@kurosawa87: hmm... maybe... i'm thinking about that

@Ada: I wouldn't say Gaki's oblivious. She's just never thought of "cute, sweet, little Sayu" as more than a sister-figure, you know?

@rnmdnwierd: you're kinda right. Sayu's logic is just all wrong: she doesn't understand how Risa couldn't have fallen for her as much as she's fallen for the bean for the past, i dunno, 10 years. it is sad...

@Swtme03: Oh, she's already given me some ideas...

and i usually update around this time, so you can check then

@rnmdnwierd (again): oh you just inspire me so much..

but the fact is, i'm such a big TakaGaki fan that I don't think I could bare to write about either of them being with anyone else, so SayuGaki won't be TOO overboard

@aussie: yeah, a lesson on REALITY

@kawaii beam: rndy's imagination is WILD

and Sayu's double-personality is what makes her scarier than an average antagonist

@oddball: Yeah, Sayu's logic is just all wrong. In her mind, there's nobody else for her besides Risa, and vice versa (and that's where she's wrong). and I'd say Jun is the most tragic character in this story... ironic, considering i love her

My goodness, check out all these comments.

You guys are REALLy getting into this... (i'm talking to you, rndy)

Here's a SUPER long chapter for all you TanaKame AND TakaGaki fans~

Personally, I love how this chapter turned out. I didn't plan on adding the TakaGaki section but I decided to cuz I feel like this fic is getting deprived of that

Chapter 55 “Okay, let’s run it one more time,” Ai suggested.
“Fine,” Reina sighed. “But we’re going to stop before I get bored of this routine, okay?”
The two High-Queen members high-fived each other as the leader walked past her partner to turn on the music again. Risa was sitting on the floor with her back against the wall opposite of the mirrors that the idols were facing. She had been watching them practice their choreography in the dance studio since noon.
Before Ai could kick the boom box to life, Eri stumbled into the dance studio, squealing.
“It’s done! It’s done!” the turtle cried, jumping up and down.
“The costume?” Risa guessed.
“Yes!” Eri squeaked in her high-pitched voice, hyperventilating. “I think… I think it’s great!”
The young fashion designer had been working on High-Queen’s outfits for “Cinderella Complex” the entire morning. Apparently, she was finished with the final sketches.
“Okay, calm down,” Reina laughed. “Let’s see it then.”
Eri skipped over to the middle of the room towards her girlfriend, as Ai and Risa both walked over to them. She held out her sketchbook proudly.
On the page were two human figures drawn. The figure on the left had a black hat on along with a big, red shirt. There was a black skirt drawn in with a black belt, a couple necklace chains, and black heels. The figure on the right had her hair drawn into two small ponytails. It had on a black necklace with lots of bracelets; other than that, the two figures were pretty much wearing the same outfit.
“I like it,” Ai commented. “The red-and-black combo is a good choice; it’s powerful.”
“Yeah, I like it too,” Reina said, smiling a little. “It’s nice.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Eri blabbered on excitedly. “At first, I thought maybe all red would be nice but then, I decided to go more for a realistic fashion then a costume-look so I made the skirts black. And then—”
“That’s great, Eri,” Ai interrupted. She took a couple steps out of small huddle. “Reina, come over here for a moment. I need to tell you something.”
“What?” Reina asked, irritated. She enjoyed listening to her girlfriend rant, even though half of it was incomprehensible.
“I figured out a way for you not get bored about our routine,” Ai said, smirking.
The yankii raised an eyebrow, then walked over to her leader. Ai whispered something in her ear as Reina’s lips curved into a big smile.
“You up for it?” the leader questioned.
The yankii nodded. “I’ll do it. It sounds like fun. I’ll enjoy seeing her face…”
The two idols smirked and high-fived each other again. Risa raised an eyebrow while Eri cocked her head to the side in confusion.
“Baby,” Reina called, gesturing to her girlfriend, “come here for a moment.”
“Why?” Eri asked as she walked over to the middle of the dance floor.
“Just stand right here,” Reina ordered. She nodded to her leader, and Ai kicked the boom box alive.
The song started from the last chorus. Reina started to do her routine right next to Eri. Risa skittered over to Ai and whispered to her.
“What are you two planning?” Risa asked. “What is she trying to do to Kameha?”
“Just watch,” Ai chuckled. “It should be pretty interesting.”
The song turned into the final verses after the last chorus was over. As soon as the “na na na”s started, Reina broke out of the usual dance routine and started to approach Eri with a seductive expression. Eri watched her girlfriend with wide eyes as the catty idol did waves around the turtle, trying to be as sexy as possible.
“Reina,” Eri stammered. “I, uh… um… I don’t think… um…”
But Reina ignored Eri’s words and continued to dance around her. She pressed her body against the turtle’s back and did a wave, causing Eri to stiffen up. The older girl was clutching her sketchbook to her chest, blushing bright red. Reina swung around to face Eri, and caressed her cheeks lightly before whipping around in a quick turn again. Her face felt hot, as though she had a severe case of fever.
“Nee, Reina-chan… um… I… just, uh…” Eri stuttered, trying to cover her face with her hair.
“Aw, she’s so cute!” Ai commented, laughing hysterically. “Look at her blushing!”
“I’m more surprised by the fact that Reina let you put her up to this,” Risa said, her eyes wide.
“Well, she just wanted to see her girlfriend’s cute reaction,” Ai explained, giggling.
The yankii pressed her own back to Eri’s chest, reached her arms back to wrap them around the turtle’s neck, and slowly slid down into a crouch. Eri let out a sharp gasp as she blushed even more, if that was possible. Reina then slithered back up again while she let her hand travel up Eri’s smooth leg to her hips. Eri let out a small squeal, shocked from her girlfriend’s ticklish touch.
“Reina-chan, I—”
Before Eri could finish what she was about to say, the yankii kissed the older girl on the lips at the song’s last beat, and took a couple steps back.
The turtle’s entire face was red with embarrassment as she dropped her sketchbook and covered both of her cheeks with her hands. Ai’s laughter got even louder while Reina didn’t hold back on the giggling either. Risa exhaled sharply at how easily Reina controlled Eri’s emotions, and started laughing as well.
“It’s not funny!” Eri yelled, picking up her sketchbook and hugging it to her chest. “Reina-chan, that… that was…”
“Exciting? Sexy? Seductive?” the yankii suggested. The turtle puffed up her cheeks and slapped her girlfriend on her arm.
“Don’t make fun of me,” Eri grumbled.
“I’m just teasing, baby,” Reina laughed, taking her girlfriend into hug. “Besides, Ai put me up to it.”
“You were the one who was getting bored of the original choreography,” the leader argued. “It was merely a suggestion but you decided to take on the challenge.”
“Yeah, yeah, it’s all my fault,” Reina rolled her eyes.
“No, Ai was just getting too smart,” Risa said, narrowing her eyes.
“It’s okay, I’m already the bad guy here,” Reina chuckled.
“Yeah, Reina’s the yankii,” Ai giggled. “Besides, I think Eri enjoyed it.”
“Did not!” Eri yelled. She almost looked like she was down with a bad cold.
“Okay, we’re going to leave before my girl explodes from all your teasing,” the yankii said, pointing at her leader. “Do you mind locking up?”
“Not at all,” Ai said. “You guys can go ahead.”
The two lovebirds walked out of the dance studio; Reina tried to wrap her arm around the turtle’s shoulder, chuckling, while Eri kept on taking the yankii’s hand and dropping it down, grumbling to herself.
“Are you going to stick around with me, Risa?” Ai asked.
“Yeah, I have time,” the bean replied. “Your joke was pretty over-the-top for Kameha, but it
was pretty funny, I’ll give you that.”
“I try,” Ai said, flipping her hair in an exaggerated way. “But Eri liked it, I know she did.”
“She seemed… happy in her own way…” Risa said slowly.
“You wanna try?”
“Sure— wait, what?”
Without another word, Ai kicked the boom box alive again. The song started from the same place as the previous time: the last chorus.
“Woah, woah, woah,” Risa said, slowly backing away from the smiling idol. “Wait a minute, wait a minute, Ai!”
If you dance like that towards me, what the hell am I supposed to do? It’s like candy right in front of you, but you can’t take it! But Ai just smirked and placed her hand on Risa’s shoulder, causing the bean to freeze in place. She ran her hand over her collar bone as she walked in a circle around the younger girl. She took her hand and placed it on her own face before she slid down into a crouch.
Risa covered her cheek with her free hand: it was burning up. Ai sprung up again and did a side wave with her back to Risa’s chest. But she could still see the bean’s blushing face through the mirrors.
The “na na na”s started again, and Ai started to briskly walk around the flustered girl, letting her hand slip from one body part to another. She played with Risa’s hair, then her fingers, then her shoulder, then her neckline. Risa could feel her skin burn anywhere and everywhere that Ai touched. The song started to near its end.
“
Wait a minute…” Risa thought. “
The finale of Reina’s dance was…”
On the last beat, Ai shot her head forward and stopped right in front of Risa’s face, their lips only half an inch away. They’re eyes met: Risa could see the darkness and sincerity in the older girl’s eyes… what did it mean?
“
She won’t… will she?”
Ai stared at the younger girl for a little longer, then smiled sadly. She craned her neck and placed her lips on Risa’s forehead, and kept it there. The younger girl closed her eyes as she felt her forehead burn.
After what seemed like a couple milliseconds, when in reality it was a little more than that, Ai slowly backed away. She looked at Risa’s flustered face. The bean looked away, biting down on her lips.
“I won’t apologize,” Ai said in a low voice. “I’m not sorry at all.”
“… You don’t need to be,” Risa whispered back.
“That’s good,” Ai grinned. “Because I don’t feel like I did anything wrong.”
“You didn’t,” Risa whispered again. “It’s perfectly… fine.”
Ai smiled again, which allowed the bean to smile back. The leader gently placed her hand on Risa’s shoulder.
“We better go now,” she said. “I have to close up here. You can go wait by the elevator, if you’d like.”
“Okay,” Risa replied.
She turned around and walked out of the studio. She pressed the button of the elevator, which started to move from the first floor. She touched her forehead and sighed.
“
I can still feel her warmth,” Risa thought. “
I… I think I love her more than I thought I did. But… how does Ai feel about me?”
Meanwhile, the High-Queen leader unplugged the boom box and gathered her sweater.
“
I’m sorry, Sayumin,” Ai thought. “
But I don’t think I’ll be able to keep my promise with you. I need Risa more than I thought I did… and I don’t plan on waiting any longer.”
