Olympic city wages hi-tech war on spitting

Foreign visitors to Beijing are often dismayed to have to dodge the phlegm spattering the paths to the Temple of Heaven -- and just about everywhere else in the Chinese capital. But with the 2008 Olympics fast approaching, a new government anti-spitting campaign aims to clean up the city's streets and manners.

its about time they do that not just for the olympics. whenever i go back to HK, the old ppl there often spits. its just very disgustin. no manners at all. i can only imagine the mainland china would be worst.

Its very disgusting when they spit and someone steps on their germs. Maybe the Chinese government ads on improving their manners have subliminal messages hidden in the videos.
