the production team haven’t really found segments to replace stuff like Kawaii Koshien and Cider Queen. Segments that are more Muscats focused.

There has been too much of this.  THIS is NOT why I watch Ebisu Muscats!

Those CD covers. I don't know whose idea it was, but it was a dumb idea! The Muscats are not some edgy alt-rock band (e.g. BiSH)

The new costumes. They're cute and sexy. Not sure if all the Muscats have the figure for it. Not all butts were created equal. But girls like Riku and Yume should look great.

They need to research and brainstorm a lot, my friend. They won't just stick to only few materials.

The 3 ladies have a good potential in hosting ONLY (e.g. The Twins during several MNBS Shorties, Okubo during live events during the OG Era). But I also agree that we need MORE muscat material in the show.

I remember one time when all of the compilation CD during the OG Era (like Ahaha-hen) have the covers saying, "OgiYagi featuring Kayako Okubo and Ebisu Muscats".

OG times are quite better in terms of programming, but let us see if the current era will might get it better...like I said...they need more research and brainstorming...

Maybe they can learn from this girl

Or they should be slapped like this (the prod team if they don't do better)

I wished we had a game called "Slap Slap".

I think fans would love Muscat girls settle their arguments by slapping

Just watched the Ep1 of "Muscat Night Fever"

And I must say...it was great.

Having Iori and Riku in the MC table was a good one. Riku admits that it was hard but she pulled it quite good.

Marina releases her inner Yuma in her dango segment (careful with the wooden mallet).

The twins are back in the hosting in the sidelines

Overall, it was great. Cannot wait for the next.

Tommorow is the Muscats' Anniversary.  :twothumbs

My.friend, let us not wish for that...or else we will have another of those Risa Kasumi-Eiri Ouka moments...but yeah, a Kujikenka-oh Keiteisen/an Argument Queen contest revamp is also good. They did pull off a revamped O-oku...but it was for Kaho since she is the master of that segment and during that time, she is retiring in AV.

For 9 years, an Idol group breaks the conventional shell with their wild, sexy, and unorthodox ways. Members come and go. The Programming has been changed. But the spirit lives on.

Happy 9th Anniversary, Ebisu Muscats/Ebisu*Muscats
