^ I think it's a mixture- the chorus sounds like the single so I think they're lipsincing there- but there are some lines like right at the end and some duet lines that are definetly sung live!~

Girl group AKB48‘s latest single “Beginner” was featured at the K-1 MAX Final on November 8. The song was used as the opening entrance song for MMA fighter Ishii Satoshi. Satoshi is a Japanese judoka and MMA who won the gold medal in Olympic Judo at Beijing in 2008.

He currently holds a record of 3 wins and 1 losses, with the most recent win over “The Mad Dog Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata (record 4 wins and 10 losses) at the K-1 MAX.

So, they haven't officially sold 1 million copies yet?
What was the deal with the million thing? Was the big news that the song shipped a million copies? I always got confused with this.

^ Yeah they shipped out over a million because they estimated the single would sell that way-- basically- It came out that they were releasing so many copies which suggests to everyone it's going to do so well meaning it got all over the news~!

The sales being so high probably partly had something to do with the news-- I mean, if you're a fan of AKB48 but don't buy their single much but you hear they might have the highest first week sales/selling single ever in Japan it would probably make you want to support them by buying one or two copies- not to mention people who're just hearing about them and wanted to check it out after seeing the article!

^If you include downloads then yes they have, oricon doesn't include downloads(doesn't even include all physical sales, only certain shops)
