If anyone cares about the CONCACAF Champions' Cup (or CONCACAF at all), here are today's results:
Olimpia 1-4 DC United
Puntarenas 1-0 Houston Dynamo

Barcelona were a very poor shadow of their former selves last night. Got what they deserved.

So rumours are Platini is going to force a replay of the first leg game between us and Lille. Fucking ridiculous. Lille intimidates the ref and threatens to walk off the pitch and we get punished for it.

i wouldn't mind if Ferguson doesn't mind. We'll trash them 0-3 at their home ground and make them forget about the 2nd league.

Then we'll just throw in subs and still trash them 3-0 at home. bah

I can't believe that there is still idiots that have issues with the goal. When you concede a free kick, of course the advantage is given to the attacking side, not the defending side. There's only two things that the person with the free kick has to consider - that the referee is ready and that the ball is stationary. Why people think that for some bizarre reason that Giggs have to wait and let the keeper organise his wall is ridiculous.

If a quick free kick can be taken the some way 30 metres up the pitch, why can't it be done the same when it's near goal?

^ Thanks ferrar! Yeah it was a little early but I won't be truly happy unless we win against Fulham tomorrow and extend our lead to 9 points! :D

"Hey Mourinho, are you listening?
You better keep that trophy glistening..."

Oh we absolutely stole that result today! We admittedly played fairly poorly, but full credit to Fulham for sticking it to us and playing superbly throughout the match and right to the end. But just what you'd know, Ronaldo goes and gives me a belated birthday gift and creates a moment of individual genius that leads to a goal and our victory. My pick for man of the match though is surely Van Der Sar, who, despite creating an early blunder which lead to Fulham's goal, created some top-drawer saves that kept us in the game. I know critics are going to say we didn't deserve it, but that's the appeal of football ain't it? A funny old game, where not even the best team throughout the match can win it. Besides, Chelsea did it the last two years and still won. 9 points clear, and winning even though we weren't at our best can only mean one thing. It's coming home boys.

5 mins, 3 goals, GO REDS

Man-U FTW

EDIT
What a cracking cup tie, Reading did really well not to fold, and came back well, but the win will do nicely ta

The last 10 mins was nail-biting stuff, we really do need to sort out defense at times, but no doubt the first 5 mins was a peach! :D Next match is away to either West Brom or the Boro. Easy enough either way :D

Mourinho, shut your fucking mouth. I think Football 365 says it best:

Quote from: Football 365"
When asked last year how he would like to be remembered in England, Jose Mourinho's answer was surprising. "As not a hypocrite," he replied forcibly. "I am not a hypocrite."

Fortunately, there's not even the faintest whiff of hypocrisy in his latest outburst in which he accuses ManYoo of being lucky to lead the Premiership by nine points.

"This is a season in which United have had no injuries and every player is fine to play.

They go [to] the Champions League and have a disallowed goal for the opponent [Lille] and their goal is that goal. They go to Fulham and it looks like they deserve to lose and they win. They play at Tottenham, it's 0-0 and Cristiano dives, they get a penalty and win 4-0. I didn't see the Fulham game, but the information I have is it was completely undeserved. It's a game they could have lost and in the end they win it."

Where to start with this particular tirade?

Is it by pointing out that during the previous two seasons the only injury Chelski suffered was a broken fingernail? Or is it by musing just where Jose would be now if Paul Scholes' goal against Porto in the Champions Leauge in 2004 wasn't wrongly disallowed for offside? Or perhaps it is by reminding Jose that his side contains such acoustic foul artists as Joe Cole, Arjen Robben and Didier Drogba?

But if we're looking to win the argument, there's only one suitable response. As Jose himself said this weekend after Chelski prevailed despite being given the run-around by Arsenal's youth team, "Football is all about winning." It's just jolly unfair when another side does it.

somehow mourinho is sounding like a sore loser even before the titile race is over, he is giving excuses for his current situation, but he forgets that his chelsea FC has a second team that also has capable players that can compete in the premier league... all he can do is whim... he is a big time pussy

Goddammit we're out of the cup race. Now a three game losing streak. But the young Gunners did well despite being pretty disjointed in the first half and giving up some pretty good chances. Freddy should have gotten that penalty :/ They started making big moves at the last 20 minutes or so of the game. Though in the end, Blackburn came out on top. Excellent goal by McCarthy.
I guess I'll have to root for ManU to the end. I want to also see Chelsea make it to the finals, to lose to ManU

And about the Premiership, how many games are left?

^ Not our fault if people start supporting the right club and seeing some common sense!

Arsenal better hope they don't lose against Reading this weekend. If they do, they'll become the first English team to lose 4 successive games in 4 different competitions. Not to rub salt in the wounds Arsenal fans, but that would be pretty funny :P

Gerrard says Liverpool won't let Utd win on Saturday and hopes to blow the title race 'wide open'. Sure you will Gerrard, and you'll win the Treble while you're at it. Besides, we're not going to lose, Neville won't let us lose to those dirty scousers :P If Ryan Giggs plays for starts for us, he will become only the second player in United's history to make 700 appearances for us, after Bobby Charlton. Giggs is an absolute legend. Can't imagine United without him.

Some more confirmed names for the Man Utd against Lippi coached Europe All-Star XII:

Ronaldinho
David Beckham
Steven Gerrard
Jamie Carragher
Carles Puyol
Lilian Thuram
Gianluca Zambrotta

Should be soo good. Interesting to see what the reaction for Beckham will be like

Not to worry! Arsenal creamed Reading the first time they met. Can't be too careful though, Reading almost equalized after going 3-0 against Utd.
Anyway about those names, are those players for the All-Star team? or is Beckham playing for Utd?
