HI! :cow: Hmm, I don't know what to say. Lol. Well, there're some people that said that I would make a good fanfic writer, but I doubt that. :lol: So here goes nothing~! I wrote this for you guys~

Ahaha, jk. I actually started this story quite a while back, but never got the inspiration to continue it. It's not that I don't know where it's gonna go, but since I'm not a writer and all, it's quite hard to put thoughts out on paper? Maybe I'll find some inspiration to continue this on here. :) Life would be a whole lot easier if I could just summarize everything instead. Although I do have the whole thing planned out from the start... so don't hope to lead me astray. :roll:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Prologue

"Takahashi AI!" yelled Tsunku.

"Yes, sensei." Ai gulped as she trod slowly to Tsunku-san's desk, fearing for the worst.

Panic begins to register through Ai's body as she reaches the aforementioned desk; her heart seemed as if it was beating a thousand miles per hour.

"Out of everyone, I would never have thought that I would ever need to say this to you... my best student." Tsunku starts.

No... Tears began streaming down Ai's face.

"You have failed me and this club, Takahashi."

No... Her heart began to go on overdrive. This can't be happening to me...

"As of today, you are officially fired as leader of Hello! Project."

"NO!" Ai cries out. Her heart is crumbling from the pressure as the reality of the situation sinks in. The pain in her heart is now unbearable. My life is ruined...

Amidst the sound of her sobs, Ai hears a faint voice in the distance...

"Ai... AI! Are you awake yet? You're late for school!" called her mother.

Jolting awake, Ai looks around to find herself in the safety of her warm and comfortable bed. Her hand automatically shifts over to cover her heart, as she tries to catch her breath and normalize the beat of it.

"Phew, it was just a dream," Ai sighs out in relief.

Rubbing the sleepiness and tears from her eyes, she glances over at the clock on her bedside table. 7:30am... 7:30AM?!? I really am late today.

Rummaging through her dresser, Ai quickly throws on the first thing she finds, not caring about how messy she looks, while flying through her early morning routine. Amidst all of the chaos, one thing is for sure though, and that is everything must at least be color-coordinated.

Zooming down the stairs while making sure that she wouldn't trip and fall, Ai heads towards her intended destination, however, not before she receives an off-handed remark from her father.

"Ai. Why are you dressed so messily today? You look so unpresentable."

Ai stares at him in disbelief, until time finally caught up with her, or shall I say, she finally caught up with time. What does he expect? In all truth, she IS late today. Since when did one have to look 'presentable,' with a full-blown outfit, for school? She was pretty sure a t-shirt and some jeans were just as presentable.

However, she should be fairly glad that the one and only time that she's late for school, just so happened to fall during the one week out of the month which street clothes were allowed instead of uniforms. I guess I'm quite lucky in that aspect.

Arriving at the said destination, Ai sneaks into class seconds before the monotonous school bell tolled, signaling the beginning of another repetitive and uneventful day, a day in the life of Takahashi Ai, president of the school's most famous club and the epitome of perfectionism itself.

----------------------------------------------------

Sorry if it's quite short! I was trying to decide if I should post chapter one along with this or not, since that's quite short too... but then I decided it flows much better like this? So that's the prologue~ I wonder if you guys can figure out where this story is gonna go. Any guesses? XD It's quite complicated, IMO.

@rndmweird: OMG~ It is an honor to have you comment on my fic. :theking Hehe, I guess my hook worked~

@fallenxangel24952: Haha, thanks. There's actually a point to her being late, an underlying meaning behind the text? read on and see... :P

@oddball: LOL! I would never do that to Aichan. :lol:

@kano-chan: Yep, yep, it does sound like a dream, doesn't it? Thanks~ I'll be looking forward to continuing then!

@SarangAi: OMG! YO~! Have you started on your next fic yet? :wub:

@Fushigidane: Haha, I guess you're the same as me then. XD I usually only read something if it has my favorite pairings. ;) I'll have to say that it's quite complicated in here though.  :sweatdrop:

@Liben: Aww, thanks! it's really that interesting? :huhuh OMGG, btw I love your siggy! :D YUI<33333 me ish a huge YUI fan. Are you on YL? lol.

w00t~ :cow: Thank you for all the comments everyone! I guess my hook in the prologue worked out. ;) Hmm, but I don't know how much more interesting the rest of the fic will get though. :nervous We'll see. As for the pairings, if you know me, you'll know my preferences and they will definitely be there. I guarantee it. :hee:

Chapter 1

Slipping into her assigned seat like it was nothing out of the ordinary, Ai is regarded loudly by her so-called best friend, Michishige Sayumi, and her slow turtle sidekick, Kamei Eri.

"Oi, Aichan! You're late today! That's so unexpected of you, miss perfect!" exclaimed Sayu, disrupting the class during the daily morning routine.

Miss Perfect, how many times has she heard this throughout her lifetime? Quite frankly, too many times to count and it was starting to annoy the heck out of her. Ai brushed that thought aside and robotically plastered her usual smile on her face.

Day in and day out, life in it's entity is unchanging, a vicious, never-ending cycle for one Takahashi Ai. Seeing the same faces everyday, greeting the same people, smiling the same programmed smile... life seemed so pointless to her. Everything in her life was just a reused and regurgitated form of things in her past. It is as if all we do is live our monotonous lives and eventually reach that inevitable end of death. What exactly do we live for? Why exactly are we created by a higher form of power to roam upon this earth? For a form of entertainment? Or a sadistic intent?

Ai stared blankly off into space, a look that would rival her alien-communicating friend, zoning out completely from her surroundings, as she pondered deeply over her thoughts.

"Earth to Aichan! Stop trying to steal my alien friends away from me!" pouted Eri as she tried to pull Ai back to reality.

Ai laughed subtly at Eri's comment. Same ol', same old Eri. However, that was one thing in her life that she didn't want changed.

As she slowly drifted back into deep contemplation, Ai was once again brought back to reality by Eri's voice. "Oi, Aichan, what exactly are you so troubled about?"

Caught off guard by the unusual question from a normally slow-minded turtle, Ai had nothing up her sleeve, like she usually did to backup herself up. Today is not my day, she noted. Afraid of stalling any longer, she uncomfortably asked what was on her mind. "Nee, Eri. What do you think we live for? What exactly is the point of life?"

It was now Eri's turn to stare at her blankly, perhaps wondering why such a normally levelheaded girl would ask such a bizarre question. "Uhh, Aichan? Are you ok? That sounds like something I would ask, not you."

Ai nodded without hesitation to Eri's question to offset any doubt the girl would have about her well-being.

"Hmm, well, if you ask me, I think we live to be happy, to find happiness in life," Eri said assuringly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Flashback~
"Mommy, why do I have to go to cram school, while everyone else gets to play outside?
"Ai, trust me, it's for the best. Your future depends on this."
"But I want to play happily outside like everyone else!"
"Having fun will not get you anywhere in life. You can have fun later when you become rich one day."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Happiness, huh? What exactly is happiness?

Envied and admired by many, Takahashi Ai has everything that everyone has ever wanted, the smarts, the looks, the life. But was she happy? Has she ever been truly happy? Money can't buy happiness...

Walking down the heavily packed corridors of MM Gakuin, she is greeted and acknowledged by many who stare at her with awe.

"Takahashi-san, I heard you aced yet another exam! Congrats!"

Another typical day.

Being admired has its many downsides. Everything in her life felt so surreal and fake. It was as if she had friends, yet was quite alone in the world.
What they see is only a façade; they only admire the image of me. They don't even know who I really am.

Life is like a stage for her, the people she is acquainted with, her audience. She would put on an image everyday and play up to everyone's expectations of her, only to drop it all once the show was over by the end of the day. She hated being like this, yet it was far too late to stop; she was too deep into the act and there was no way out of it all. The lies have already been mixed in with the truths and even she herself couldn't sort out the intertwined mess of her life.

Slowly being eaten away by all of the lies and deception, Ai's life was beginning to take its toll on her sanity. She was quite tired of it all.

I am not who everyone thinks I am.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Short chapter again, sorry! I promise that the next one will be longer~ However, I don't know when I'll finish editing it right now. :nervous Oh, and sorry if this chapter's kinda boring. It's an intended effect! Seriously!  ;)

Actually, this is really good, short, but it really sets the stage for whatever I feel you have prepared to shake up her life.

You are going to shake it up, right? You're not just going to let her go postal and Columbine the place, are you? *imagines* :O :shocked :panic: :bleed eyes: :imdead:

@kano-chan: Ahaha, the love is gonna come soon... or not so soon. :roll: We'll see.

@Fushigidane: Aww, thank you! It's hard for me to write, actually. I can't churn out chapters whenever... only when I feel like writing. As for AiEri... hmm... let's see. XD

@kurosawa87: You're good. :twothumbs

@fallenxangel24952: No worries, the love will come. :) Yeahh, there a reason why though... when I get to writing that part.

I love everyone's comments. :wub: So basically... you guys all got it right about what's gonna happen. :P I guess I'm pretty predictable?
Ack, I realized I just died in my game and lost experience points while writing these comment replies this up :O but it's all cool. 8) lol

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2

Life is cruel in its little ways. Things may become boring and routine, but nothing is forever. When one thinks that life in its solitude will never change, the unexpected tends to slap one hard across the face. Sometimes it is just best to have things going painstakingly constant than to wish for change.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As students began shuffling through the halls like a sea of salmon swimming upstream, another boring and predictable day at MM Gakuin was about to begin.
Ai sighed as she slipped past the crowds, making her way to her designated homeroom.
It is not easy being Takahashi Ai, having to live up to everyone’s expectations of you, living a carefully planned out life that you never wanted.
Everything in your life is controlled; everything down to the little details is done with a purpose in mind. You are not living for yourself, but as a mere shadow of what your parents expect of you. You are living in the shadows of what they're trying to make right of their failed dreams.
Meandering her way through the rowdy classroom, making sure to dodge paper airplanes in flight, Ai once again slips into the seat that she has called hers for the past month as a senior in high school.
Ai patiently sits while waiting for her mini-sized, yet very loud and outspoken homeroom teacher to quiet down the class and call out attendance.
Here we go again... another typical day.
However, the usual morning roll call that she was so used to expecting, never came.
"Class, it's that time of the year again!" exclaimed the tiny woman with exaggerated hand gestures.
Hmm, that was unexpected. What ever happened to roll call?
"We have a new student joining us today from Fukuoka!" Yaguchi-sensei said energetically.
Wow, since when in a new moon do we ever get transfers?
Yaguchi-sensei motioned for the said-girl to come up to the front of the room for introductions.
How did she get there... I didn't see her on my way in. Maybe my eyes just played tricks on me after seeing all these familiar faces...
"Tanaka Reina desu. Yoroshiku!" the girl announced with an air of confidence, while gesturing her hand in a salute motion.
This girl has some nerve to be speaking like that... she shouldn't belong to a prestigious school like MM Gakuin.
Feeling a slight, insistent prodding at her shoulder, Ai turned around to see a slightly annoyed bunny glaring nastily at her. "Ugh, Aichan. You're even more spaced out than Eri sometimes!"
At the mention of her name, the turtle jolted awake from her sweet dreams causing quite a commotion in the classroom with her fidgeting in her seat. "Yes, sensei! Huh? What? What?"
The bunny rolled her eyes at the turtle and continued on with what she originally planned to ask Ai. "So what do you think of the new girl?"
"She looks like a nice girl... Her style and fashion sense is quite intriguing," Ai replied, pushing aside her true thoughts about the girl. Well, the second part is true to a certain extent.
"Ehh!? You think she looks nice? She looks tough with that 'bad-boy' image of hers and her style just totally screams yankii to me!" Sayu shrilled while letting her poison-tongue slip.
Ai glanced ahead at the girl in question, who was now currently going over some paper work with the tiny woman, and examined her with scrutiny. Having taken advantage of the casual wear week, Reina had on a black mini-skirt that went up well above her knees, with an oversized purple top along with matching accessories and conspicuous chains that glistened in the room light.
Hmm, quite intriguing, indeed.
In fact, Ai quite envied (and admired) the girl for her flashy, eye-catching individuality and defiant character. Her deviation from the norm of all the good and innocent girls at the school, including Ai herself, was quite refreshing. It was a break from the monotony and generic images she faced everyday. However, what Ai admired the most was the courage that the girl had that she didn't possess herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"We have a new student joining us today from Fukuoka!" Yaguchi-sensei said energetically.

Yaguchi-sensei motioned for the said-girl to come up to the front of the room for introductions.

"Tanaka Reina desu. Yoroshiku!" Reina announced with her usual, favorite introduction.

Quickly scanning the sea of unfamiliar faces, she managed to pinpoint one that stood out to her the most.

Che. What’s this country girl doing here? Heck, she almost fits in less than I do.

Not wanting to change her line of sight, Reina slowly turned her head away from the person of her interest to pay attention to her teacher, as she realized that the tiny lady had spoken to her.

“Tanaka-san, when you find the time, please take these important documents that I have prepared for you up to the front office.” Yaguchi-sensei instructed firmly.

“Uhh, yeah, sure thing, sensei.” Reina said offhandedly, not really paying attention to what the lady had instructed her to do.

“OH! I totally forgot! You must not know where the front office is, huh, since you’re new here. No wonder why you sounded so unsure!” Yaguchi-sensei exclaimed while smacking her forehead with her right hand.

“Huh, what?” Reina blurted out automatically in response to her teacher’s outburst.
What the heck is this tiny woman going on about? Her voice is getting kind of irritating.

“Why don’t I assign someone to show you around the school? While I’m at it, I’ll find a permanent seat for you in the classroom also. Hmm, let’s see here…” Yaguchi-sensei said as she pondered over her seating chart, flipping through her students’ profiles and grades.

Shifting her weight around from one foot to the other, Reina’s feet were about to kill her as she stood waiting for the tiny woman to sort out her seating arrangement.
Ugh, I don’t care what you do, just let me out of here as soon as possible.

“Alrighty, all set! You can sit next to Takahashi-san, the school’s honor student! She most definitely can help you out! She’s a great and reliable role model.” assured Yaguchi-sensei while clapping her hands together.

“Takahashi-san…?” Reina questioned as she looked around once again at the room full of unfamiliar students, now of whom were chattering endlessly amongst themselves.

Not her

“I’m guessing that’s the open seat in the middle of the second row?” Reina said with a questioning tone as she pointed to the location.

“That’s correct! Now go on ahead and make yourself comfortable with your new classmates while I finally get the class started.” Yaguchi-sensei insisted as she began gathering up preparations to start the class.

Dammit. It’s gonna be hard to get along with such a goody two-shoes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Posting this chapter later than I had planned... :nervous Personally I don't really like how the second part turned out, after rereading it, that is. The pace feels off to me? :? or maybe that's just cause I wrote it a while back and forgot what the pace is supposed to be. :P
So... after reading this chapter, any guesses on the pairings? :lol: Let's put up a poll shall we? Vote for the pairing that you think will be together at the end of fic. :)

As for the next chapter... I decided to scrap most of my prewritten work that I have for this fic and start anew. The content is still the same, but I'm just going to change some POVs and grammar issues. It'll be here... in a bit. :nervous

Had a feeling you were going to use her XD anyways, I feel its perfectly fine and sometimes you have to consider where your fic is going and the best thing is to scrap to work on it again, but although I expected Reina to woo Ai but it seems more like the other way around, maybe a total change but somehow she sees something else that makes her more well-rounded I guess, IDK its your fic and I like it so far
