Sir Alex Ferguson is yet to reinvest the money brought in from his Portuguese protege's departure, and it is thought that the Old Trafford club's debts are preventing him from doing so.

If the owners, apparently, kept all the money from the Ronaldo signing to themselves to pay off debt, what's going to stop them when an even bigger offer comes along? I love Rooney (no homo), works hard, great finisher and looks like he'd give heart and soul to the club, but £85 mil?

Big match tonight. While I don't see it as a title decider as so many would have you believe, it would still be good to get a win at Stamford Bridge and bring Chelsea down a peg. But it doesn't look good. Whilst I would takena fully fit Jonny Evans over a 90% fit Rio Ferdinand any day of the week, our defence has been left wanting at times and I'm sure it must be hard enough keeping out an in-form striker from scoring, but when you have two i.e. Drogba and Anelka, it's bound to cause trouble. I say a 2-1 win to Chelsea and I feel disgusted at myself for saying so.

*EDIT*

Chelsea 1 - 0 Man Utd

hmmm, I didn't realise we would lose thanks to an offside Drogba and John Terry's shoulder. Also, how was Terry's tackle on Valencia not a penalty? Is shirt pulling down to the ground a legal move nowadays?

I'm gonna throw my neck out and say the title is going to be Chelsea's this year, and Arsenal have an outside chacne so long as they don't implode like they have done in recent years.

Chelsea are the only team that seem to be able to have a soild defence, everyone else in the league this eyar has been awful; I wouldn't say Chelsea have beena wesome, just better than everyone else. I want to see Arsenal's defence tested a bit more though since they did leak four against city.

I'm shocked with this news, Enke was an star player and most that probably would be the main goalkeeper in the world cup... this is very sad, a big lost for Germany squad and football in general. Apparently he never forgive himself about her daughter dead... might he finally rest in peace.

Country in shock as star player dies under train

Damn, somehow I forgot to mention that myself, heard about it shortly after it got reported on the net, not what I was expecting, or anyone I think tbh. I remember him all the way back to his days with Barcelona and didn't actually know he was the number one naitonal goalkeeper as I hadn't been paying much attention to international football as usual. Shocking to hear about it, kind of makes you feel a bit weird that it's obviously something so sad but when something like that happens to your kid then it's gotta be messing you up inside.

Keeper badly hurt in bike smash

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has suffered "potentially life-changing injuries" in a motorbike accident in east London, police said.

He was taken to hospital after his BMW bike was involved in a collision with a car in Walthamstow at about 1030 GMT.

He has fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis but a spokesman for the north London club said they were still waiting for hospital test results.

The Italian, 36, signed from London rivals Chelsea in January this year.

The female driver and a child passenger walked away from the Ford Fiesta Cudicini was in collision with and did not need hospital treatment.

No arrests

The accident happened on Forest Road.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "A 36-year-old male suffered injuries described by the London Ambulance Service as possibly life-changing and was taken to an east London hospital for further assessment and treatment.

"No arrests have been made."

A statement on Tottenham's website said: "Carlo Cudicini has fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis after being involved in a road accident this morning.

What is it with these guys recently? "Potentially life changing" may well mean we won't see him playing again since he's only a reserve keeper at the moment anyway.

Everytime I like and respect Henry for his football skills, he does something like, I dunno, concede a handball then handle it a 2nd time to set upa goal. Call it an accident, instinctive, intuition, however you want, France cheated their way to the WC, pure and simple.

still can't believe it ...

Ireland totally deserved to win this match.
Henry should have tell the referee about his double hand ... I totally feel uncomfortable about this qualification and I'm not alone ...
Diarra (x2), Gignac, Gourcuff... were shit ... only Lloris was good

Watched the final part of the game... this reminds me the time when Barcelona defeated Chelsea thanks to the referee blindness  :tama-mad: i'm seriously getting tired of the "well, this is part of the game" shit

URUGUAY 1 - 1 COSTA RICA
La Celeste win the last ticket to the WC. in a very poor match with an attempt of a serious fight by the last... oh and 7 extra minutes in a game? IS A LOT

Henry did a big hand (he's not the first, by example :

Messi scores with his left hand (Diego Maradona cover) WATCH  )

but the referee didn't see 2 penalty against Ireland ... Ireland was better than France which was pathetic, :( but Lloris was here !

Incredible scoreline, but let's be honest, it wasn't due to an unstoppable blitzkreig from the Spur's offence, more like Wigan's defence was slapstick comedy at best, and truly woeful. Wigan's goal shouldn't have been allowed either, with a handball that looked Henry-esque. Ref must have given it for sympathy

Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid

It's unlucky for Real that Puyol and Pique are in their best form.
I'm sure without them Barca will lose the match. It's not Barca best performance.
