Ugh why must we make such stupid defensive errors against Liverpool this season? First it's Brown and Van Der Sar colliding into each other, now it's a moment of madness from Vidic and Evra. Oh well, for the performances he's put in for the season so far, I can allow Vidic to make a few mistakes. Shame it has to be against our biggest rivals for the league.

Can't complain about the ref, he got all the big decisions right I think. And while Vidic messed up, Torres did incredibly well to pick up the pace and score.

Pool v Chelsea again??  Although that's a good way of getting one of the strong teams out.

You forgot to list the semis as well:

Arsenal/Villareal v Manchester Utd/Porto
Liverpool/Chelsea v Barcelona/Bayern Munich

Good draw from our perspective, although judging by our recent efforts against Villareal it could be one that goes to penalties. Well, presuming they go through that is.

^ Crazy. Great game to watch though. But it wasn't even the most high scoring game last night, that honor went to Poland who beat San Marino 10-0

Come on N.Ireland. Top of the group (for now) :D Just what is it about football fans that attract the worst kind of people? Before kick off in England's game, there was a min's silence for the England team doctor of 16 years who passed away. And I knew, I damn well knew it wasn't going to end well. Had to cut it short because of a group of people chanting and jeering during it. Whether it was the English or the Ukranians, you just don't do that.

Alan Shearer manager of Newcastle? Win-win situation for him. If he keeps them up, then he'll be considered the Messiah. If they go down, he has the excuse of not having enough games to make an impact. Which I don't consider a legitmate excuse btw. You can't have that double standard when modern day Premier League managers are hanged by media and fans for losing a couple of games.

^ Interesting comparison actually. Argentina appoint a hero, feted by all and who achieved glorious things as a player, but who has no coaching experience whatsoever as their manager, and they lose 6-1 to Bolivia.

Remind you of anyone Alan Shearer? Still don't understand the association that great players go on to become great managers.

Manchester Utd 2 - 2 Porto FC

Oh United...

Probably our worst performance of the season, and as much as I hate to say it, the legend that is the Neviller shouldn't start a game any longer. Silly goal to concede in the last minutes of the game. Goes without saying we have to win now.

And Benitez running his mouth again. Funny how he says Ferguson should be more focused on his team when all I hear from him and the Liverpool players lately is how Utd will falter.

^ Lol.

Arsenal - United tomorrow. CL semi #2. My prediction; Utd will make Francenal look like a Div 4 team again. It's just what they do. Outplay you to the point where you lose all your hope. You can't beat the best. It's as simple as that.

^ :D

Chelsea v Barcelona is a tougher game to call though. Something tells me Chelsea are only too happy to put 11 men behing the ball like they did on Tuesday. Ironic how when Man Utd did a similar thing last year they were accussed of parking the bus and showed no attacking initiative. But when Chelsea do it, it's a defensive masterclass. It's not. It's like the Italian clubs of the 60's, highly defensive but highly negative tactics.

So I see it going to ET with Chelsea maybe just stealing it. But I do hope Barca go through. I'd rather not have to play Chelsea again but instead test our mettle against the best club in Europe. Would make a better final.

:w00t: Man Utd are going to Rome!! :w00t:

Shame about Fletcher though. He got the ball first and was unfairly sent off, and with no way to appeal against the decision, you have to feel for him.

Bittersweet victory then. But bring on Barca or Chelski. Can't wait.

^ :w00t: UNITED V BARCA BABY!!! :w00t:

Football. Bloody hell. What a finish. That's why I love football. And now we get the Hollywood final as a result. Of course, that's not how Chelsea fans will see it and the debate over the supposed penalties will continue long after this.

On that note, what a fucking disgrace Chelsea are as a team. Ballack damn well near pulled the referee back hurling abuse at him over a supposed handball that actually hit the Barca player in the armpit. And after the final whistle, Terry, Lampard and most notably Drogba, all venting their anger and looked on the brink of attacking the ref. UEFA better do something about that and throw the book at Chelsea. This ain't the first time it's happened with these players and as Drogba so eloquently put it to the camera, "It's a fucking disgrace!"
