I thought the PV was hot.

I watched it last night and the night before instead of studying. hehe Ai definitely wins for hottest (as usual), especially with that bouncy-ass ponytail. JunJun's pretty hot too~ Spent some time just watching her~

Why they don't post HD versions of their stuff I'll never understand.

I can't say the video is "horrible" or anything...the worst I can say is that it looks like the standard stuff H!P's been doing for the past few years, which isn't bad, but isn't impressive or new either. It's just...okay I guess? And I suppose I'm just being weird here, but I kinda prefer the bright dance outfits over the fluffy elegant dresses...although the boots are still iffy.

Hearing the song again, I've decided that I like it. Like the video, it's nothing impressive, but it works, and the sudden stops bring a nice subtle change to the usual formula. But it seems like Morning Musume has become H!P's "boring" group, whereas with other recent singles C-ute gave us something semi-aggressive, Berryz returned to another funky track, and Mano and S/mileage being upbeat and genki. Personally I'm okay with sticking with what works and I always respect consistency, but I know other people have a problem with this sense of predictability, and I'll concede that it would be nice if the flagship group had more spark to their music (though I'm also convinced that if recent MM songs were released years ago they'd probably be better received, but that's another discussion entirely).

But something hopefully all of us agree on (plus it just deserves more emphasis): Ai with the ponytail is awesome.

I love this song. It took a second listen, but I'm hooked

It's a little different from the sounds they've had with Seishun and onna ga medatte naze ikenai... those two, I honestly never really got into :/

The starts and stops of the song are awesome, and I hope Tsunku follows this up with another single that continues to experiment with stuff like that...

As for the PV, I'm not going to sit here and nitpick... sure it could've been more original, better directed, the choreography too. But I'm really just enjoying it all as it is. I wonder how many more singles I'm going to follow before I'm through with Momusu (hopefully not in a long time!). ^__^

I'm very slightly disappointed that Eri & the pandas did not get as much screen time and solo lines as they probably deserve (I don't mind Ai getting a lot... but Reina? I feel like I've had plenty of her already, please more of the others...). But whatever, at least they got something.

Oh, and contrary to some opinions I've been hearing, I rather like Ai's simple (and very bouncy) high ponytail.

Looks like the single's on pace to finish at #6 for the week, despite sales numbers comparable to the last three singles. I guess that's expected when you release at the same time as KAT-TUN, Arashi, AAA, SKE48, and Kobukuro. But on a more positive (and essentially more important) note, it's on pace to surpass Seishun Collection for first week sales (34K), possibly for total sales as well (40K).

Looking at both sales performance and the songs themselves, it's kind of an interesting way to close the book on the "Panda era" of Momusu, pretty much ending in the opposite way it started: an energetic pounding sound (Onna ni Sachi Are/Lullaby Game), a happy song that didn't sell well (Mikan/Seishun Collection), a rhythmic '90s style beat arranged by Daichi Suzuki (Resonant Blue/OgMNI), a gimmicky dance song (Pepper Keibu/Kimagure Princess), and a song about relationships (Naichau Kamo/Nanchatte Renai), with Shouganai Yume Oibito sitting perfectly in the middle as the only song to reach #1. Funny how that works out.

Maybe the next single will feature angry lyrics and the second coming of Yossy?
