"Beginner" certified as first million single since 2007

Just before the release of AKB48's latest single "Beginner" two weeks ago, it was announced that more than 1 million copies were being shipped. On November 10, the Recording Industry Association of Japan officially certified that it has shipped 1 million copies, becoming the group's first single to reach that milestone. The last single to achieve a certified million was Masafumi Akikawa's "Sen no Kaze ni Natte" in August 2007. "Beginner" already sold approximately 827,000 copies in its first week, setting a new record as a female group. In its second week, the single sold roughly an additional 64,000 copies to put its total sales at around 891,000 copies, as it edges closer to a potential 1 million in actual sales.

My Spanish isn't good enough to even translate anything posted on the FaceBook page but I do see AKB mentioned in it.

AKB48 is one of the most popular idol groups out of Japan, and they’ve performed twice in America and have fans worldwide.  I’m sure this theater troupe turned idol group never thought they would have die-hard fans, much less people who want to be like them, but it seems like both are true.

A group of girls from Mexico who call themselves “Las Famosas Inalcanzables“, which means “The Unreachable Famous Ones” in Spanish, were recently seen performing an adaptation of AKB48’s “Beginner“, which they have titled, “Champu Para Tus Ojos (Shampoo For Your Eyes)“.

While many are saying they plagiarized the song, it says in the beginning of the video that it is an adaption, and some are even calling it a parody.  Regardless, “Las Famosas Inalcanzables” have appeared on Spanish television performing “Champu Para Tus Ojos”, and news has since traveled all the way to Japan.

OMG Magical Yuko-- Her tie comes off- I thought she had it tied around her mic but at the end it seemed like she was the only one without her tie- then it's back on for Aitakatta! It's gone by 1min in~

I wonder if they'll hit 1mil sales in afew weeks or if sales will die down too much before that~ ;  u ;

yeah basically her tie gets caught on her mic, she carries on. There's a dance move where she pulls it off(well her arm goes away and she yanks the tie off) she must've tied it back on when the rest of akb48 ran on.
lol takamina's mic is definitely on, you can hear her and someone else scream/squeak when they're running from one side of the stage to the other in aitakatta.
