I have returned from the wilderness and have finnaly finished my next chapter, Man what an epic struggle this was, a mixture of the Xmas period and just being so damn busy in the first couple of weeks really held me back from writing, hopeful I'm over the worst of it now so I should be able to become a bit more consistant in getting chapters out.

Chapter 23Miya felt uneasy standing outside this particular house , on reflection she though that this was totally understandable considering where she was, she wondered how the girl would react, especially know she new the reason behind the troubles between them but she needed to talk to her about it, she wanted her to understand. Miya took a deep breath and pushed the doorbell.
“Miyabi, nice to see you dear”
“Oh, hello Mrs Yajima I've er...”
“Come to see Maimi, yes I though you might of come round soon” Mrs Yajima smiled at Miya
“Yes, well, we've um, got things to talk about” Miya mumbled in response
Mrs Yaima nodded in understanding “Well you better come in dear” she said “Maimi, you've got a visitor” she shouted up the stairs after Miya had entered the house
“Who is it?” Maimi asked as she came to the top of the stairs, once she saw that it was Miya she tensed up immediately and threw Miya an angry look before doing the same to her mother and stormed back into her room, slamming the door as she did so.
“Oh dear” Miya said sadly giving a deep sigh “Still angry at me then”
“I would take that reaction as a yes dear, but I will tell you that she wont get angry a people she doesn't care about” Mrs Yajima said gently, patting Miya on the shoulder.
“I hope so Mrs Yajima, I really do”
“Did I hear a door slamming? Oh hello Miyabi”
“Hello Mr Yajima how are you” Miyabi said bowing to Maimi's father
“About to go out” Mrs Yajima replied, giving a look to her husband
“Am I?” he asked trying to read the look in his wife's eyes “Yes out, for dinner right?”
“Yes for dinner” Mrs Yajima smiled “Well lets go then dear” she said grabbing a coat for herself and her husband and ushered him out the front door
“Um, Mrs Yajima”
“Yes Miyabi”
“Thank you”
Mrs Yajima gave Miya a quick hug “Good luck”she said quietly before leaving the house
Miya let Maimi's parents leave properly before she slow began to climb the stairs, she knew too well that the girl whose room she was going to was still mad at her but at least now she knew the reason why at least now she could persuade Maimi to see sense, well she hoped she could anyway
Miya knocked on the closed door of the room “Maimi, I've come to talk to you”
“Go away!” Maimi shouted through the door “I don,t need to talk to you!”
“Please Maimi, I really need to talk to you, it's important, for me and for you”
“Yeah, well, good for you” Maimi replied angrily
“Maimi, I know you must be upset but if you would just listen to me...”
Miya was interrupted by Maimi suddenly opening the door and pushing Miya who ended up stumbling back a few steps “Upset?” she shouted “Did you even bother to figure out what it is I'm upset about, do you care?”
Miya let out a low growling sound, a look of anger on his face, she charged towards Maimi and started to push the shocked C-ute leader back into her room before finnaly pushing her down onto her own bed
“Of course I care dammit” Miya yelled gabbing hold of Maimi's shirt “And I know why your pissed off with me now too, you see I went out with Airi the other day and she confessed to me”
“And what? You've come to gloat?” shouted back grabbing Miya by the collar with one had whilst the other tried to prise Miya's hands off her “Come to tell me you've added Airi to your ever glowing list of lovers”
“Do you know why I went out with Airi that day?” Miya asked still shouting at Maimi fought her way back to a vertical base from the bed “It was to try and find out what was bothering you, but then Airi confessed and I was so shocked that...” Miya got no further as Maimi had slapped her hard across the face, hard enough in fact to send Miya falling to the ground.
“And what, you did nothing Miya, nothing to stop her or tell her otherwise or perhaps bother to mention that she is the love of my life!” she asked still shouting, her hand raised over the girl she had just slapped “Because we both know that you want her, that's the real reason you couldn't reject her, unless there's some other stupid excuse you want to come up with?”
“I used to like Airi, that's why!” Miya yelled, Maimi stood frozen to the spot as Miya got up from the floor and standing in front of Miya, breathing heavily, seeing the stunned look of disbelief and defeat on Maimi's face her anger slowly faded like the mark that Maimi had made faded from her cheek she smiled sadly before continuing
“Airi was the second person that I had liked, I won't bother explaining why to you as it was for the same reasons as you and yes we are close but love?” Miya shook her head “I never felt that she loved me whatever my own feelings were at the time but yesterday, she ended up confessing to me, I was so shocked at what she had said that I couldn't say anything before she had run off, I haven't seen her since, I haven't told her yet that she still hasn't figured out what I did so many years ago”
Maimi could only look at Miya in disbelief as she shakily sat down on the edge of her bed struggling to take in what her friend was saying. Miya saw the look on Maimi's face and chuckled to herself quietly before sitting down next to the confused girl
“You know, I never really like you much in the past” she said looking at Maimi “It was jealousy you know, it was all over the relationship you and Airi had, you were just so close to each other, the way she acted towards you, so natural, so care free, I wanted to have that feeling to, sometimes I though you were doing it just to annoy me, silly right?”Miya let out a sigh before continuing
“You remember that day, the day I found you crying and you told me that you liked Airi? Truth be told I was looking for you I was so determined to tell you how I felt about Airi but then we met and you admitted your love for her”
Miya started to pick at the edge of the cover on Maimi's bed “I wasn't sure you see, if you loved her or not but then I found you crying and you admitted your love for Airi and I knew that you two were destined to be together, your love for her was, well, special and I knew, more than Airi did herself, that she loves you though she still hasn't figured it out yet and who was I to get in the way of that?”
Miya suddenly got up and walked over to look out the window to the street below “I promised myself that day that I would get you two together, a promise I made to you as well, a penance if you will, for getting in between you two for to long, it's a promise I intend to keep Maimi but for that I need the old Maimi back”
Miya turned round to look down at the girl sitting on the bed, Maimi was just staring at the floor, not moving an inch
“If you want to talk” Miya said felling she would not get a response from the girl “Just come find me, it's your decision now Maimi, I hope you believe me and I will tell you that we all miss you” Maimi stayed staring at the ground, Miya took one last look at her friend before shaking her head and turning away towards the door, she had only gone a few steps however before she heard footsteps behind her and a pair of arms wrapped themselves around her waist.
“Maimi? What....”
“No Miya don't say anything” Maimi interrupted “Just let me hug you, please”
Miya began to relax as Maim strengthened her grip around the other girls waist, they could have been there for seconds, days or hours Miya wasn't sure “I'm sorry” a voice said from behind her
“I'm sorry, for what I did, for how I acted” Maimi said as Miya turned round to face her “I can't defend what I did to you but when Airi told me she liked you I just got so confused, I wanted Airi to be happy but I wanted her to be happy with me, I wanted to let her be happy with you but I also hated you for taking her from me, I wanted to fight you for her all because. Because...”
“You love her?” Miya asked
“Yes” Maimi looked down at the floor tears forming in her eyes “Can you ever forgive me Miya, for doing what I did to you back then, for what I did tonight”
It was Miya this time who pulled Miami into a hug “It's not your forgiveness I want Maimi, it's you, I want my friend back, we all just want you back”
“Will you still help me Miya?” Maimi asked “To confess to Airi?”
“I think that's something you have to do on your own Maimi” Miya replied wiping the tears from Maimi's eyes “But I will be beside you all of the way”
“You're right Miya, it's my responsibility I got to do it in my own way” Maimi paused “But if I start to falter, give me a kick won't you”
“Does this mean your back?” Miya asked hopefully
Maimi looked at Miya “Yes” she said simply, a genuine smile spreading across her face, Miya smiled back and gave her friend another hug
“Glad to have you back Maimi, I missed you”
“I missed you too Miya, I really did”
“Ah, Maimi, you're gonna make me cry” Miya said wiping some tears from her eyes
“Sorry” Maimi said laughing at her friend, do you want a drink of something, I think we could both do with something right?”
“Please” Miya said “I must admit my throat is parched!”
“Perhaps some tea then” Maimi said as she lead Miya down the stairs
Both girls sat around the table in the kitchen as sipped their tea, Miya cradled her cup in her hands a satisfied look on her face. Maimi however put her cup down on the table
“Miya you know you talked about the day I told you about my feelings for Airi, well that day you told me that you liked Saki, when it was really Airi that you liked, does, does it mean that you...”
“That I don't like Saki” Miya finished Maimi's question for her, she smiled as she put her cup down on the table as well
“Truth be told when I said it no, I didn't like Saki like that, she was my best friend so it seemed like a logical choice to say to you”
“But” Maimi began to say before Miya interrupted her again
“But, the funny thing is that I started to spend more time with her after Airi and well, I fell for her, I just totally fell for her, I can't really explain why, it's like something clicked in my brain and I saw what I had been missing for all those years, the person who had all ways been beside me, I'm happy, with her”
A look of relief came across Maimi's face “I'm so glad, I was just thinking, I mean what you said about Airi and all, well you know Saki is my friend too so, I, um, just wanted to be sure” she explained awkwardly
Miya laughed at Maimi's clumsy response “Don't worry I like her” she said patting the C-ute member on the arm “Speaking of which I best be going, she will be waiting for me at her home”
“Oh, right well I'll see you out” Maimi said accompanying Miya to the door
“So, I'll see you tomorrow then?” Miya asked as Maimi opened the door for her
“You sure will” Maimi replied pulling Miya into a hug
Miya hugged Maimi back for a while before breaking it and looked up at Maimi “You should know that Airi may be a bit upset with you” she warned “You must talk to her tomorrow O.K.?”
“I deserve Airi to be mad at me” Maimi said sadly “But I will talk to her I promise”
“Good” Miya replied happily “Well, see you around then” she said waving to Maimi as she left
“Miya” Maimi suddenly called out
“Yes Maimi”
“Nothing, nothing, well it was just something you said, about Airi being the second person you liked, I've only just realized that's what you said, It's just that, um, was there another before Airi, a person you liked I mean?”
Miya looked at Maimi and gave her a quick smile and a wink “Goodbye Maimi” she said before walking off
“Bye” Maimi replied before closing the door confused “If it wasn't Airi or Saki, then who was Miya's first love?” she asked herself before walking back upstairs, once she was in her room she took out her purse and looked at the picture inside “Airi, I'm sorry, please wait for me”
