OMG I really need to check out new stories more often!! :banghead:

So I had a lot of things to say... but this new chapter just changed a lot. Still, I'll try to start from the beginning. So... yeah! Another Berryz writer!! :D We need to stick together as a rare breed. And not just that... but MiyaSaki too!!! :cow: And it's all written quite well!! Anyway, I mean, sure MiyaSaki aren't actually together at the moment, but the first few chapters was undeniable MiyaSaki fluff. Speaking of them not being together... before we get into the stuff from the newer chapter...

Let me see if I can get this straight:
1. Chinami and Risako love Captain, but they're beautiful people and are willing to just make Saki happy by trying to get her back with Miya somehow. Y'know it'd be perfect if they ended up together as well? Oh, and Risako used to like Miya too...

2. Miyabi and Airi are girlfriends, though Miya obviously harbors love deep inside for Saki (more on this later), and Airi seems to realize it at least a bit.

3. Maimi loves Airi, but everyone thinks Saki and Maimi are kinda together. Leader

I think that's it? That chapter where all that was presented was a bit confusing. XD And now.. the new chapter! Which was like :shocked... Although... I knew you had to be going somewhere with it all. After chapter one I was all ready to say "Well, you write well and it's a nice sweet MiyaSaki romance, but... there really isn't much behind it..." But then I saw some of your following comments, and the next chapters, and I realized no, you really are that great, because the depth is there too... and more depth than I would even have imagined! I kind of wonder how the whole dream power plot will flow and connect with the romance though (which you had set up very well). If you connect them well too... it could be so awesome!

Anyway, I said I would come back to something a bit ago, didn't I? Miya and the love she still had for Saki... Something you didn't lay out clearly yet, but when Ai told Saki that she had visited Miya's dream... So Miya was dreaming about being at Saki's house and walking to their private place... Mhm, definitely  there. :) I just hope the others don't get hurt!!! Though I suppose you've set that up well also since Airi can go to Maimi  And I've talked about the others...

*ahem* I've probably written too much here... But I'm just so happy to see a fic like this.

Who's the mysterious figure at the end? Tsunku? Or some evil force that'll affect things later on!? :shocked

Please keep writing. :D

@rndm: I would guess Momo's dreaming about being a princess, of course.

Tsunku has given these powers to the leaders of H!P how can he possibly do that, Is he like the first navigator or something? and who was the creepy man at the end 'a new navigator has appeared?' it was kinda freaky!!! is that Momo's concience or something in a 'human' form?

So if Saki entered Miya's dream that meant that Miya was the one dreaming about being at the sunflowers with Saki so Miya does remember what the sunflowers meant then?

I wonder if Maimi has this power yet or if it was dormant like Saki's was?

@rndmnwierd Yup, rokun was right about Momo's dream. I think I was like this  when I read your question about Tsunku.

@rokun Didn't expect you to comment on my fic.  :D Would you have still commented if I hadn't put up the  :shocked chapter?  XD You pretty much got the chapter where I introduced all the crazy love.  :yep: Sorry about making it confusing, I knew it would be but I couldn't think of another place to stick all that in where it wouldn't be awkward  :banghead: and I was playing with my dog while writing that part  :P.  By the way, didn't I say in my first post that it would take a couple chapters before anything remotely interesting popped up? :sweatdrop: I love long comments . Because of you, I feel like throwing in some more twists to the romance part.

@abok Has your brain exploded yet? XD Oh well, you found it interesting so it doesn't matter even if it did, right?  :D

@kano-chan I feel that I must somehow make you find love in the pairing.  :yep:

@ayase We'll see who Captain and Miya end up with. I'm pretty sadistic and a bit of a masochist when it comes to pairings. I'll tell you something though. Originally, I had planned for Miya to be with Rii in the beginning but then I was brainwashed by Berryz DVD Magazine Vol. 16 where Captain was Rii's girlfriend. That was just

@oddball Can I just make him godly or something? My laziness is really tempted to do just that. Uhhhhh... Miya....Well, I hope this chapter answers your questions. By the way, that's scary... "something in a 'human' form"  That reminds me of Berry Beautiful. Which also reminds me, that I want to see an update soon for that.  :yep:

So this might or might not be the last update for a while because I have to go through my stupidly self-inflicted annual week of hell before my school year starts. Procrastination = 2 novels to read and write about in 5 days. :banghead: What have I been doing all summer?... Anyways, I really was tempted to just make Tsunku godly because I totally forgot how he actually gave him the powers. But I think I might piss readers and myself off if I did that so I made something up today. Sorry if there are any holes in the story. I don't usually proofread.  :sweatdrop: This is why I like questions. As for the mysterious figure at the end of the last chapter, I'll leave that to be explained in another chapter but I will tell you guys something. The figure isn't from Berryz Koubou. I doubt I left enough information so far for anybody to figure out who and/or what the figure is. I tried to make sure that it wouldn't easily be discovered unless you are super crazy at analyzing and predicting while you're reading. Alright, I'm done ranting. Here's the next chapter.

Chapter 6

Ai awoke to find Saki staring at the ceiling. “Are you alright? I know this can all be overwhelming. I’m impressed you’ve been so calm.” Ai asked.

“You’re wrong.” Saki responded politely. “I’m just a little better at controlling myself than other people.”

Ai realized the girl was shaking a bit as she sat up. “I’m still impressed though. When I found out about all this, I freaked out and started babbling on and on about how it was impossible. The only reason I finally decided to calm down was because Mikitty, or Fujimoto-san, gave me a vehement glare everytime I interuppted her explanation.” Ai scratched her head while recollecting about her first time Navigating.

“To tell the truth, even I don’t know the full extent of our power. Mikitty’s departure from Morning Musume was pretty sudden so she didn’t get to really teach me anything besides the basics of Navigating. Even so, I’ll try to answer all of your questions now. I realize I haven’t really helped explain exactly what happened in your case. So, what do you want to start with?” Ai smiled and waited for the first question.

Saki thought about it for a few moments before she decided she would just start at the beginning and work her way down to details about last night. “You said that Tsunku-san ‘bestowed’ this power on us… “

“Now that I think about it, ‘bestowed’ might not have been the best word to use. I guess the word ‘unlock’ would be more fitting.”

“So you mean that we already had this power within us? Does everybody?”

Ai spoke slowly so that Saki would be able to comprehend everything more easily. “In a way, yes. Everybody has the power of Navigation deep within them but it is locked away. The average human cannot access the power though, which is why Tsunku-san had to unlock it for us. Since we’re not conscious when he does this, I’ll give you information about it based on what he has told me. Tsunku-san truly is a weird character. He’ll get obssessed with anything he finds interesting. Something that caught his interest was a book describing the power of Navigation. After some researching and studying about Navigation from about a hundred other books, he learned how to unlock it. The key to unlocking the power was hypnosis. He started learning hypnosis since the introduction of the 2nd generation of Morning Musume, but it wasn’t until the 4th generation that his skill was advanced enough to unlock the power for Nakazawa-san. He unlocked mine after he called me into the office to pronounce me as the next leader of Morning Musume and he told me he unlocked the power for the rest of you during the recording of High-King’s ‘Destiny Love.’ You probably don’t remember because you had to be unconscious when he unlocked it. He most likely just asked you to relax to improve your singing ability and then hypnotized you.”

“Why didn’t he just unlock the power for himself? Why us?”

“He thought it’d be kind of creepy if a middle-aged man went into the dreams of young girls. I know I’d be scarred if I ever found Tsunku-san invading my dreams. So he gave the power to the ones that he thought would be able to handle it, the leaders. We, as leaders of our groups, have the responsibility to use this power wisely and for the sake of our members. Although, he told me that he hadn’t planned on unlocking the power for the rest of you until the Elder Club graduated. He was probably afraid that your groups would feel more pressured after the graduation of a mass of senpai.”

"So that explains how and why we have this power… but how exactly does this power work?”

“The answer to that question was something I actually had to look up by myself because I started to space out when Tsunku-san started talking about all the book he had read about Navigation. What Tsunku-san unlocked was basically the power for our conscious mind to override our unconscious mind. The power allows us to actually recognize that we are in a dream and travel freely around the dreamer’s world by syncing our brain waves with the dreamer’s. The dreamer’s unconscious mind creates the realm while the subconscious controls the actual dream. Since you weren’t aware of Navigation yet, I’m going to assume that you probably accidentally entered Miyabi-chan’s dream by wishing to meet in your dreams. Miyabi-chan’s subconscious felt threatened somehow last night and decided to wake her up before anything happened. That’s why there was a violent physical reaction while you were awakening. It’s as if she had just awaken from a horrible nightmare and you experienced the same thing because your brain waves are synced until you wake up.”

“Wait…Miyabi felt threathened by me? Why? All I did was ask her to recall what happened that day.” Saki asked. She wasn't even thinking about how supernatural everything about Navigation was, all she cared about was what it could tell her about Miyabi's dream. She was saddened that Miyabi’s subconscious had found her a threat.

“I don’t know if you’ll like the answer to that question since this dream seems precious to you.”

“…I want to know” Saki said insistently. “… I need to know” she said, this time a little softer.

“She didn’t remember the place when she woke up until you told her about it, right?” Ai stared at the wall as she sat up.

Saki shook her head.

Although she didn't see Saki shake her head, Ai took the silence as an answer. Ai looked at Saki and started hesitantly. “She didn’t feel threatened by you exactly but threatened at the possibility of remembering something. Although she seems okay with remembering the place itself, something must have happened there that she doesn’t want to remember… A memory that has been surpressed to the point where it began to be repressed.”

Ai noticed that Saki was now struggling to hold back her tears and decided that it was best to wrap things up for the night.

“There are a couple last things I need to tell you. First off, Maimi still hasn’t triggered her power so don’t tell her anything about it. Secondly, I’m not sure how far your range for Navigating is. It takes practice to increase the distance you can be from the dreamer while Navigating, which is why I made sure that all the dreamers we would possibly need were nearby tonight. Also, you can’t navigate through your own dreams. At least I haven’t been able to, but I’ve already told you that I don’t know everything about Navigation. Most importantly, be careful what you do in dreams. I have never actually interacted with a dreamer before because I’m afraid of the effects it could possibly have on the person… I think that’s enough for tonight. The rest of the members of your group will be allowed to return to their rooms shortly. You can contact me anytime you have questions. Although, I’m pretty sure you’ll figure out things on your own and surpass me in no time. Get some rest and don’t think too much tonight”

Once Ai had left the room, Saki felt her tears flow down her cheeks. She sat in the center of the bed and hugged her knees. Ai’s words about Miyabi’s dream repeatedly ran through her head. Why?… Why would Miya want to forget our first kiss?

After several minutes of crying, Saki calmed herself down enough to leave the room and direct herself to the elevator. She was about to open the door to her room when she turned and started walking down the hall. I need to know…

Oh dang! Their first kiss??

The reason why Miya wants to forget is probably because she already have Airi?  :huhuh

I think I like MiyaSaki, but I really want MiyAiri because I've never read a fanfic with a MiyAiri couple.  It's always MiyaSaki or MiyaRii. :huhuh

And yes, make me find love in this pairing! :inlove:

XD! Tsunku invading the girls' dreams!!! It's good that he decided not to do that, because I'm afraid it would have ended up something like this:

XD

Anyway, being more serious... lol. We learn many more things in this chapter! That moment Saki was so concerned about on that hill was when she and Miya kissed! (flashback pls btw ^^) And Miya is repressing it... That's sad. :( Then again... What exactly happened between them? Why aren't they together? If Miya thought Saki rejected her, or was interested in someone else instead... that could definitely be reason for repression. Or it could be for Airi's sake like what kano-chan said. ^_^ Which that would be nice of her. You seem to make all the Berryz girls very nice in fact. XD

I'm glad we got some explanation here, but glad you got back to the romance at the end... Don't wanna get too bogged down in explanation detail.  :thumbsup

More crazy pairings is good for me! Did I say before that you remind me of myself in that way? lol. I tend to throw girls together all sorts of ways.. though I don't mean to since I do have my set favorites too ;_; Then again.. that might be a more recent thing too. Oh, and speaking of crazy pairings, if you made a bit of SakiAi you might even be able to reel Estrea in here. XD Although... the way you did Ai was interesting. Do you follow MM as much as you do Berryz?

So Tsunku learned this power aswell hm if anyone can do it I wonder if there are any 'secrect' navigators perhaps that man in the previous chapter was partof some kind of navigator police force?

So Maimi dosn't know she has the power yet, I wonder is she will unlock it in a dream with Airi?

Hmm so Ai never interacted with a persn but Saki did with Miya in her fist navigator dream? I wonder if this will have any effects on Miya. I alo wonder why she wants to forget her first kiss with Saki, has Saki hurt Miya in the past somehow but she dosn't remeber when or why, does Miya just think that Saki dosn't like her or was there something else that happened?

What? Did I miss this? Apparently I did, cuz I haven't commented. :sweatdrop:

So we get a little more in depth explanation of Navigation, in flighty Ai-chan style, and then a good luck?

But, noes! Why does Miya wanna ruin the MiyaSaki vibe? :(

@kano-chan I love all those pairings so let's see what my brain decides. It will probably depend on how I feel the day that I'm writing.  XD

@rokun Screw the flashback.  XD The title of this fic is Dreams. That picture of Tsunku...  :bleed eyes: Still stuck in my head. Get it out.  :banghead:

I might or might not be able to lure Estrea in here one day. We'll see what happens when MM actually starts playing bigger roles in the story.

@ayase Was that "hidoi na" directed at me getting rid of MiyaRii? XD I like Fujimoto too. We'll see how much she shows up in this fic. I'm not even sure myself.  Btw, RiiSaki

@abok Don't you just love how Maimi seems totally clueless sometimes? I mean in real life. XD Her airheadedness makes me love her.

@rnd Because I'm sadistic when it comes to my favorites? XD

This chapter is the longest chapter I've written so far. Partly because I'm not doing daily updates anymore due to school but mostly because I needed to get all this out of my brain. It was taking up space in there and I tend to change things too much unless it's already posted. Let's see... *rereads rant* blah blah blah... Alright, just to make sure you guys know. The italicized sentences are always Saki's thoughts in this chapter. Sorry about the first and last part of this chapter. The first part moves a little slow and my brain started to die a little near the end of writing this chapter. I wonder if anybody can figure out who the hell that is at the end of this chapter. Alright that's enough ranting for now, here's the next chapter.

Chapter 7

Momoko and Risako were asleep on the bed while the rest of the members, excluding Saki, were sitting around a table that was next to the window. Yurina and Maasa were sitting next to each other and listening to Maasa’s mp3 player while chatting quietly with each other. Chinami was looking out the window and scanning the streets for Saki every couple minutes. Miyabi had been staring out the window with a smile on her face that had remained the whole time they had been confined in Saki’s room. Chinami sighed in disappointment and turned her head. She noticed Miyabi and wondered why she was smiling.

“Hey, what’s with the stupid smile?” Chinami asked.

“What do you think Captain will bring with her when she gets back? I bet she went to go pick up a cake or a birthday present for me. She sure is taking a long time though.” Miyabi thought for a moment before shrugging and continuing to stare out the window.

Chinami became even more worried about Saki’s disappearance after remembering that Miyabi’s birthday was coming up in a couple of days. Satsuki-san, Saki’s manager, had told them that Ai had taken Saki and that they should all wait for her return here but had not told them any specific details. Chinami was worried that Miyabi might be right about what Saki was doing at the moment. What if she really was getting a cake or a present for Miyabi? Chinami thought that she should be with her if Saki happened to become saddened from thinking about Miyabi too much. She decided that she would ask Satsuki-san to at least tell her something about Saki’s whereabouts if she wasn’t allowed to go to Saki. She got up and started walking towards Satsuki-san, but stopped when she saw Satsuki-san check her phone. Satsuki-san got up from the chair she had placed at the entrance of the room. She carried the chair past Chinami and placed it next to the window. Maasa and Yurina removed their earphones when they saw Satsuki-san’s movement. Miyabi turned her attention from the window to Satsuki-san.

“It seems Takahashi-san and Shimizu-san are stuck in a bit of traffic so they have told me to relay their message to you. Shimizu-san says that you guys should probably just return to your rooms and shouldn’t wait up for her” Satsuki explained.

“But what about the surprise that you said Captain had for us?” Miyabi asked as her smile turned into a frown. The rest of the conscious girls looked at Miyabi for a second before staring questioningly at Satsuki.

“What surprise? I simply told you that Shimizu-san was in the company of Takahashi-san this evening. You were the ones that insisted on staying in here.”

“Then why were you preventing us from leaving by sitting at the door?” Maasa asked, trying to point out the obviousness of Satsuki-san’s lie.

“Just because I’m Shimizu-san’s manager doesn’t mean that I don’t care for the rest of you. I wanted to make sure nothing bad would happen to this group of pretty, young girls. Now wake the two on the bed and return to your rooms for the night.” Satsuki said as she exited the room.

Maasa was about to go after Satsuki-san to question her more, but Yurina pulled her back down to her chair and shook her head. Miyabi got up from her seat and walked towards the door.

“I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m going back to my room and nobody better disturb me for the remainder of the night.” Miyabi said and gave Chinami a warning glance before walking out the door.

“I guess we’ll go back to our room, too. Nee, Maasa?” Yurina said as she rose.

“I guess so. Let’s just go get some sleep.” Maasa said as she stood up and started walking with Yurina towards the door.

“WAIT! What am I supposed to do about these two?” Chinami asked as she pointed at the sleeping Risako and Momoko.

“Have fun dealing with them. Oyasumi.” Maasa called before Yurina closed the door.

Chinami scrunched up her face a bit and pouted as she turned to look at the two sleeping on the bed. She jumped on the bed, causing Momoko to awaken.

“You can go back to your room now, Momo.” Chinami said.

“Thanks a lot, Toku-san… I was having the best dream about Momo-hime just now.” Momoko grumbled before pouting.

“Great, then go back to your room and continue dreaming about being a princess”

Momoko shuffled her way out the room and back to her room. Chinami had only one more to deal with. She jumped up and down on the bed several more times before kneeling on the bed. Risako seemed sound asleep. Her breathing was slow and even her mouth was left slightly open.

“Rii-chan, I know you’re a heavy sleeper and all but this is just ridiculous. I know you’re awake so just sit up.” Chinami said as she stared at the girl.

A minute passed before Chinami’s intense stare became unbearable to Risako. Risako opened her eyes and sat up on the bed. “How did you know I was awake?”

“I saw you open your eyes when I jumped on the bed the first time. “Chinami asked curiously.

“I thought Momo would drag me out with her if I had woken up at the same time as her. I want to wait for Captain.” Risako explained.

“It’s fine. I’ll wait up for Captain. This is my room too anyways.”

“I’m not leaving.” Risako pouted.

Chinami thought about it for a second. Would she never get to have Saki for herself? She sighed and gave in. “Whatever. I’m tired so let’s just go to sleep. We’ll hear if Captain comes back or else we’ll wake up and call her if she’s not back in a couple hours.”

Risako nodded and almost immediately fell asleep. Chinami laughed at how fast Risako fell asleep and lay down next to the girl. “I hope you’re safe, Captain.” she mumbled as she drifted off to sleep as well.

A disappointed Miyabi was opening the door as she thought about Saki forgetting her birthday. She entered the room and tried to flip a light switch without realizing the lights were already on. She jumped at the sight of a person sitting in the middle of her bed. Miyabi calmed down when she realized it was only Saki. “I thought you were with Takahashi-san. Why are you here? Wait… How did you get in my room?” Miyabi questioned.

“I’m captain. I have access to the rooms of all the members.” Saki grinned. In one breathe, Saki explained, “And before you ask more questions, I don’t really want to deal with giving any explanations about what I’ve been doing tonight. So please don’t ask. I want to sleep in here tonight. You’ll let me right? After all, you owe me for waking me up yesterday.”

Miyabi stood at the foot of the bed, processing what Saki had just said. She took a closer look at Saki and realized that her eyes were red. Miyabi wanted to know why Saki had been crying. She wanted to find out who had made Saki cry and hunt them down for making her little captain cry. Even so, she knew it was best not to question Saki when she was like this. Saki would only refuse to explain or change the subject.

“I’ll just take that as a yes.” Saki said as she plopped down onto the bed and made herself comfortable.

Miyabi decided to believe that the older girl would tell her about her problem when she felt better. She smiled and jumped onto the bed. She rolled onto her side and faced Saki. “I’m tired but I’m kind of afraid to go to sleep.”

Miyabi did not notice Saki’s expression sadden at the thought of Miyabi’s dream. “It’s alright, Miya. It was just a dream. I’m sure nothing bad will happen. Besides, I’ll be here to protect you.” Saki forced a smile.

Miyabi could not help but be comforted by the smile. At the sight of Saki’s smile, Miyabi let herself feel the full effects of fatigue and immediately fell asleep.

Seeing that Miyabi had fallen asleep, Saki took hold of Miyabi’s hand and closed her eyes to begin Navigating. I’m sorry about this, Miyabi…

Saki opened her eyes to find herself standing on the stage of Saitama Super Arena. Apparently, all the members of Berryz Koubou dreamed of this stage. It was a momentous concert for them after all. As Saki scanned Miyabi’s dream world for the Sea of Dreams, she noticed something that resembled giant storm cloud. It was Miyabi’s subconscious trying to shroud the repressed memory.

Saki ran off the stage and stopped when she reached a blank part of Miyabi’s world. She remembered that she had to forge her own path to get around. Unfortunately, Ai had told her how to exactly do that. Saki closed her eyes and tried to imagine a path to the storm cloud. She opened them to find that there was no bridge but, nonetheless, decided to take her chances and step into the white. She lowered one foot into the whiteness and was mildly surprised to feel something that was concrete solid. She gathered all her courage and completely stepped out into the whiteness.

Saki’s heart beat faster with each step she took towards the shroud of darkness. She stopped when she was just one step away from entering the darkness. Saki reached out and touched the cloud made of turmoil. She felt chills run down her spine and started shaking uncontrollably. She decided she would have to deal with the unimaginable horror of proceeding through the cloud. She then backed up a couple steps and ran straight into the foul matter.

Saki was forced to slow down her pace as she continued through the darkness. She felt as if her heart would implode and the pain seemed to become more severe as she proceeded deeper into the darkness. She felt as if all the pain and sadness she had ever experienced was being built up within her. The part that scared Saki the most was the fact that she could also feel anger building up in her. She felt all the dark pent-up emotions being released from within her. It was as if Miyabi’s cloud of turmoil was forcing out Saki’s own feelings of turmoil.

Just as she began feeling that enduring the mix of dark emotions was becoming unbearable, Saki reached the memory. She collapsed onto the ground of the Sea of Dreams. Saki felt completely exhausted, physically and mentally, from what she had just went through. She was able to become unconscious when the sound of laughter re-energized her. She suddenly remembered the reason for her going through that unspeakable horror. She picked herself up and walked to the tree on the hill that overlooked the Sea of Dreams. From there, she could see her past self and Miyabi laughing next to the sunflower. Saki watched as her past self took Miyabi’s hand and led her over to sit under the tree. We were so happy, so why forget all this?

“Miya… Close your eyes, I want to give you your present.” Saki smiled.

“Do I have to close my eyes?” Miyabi chuckled.

“Yes, now close them.”

“Aye aye, Captain” Miyabi said as she closed her eyes.

After a few moments of hesitation, Saki lifted Miyabi’s hand and kissed the back of it.

“That’s it?” Miyabi opened her eyes and pouted.

“Shhh. Just keep your eyes closed.” Saki laughed and covered Miyabi’s eyes with her hand.

Miyabi complied with Saki’s order.

“A kiss on the hand to remind you that I will always be your knight in shining armor, Miyabi-hime.”

Miyabi giggled at the cheesiness of Saki’s comment, but felt herself blush nonetheless.

Saki then placed her hand on Miyabi’s cheek and placed a kiss on her forehead.

“A kiss on the forehead to bless you with sweet dreams.”

Saki took a breath to gather her courage and closed her eyes as she leaned forward to place her lips lightly on Miyabi’s. Saki was about to pull away when she felt Miyabi place her hand on her cheek and deepen the kiss.

Saki watched her past self and Miyabi kiss for what seemed like ages. She remembered that she didn’t want to let it end. After all, it was supposed to be the last time she would ever allow herself love Miyabi as anything more than a friend. She didn’t remember Miyabi being so reluctant to let the kiss end though.

The two finally parted when they ran out of air. They were both breathing heavily and Miyabi’s eyes were still closed.

“A special kiss to say 'Happy Birthday, Miya.'” Saki said as a gentle smile appeared on her face.

Miyabi finally opened her eyes and looked into Saki’s eyes.

Miyabi lowered her head to hide her blushing face. “Thank you”

They held hands and sat there in silence as they admired the sunflower that they had grown together. Saki was the one to break the silence after noticing that the sun was beginning to set.

“It’s getting late. I’ll walk you to the train station.” Saki said.

“It’s alright. I want to stay for a bit longer.” Miyabi responded, which made the Saki's smile widen.

Saki recalled the vow she had made. She had promised herself that she would love Miyabi with all her heart that day. She had promised that, once the sun set that day, she would forget about her love for Miyabi and let her go. Saki braced herself for what she knew would happen next.

Once the sun had set, Saki’s face saddened. Her eyes lost the glint of happiness that had just overwhelmed her minutes ago. She turned to look Miyabi in the eyes.

“Miya, thank you for everything. Thank you for being my first kiss. Thank you for letting me be selfish and taking your first kiss. Now I have something to tell you.” Saki said in a loving manner.

Miyabi was speechless for several seconds and was interuppted by Saki before she could respond.

“The reason that I asked you to spend today, the day before your birthday, with me is because I want you to spend your birthday with Airi.” Saki said while keeping as much emotion out of her voice as possible.

“Why Airin?” Miyabi asked curiously.

“I guess you still haven’t realized how much you love her. I see it in your eyes when you look at her, Miya. I notice the things you’re willing to do just to make her smile. The great thing is that I’m sure she loves you back. I want her to be happy and, more importantly, I want you to be happy. Since you two love each other, you should work hard to be with each other.” Saki said as she freed her hand from Miyabi’s.

“Ganbare! I’ll be supporting your love from the sidelines.” Saki made a fist and raised it up.

“I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to walk you to the station. My mom will get angry with me if I’m not home in like 10 minutes. I’ll see you soon, Miya.” Saki hugged Miyabi before running away.

Saki watched as her past self ran away with tears flowing down her cheeks, tears that went unnoticed by Miyabi. Saki turned back to observe Miyabi. It was time to find out why Miyabi wanted to forget this memory so badly.

A still speechless Miyabi rose and walked down the hill to the stand beside the sunflower. Saki followed and stood on the other side of the sunflower.

“Saki is right. I love Airi. She has to be right. She’s my captain after all so I should listen to her.”

Tears began to fall on the sunflower. She’s crying?

Miyabi wiped the tears from her face. “I’m crying?… Why?… Why am I crying?... Why?” she sobbed.

Saki watched Miyabi cry for several minutes before she couldn’t bear the sight anymore. She decided she would leave. Saki thought she had gotten the answer to her question. The reason that Miyabi wanted to forget was because she wanted to love Airi with all her heart.

After Saki left, a tiger walked up to the sunflower. The figure that had observed Saki’s Navigation lesson walked up to stand beside the tiger. The tiger was unlike anything that would be seen in a zoo. The tiger’s fur was completely black from head to tail. Its round, blue eyes had been watching Saki during her observation of this memory.

Suddenly, the black tiger spoke. The voice sounded like that of a human female, but had an animalistic quality to it. “So a new Navigator has appeared and, as expected, it happens to be Shimizu Saki.”

“What should we do now, senpai? Should we convince her to join us?” the girl standing beside the tiger asked.

“I doubt she’ll want to join us. After all, she’s already the captain of Berryz Koubou. After witnessing this though, who knows? The little captain’s wisdom and ability to read situations seems to fail when it comes to dealing with Miyabi-chan.”

The girl stared at Miyabi while trying to figure out what the tiger meant. After a couple seconds, a question that had been nagging the girl the whole night distracted her.

“Ummm, senpai…I’ve been wondering about why Takahashi-san make Tsugunaga-san’s memory crumble.” the girl asked.

“You’ve told me that she’s been training herself to handle it so that she won’t accidentally destroy any more important memories or dreams. Even so, I guess she still can’t completely control it. She lacks experience. So far, she’s only used it once to serve her own purposes. Just because you have power, doesn’t mean you know how to use it correctly,” the black tiger explained.

The girl adopted a look that made it seem like she did not understand a word the tiger had just spoken but nodded in comprehension nonetheless. “I see.”

“You’re too cute.” The black tiger purred.

The girl's face became red, which was accentuated by her fair skin.

The black tiger changed its tone and spoke with authority. “I want to find out what Saki-chan’s specialty is so mainly observe her for now while keeping tabs on Takahashi’s actions. It’s probably almost time for us to make our move.”

Ai... Made the stage crumble in Momoko's dream? How? And what effect will that have?

Who is the tiger and the girl? They don't really seem evil, so I'm a little wary of what they want and why they want Saki to join them.

Anyway, now that Saki knows, what will she do? Drive herself crazy with the thought that she probably could have had Miyabi, if at Airi's expense. Explore the others' dreams?

What so Saki loved Miya, kissed her and thyen told he she should be with Airi?!? :? It's clear that Miya obviously liked Capatain back then and probably thinks Saki didn't want her and so tries to surpress the memory, well thats my theory anyway.

I wonder what the importasnce is of having Ai make Momo's dream crumble?

Who are the tiger and the girl, are they navigators too or are they something else?

I wonder what Saki will do know knowing Miya's side of the story through that dream, what will happen if Miya finds out that Saki's been in her dreams will she get angry?

Wow...Captain kissed Miya and told her to celebrate with Airi... I mean, if she thinks Miya loves Airi, then why does she take her first kiss? Miya obviously liked Captain back then. Actually, both Captain and Airi. But that's just sad. :(

And I can't figure out who the tiger and the girl is. :mon dunno:

I hope the others aren't mad at Miya because Captain came to her room instead of telling everyone she's back. :(

Also curious about what they mean by Ai-chan doing such and such for her own purposes... She's not bad, right? :(

@rndm Did I not make the tiger and girl evil enough? I'm just kidding. *shrugs* Who knows what they want. I feel like making Ai badass so ssshhhhh about the how. XD

@oddball I'd be pissed if I found out somebody invaded my dreams without my permission. She'll find out sooner or later. I think it depends on my mood whether Miya will be pissed or not.XD

@abok I see you caught on about Ai's use of her power. Hmmm, I'm not giving any hints to answer that one.  Should I make the story sadder or not? XD

@kano-chan I like making my characters so blinded by love that they make readers go "why are they so stupid? " Is it working?
Would I make Ai evil?... Maybe. *shrugs* I swear the story changes depending on how I feel when I write it. XD

@ayase  :mon curtain: Kowai... I was thinking about starting another fic. Maybe there'll be some MiyaRii.  *reads rest of the comment* ... On second thought, let me just go make the tiger eat Airi and Risako in this story. XD

After thinking about the previous chapters for a bit, I realized a couple things. First, The way I write my story sounds a bit robotic and needs more detail. Next, how and why the hell does Captain sound so whiny to me in my own story?... Oh well, at least I get to try to improve now that I've noticed.  :D Yay! I can totally start making Captain sound less whiny after this next chapter.  It's a short update but I tried to make it epic.  :nervous Emphasis on the word "tried"

Dreams [Chapter Eight]

EDIT: Oh no.... My stupidity made me delete a sentence at the last paragraph of this chapter.  :banghead:

Chapter 8

It had taken only one dream to make her heart bloom with hope and it had taken only one dream to make her heart wither in pain.  Saki sat on the bed hugging her knees while she watched Miyabi sleep. The younger girl seemed to be so much more content now that she wasn’t dreaming about Saki.

If Miyabi can be happy without me, why can’t I be happy without Miyabi?…She never needed me to be happy.

If Miyabi can forget so easily, why can’t I forget about our love?… But then she never loved me.

Saki continued to go back and forth in her mind about in this fashion until she remembered what she had resolved the night before their kiss. She should never have broken her promise to forget. She should have never discovered that Miyabi had cried after she had left.

Saki still couldn’t understand why Miyabi had cried. The image of a crying Miyabi flashed through Saki’s mind. Saki decided that she didn’t want to think about it. She decided that she would once again take up her resolve to let Miyabi and Airi live happily together. Even after deciding to forget, the image of Miyabi continued to linger in her mind. Saki needed to stay away from Miyabi for a while.

Saki leaned down to give Miyabi a farewell kiss. She stopped when their lips were only centimeters apart. If Saki were to truly forget about Miyabi, she couldn’t make the same mistake as she had last time. She couldn’t let her feelings be released in a kiss as she had last time. A single teardrop fell on Miyabi’s face as Saki pulled away and fled the room crying.

Remembering that she had the key, Saki rushed to the room that Ai had brought her to earlier that night. To Saki’s surprise, Ai was sleeping on the bed inside of the room. “Takahashi-san?”

Ai began to move when she heard a voice in the room with her. She rubbed her eyes to attempt to clear her vision. “Eh, Saki-chan. Why are you here?” she asked groggily.

Saki quickly wiped the tears from her face and tried to think of an excuse. “I left something in the room earlier. Why are you here, Takahashi-san?”

“There’s really no need for formalities, Saki-chan. Just call me Ai-chan or maybe just Ai.”

“Why are you here?”

“It didn’t feel right to leave. I came back to check on you.”

“I’m fine now and I think I’ll be returning to my room now” Saki said nervously as she turned to exit the room.

“Saki-chan” Ai called her to a stop. “It’s alright if you stay.”

“…”

“I know you want to deal with this alone. I know the burden of being a leader. I want to help. You can talk to me about it.”

“I’m sorry, Takahashi-san. I don’t want to talk about it. I want to just forget. Unless you can magically make the pain disappear, I don’t think you can help me.” Saki said as tears started to well up in her eyes again. She fell to her knees and broke down crying.

Ai walked over to Saki and placed her hand on Saki’s shoulder. “I can help you forget,” she said hesitantly.

“How?” Saki sobbed.

Ai helped Saki rise and led her to the bed. “I have my ways,” Ai responded nervously.

“… Then help me,” Saki said softly.

“I think it’s best if you just talked it out,” Ai said, regretting that she had mentioned her ability.

“Help me, Takahashi-san” Saki pleaded.

“This would be irreversible. Are you sure you want to forget?” Ai said, still hoping that Saki would change her mind.

“I want to forget” Saki said determinedly.

“I promise I’ll make you happy again. Trust me.” Ai smiled at Saki as she started to caress the top of her head.

Saki felt awkward, but comfortable with her senpai’s touch. She placed all her faith in Ai’s words. An image of Miyabi crying over the sunflower flashed in her mind one last time before Saki drifted into sleep. I’m sorry, Miyabi.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ai found herself in the middle of a field of blue flowers. She took a deep breath and smelled the air. It had been a while since she had last been in such a peaceful setting. Unfortunately, this was not the time to relax and enjoy the view.

Ai started looking around for the dream Saki and found her talking happily to Miyabi as they stood next to a sunflower. “I guess I’m in the right place,” Ai said as she began walking towards the pair.

As Ai neared the sunflower, she watched the two girls walk over to a tree on a nearby hill. Ai stood beside the sunflower as she watched the memory that Saki wanted to forget so badly.

“How sweet,” Ai said as she saw Saki kiss Miyabi’s hand.

“Kawaii,” Ai exclaimed as Miyabi was kissed on the forehead.

Seeing the last kiss that Saki shared with Miyabi made Ai feel a mix of awkwardness and sadness. “Both of them want to forget this?” Ai thought that Saki and Miyabi seemed obviously in love with each other in this dream so why would they both want to forget.

Multiple images of the crying Saki ran through Ai’s mind as she saw the dream Saki run off in tears. “I promised to help her forget and I will,” Ai said with determination.

Ai surveyed the landscape of the dream and discovered that the sunflower was the center of the dream. She stared at the sunflower in a flurry of emotions as she thought about the pain that Saki was enduring from the memory of the place.

“I’ll help you forget everything, Saki-chan.”

Ai placed her hand over the sunflower. She closed her eyes and began to focus. The land began to crumble outward from the sunflower in the shapes of various puzzle pieces. As the last edges of Saki’s dream collapsed, Ai opened her eyes and smiled at accomplishing her goal. She looked around to admire her feat but her smile faded and eyes widened as she noticed something.

Saki’s whole world was crumbling. The memories were starting to collapse from the power that was resonating throughout the dream world with Ai and the sunflower as the focal point.

Ai panicked. She closed her eyes tried to focus on the thought of stablizing the world. Ai opened her eyes and began to run towards Saki’s remaining memories as she realized she had failed. Instead of stabilzing, the world was falling apart even faster now.

As the last remnants of Saki’s memories fell to the depths of her mind, Ai turned around. She took one last look at the sunflower that stood alone in the mass of nothingness. A single petal flew over to where Ai was standing and disintegrated from a touch of Ai's hand.

"Not again..." Ai said as tears started to flow down her cheeks. Ai watched as the sunflower slowly faded away and the ground it stood on became the last piece of Saki’s memories to fall.
