Reina… “REINA!”
“Ee?”
Reina lifted her head and blinked continuously until her eyes refocused on her girlfriend standing beside her. Eri was looking down at her with a concerned expression, holding the piece of paper that the kitten had handed to her just a couple seconds ago.
The two girls were in Reina’s bedroom, spending some time together after a long week of school. Reina was seated at her desk, spacing out after she had given her girlfriend the fax she had received that afternoon. It was a notice, and a reminder, from Kaneda Tetsuya, Tanaka Corporation President’s right-hand man. After days of waiting and sleeping in fear and nervousness, Reina had reached the night before the arrival of her father in Tokyo. In less than 12 hours, her father would be marching into her home and requesting, or demanding, something and she would have to give in to his wishes, as she had always done after her mother had passed away. Not knowing what exactly his reason for coming to visit his daughter was even more frightening than knowing.
And that fear had really played on Reina’s mind today, as she had spaced out more than a couple times throughout Eri’s stay. Even while the turtle was trying to make conversation during dinner, Reina had to be “woken up” multiple times from her trance. Naturally, Eri’s worry grew by the minute, and she had tried to figure out a way to help her girlfriend relax.
“Reina,” the turtle sighed, kneeling in front of the ex-yankii and resting her arms on the kitten’s knees, “I know you’re worried, alright? But like I’ve assured you, I’m going to be right there with you. I’ll stay by your side to protect you.”
“I know,” Reina answered, nodding. “I know I can trust you.” Although she seemed to agree with her lover, the muscles on her face were visibly tightened by the stress. Eri sighed as she continued to brainstorm for ways to distract Reina.
“… Let’s go watch some TV,” she suggested, standing up and taking Reina’s hand. “Maybe we can have a movie night.”
“No, I… I’m not really in the mood for that,” Reina mumbled, turning her head away.
“… Do you want to go out then?” Eri tried again. “We can go to a purikura place…”
“Gomen, I just want to stay home,” the kitten said quietly again. Her mind was still obviously on her father’s visit that would happen the next day. Eri thought of giving up for a while, but she couldn’t bear to watch Reina stress over this for the entire night. It was hardly healthy.
“Then help me practice my lines for the play!” Eri said in a slightly more demanding tone. “I need someone to practice with, so run lines with me.”
“Eri, I’m really—”
“For me,” Eri said quickly, gazing at Reina with the most sincere eyes she could manage. “I need to practice so I need a partner. So do it… for me.”
“… Okay,” Reina sighed, smiling little as Eri returned the favor with a huge grin.
The turtle skittered over to her backpack lying by the door and unearthed her script from a stack of papers. She flipped to one of the pages and handed it to her girlfriend.
“Read the Prince’s lines,” Eri said, “and see if I have all my lines down.”
“Alright,” the kitten nodded. “Let’s see… ‘When will I get to see you again? Please, allow me to meet you once more’.”
“‘I’m sorry, I’m not allowed to talk to strangers’,” Eri said, shifting into character.
“‘But we’ve already met before. You said it yourself. Once upon a dream’.”
“‘… I really should go’.”
“Please, allow me to visit you again, tomorrow, here’.”
Visit… tomorrow… 3p.m. “‘Well then… right here, tomorrow’.”
Visit… tomorrow… welcome… 3p.m… “Reina!”
“Huh?”
The petit girl blinked as she noticed her girlfriend’s face in front of her. Eri’s expression wasn’t that of anger, nor sadness. It was pain. She hated to see Reina like this, her entire mind falling into a dimension of its own, all because of her father visiting after many years. Was there absolutely no way to keep her right here, in reality? Well… there was really only one plan left in Eri’s head.
“Eri, I’m really sorry,” Reina said quickly, sighing. “I… I guess I’m just—”
Before she could finish her sentence, her mouth got blocked with a familiar pair of lips, moving around and begging for entrance. Reina was surprised but her eyes closed as she let herself enjoy the moment. Part of the tense knots in her body seemed to relax as she could feel her lover’s warmth close to her body, wrapping around her, keeping her safe.
“I thought the kiss scene comes after the princess falls asleep,” Reina mumbled against Eri’s lips.
“I forgot my lines so I improvised,” Eri murmured back, allowing Reina to smile a little.
“Eri… you know, I’m really—”
“Just kiss me.”
Eri then attacked again as she started to lovingly kiss her girlfriend, putting in all the passion she could manage to distract Reina from her stress. It seemed to work for a while, as the kitten wrapped her arms tightly around her lover’s neck and pressed her body closer to make out fiercely. Eri took this chance to pull her girlfriend closer to the bed until she could fall back on to the soft mattress. Then, she turned until Reina was under her; she wanted to be in charge, to make sure the girl felt safe. They continued their kiss without the slightest intermission, wanting to feel closer to each other even more.
“Eri…” Reina said suddenly, breaking the kiss. “I… the truth is… I’m really scared.” She bit down on her lips as she stared up at Eri, who looked back with a comforting expression. The turtle stroked Reina’s forehead, followed by her long straight hair.
“I know you are,” Eri whispered back, feeling the slight trembling of the kitten’s body. “But no matter what happens, I’m never going to leave you. I’m always going to be there with you, okay? You’ll be safe, with me.”
“What if… what if he’s coming to blame me again…?” Reina whispered, her voice cracking. Drops of tear started to form by her eyes. “What if he… blames… for Mama…? Dying…? I don’t, I don’t want to fight with him, Eri, I can’t, I don’t—”
“Reina, Reina, calm down,” Eri assured, holding on to her lover’s face, forcing her to make eye contact. “I won’t let him hurt you like that, alright? I’ll protect you, I promise. I won’t let anything happen. You’re not going to fight with him, okay? Trust me.”
Reina stared with wide eyes for a while before she cleared her throat quietly. She then started to breathe in and out, slowly, and nodded. Eri smiled and carefully wiped away the teardrops that had formed.
“I love you, Reina,” Eri murmured quietly. “I love you more than anything in the world.”
“… I already knew that,” Reina replied back, grinning her toothy grin.
Eri chuckled as she gently kissed the lovely girl again. This time, Reina’s movements seemed a lot smoother due to her being relaxed more. Eri’s comforting words had definitely had a good effect in putting the kitten’s mind off future issues that may arise. Their hands started to wander around each other’s body as their kiss got fiercer. Soon, Eri found one of her own hands shoved up Reina’s shirt, feeling around the smooth skin gently, but just enough to make the kitten moan from the sensation. Pleasurable sighs could be heard from both parties during the kiss as they hungrily made out with each other. Eri could feel her own body getting hotter; her heart was pounding more than ever as a strong sensation was felt near her inner thigh area.
Oh god, please, no, the turtle thought to herself. Although it almost seemed natural for her to be turned on from being so close to her lover like this, she didn’t want to give herself false hope. Just like they had done for the past couple nights, they would probably end up stripping until their undergarments were the only articles of clothing on them, and just sleeping like that. Eri could wrap her arms around the kitten protectively, as though to keep her from nightmares. Just like any other night…
Suddenly, Eri felt herself being flipped over as the weight of her girlfriend pressed down near her abdomen. She had obviously let her guard down too much to have her leadership taken away that quickly. But instead of more kissing, Eri found herself being stared at by the lovely eyes that she dreamt of. Reina’s breath felt hot by her lips as she gazed with a smoldering look.
“Eri…” she whispered, “will you sleep with me tonight?”
“Of course,” the turtle answered. “I’ve done so for the past few days—”
“No,” Reina interrupted, biting down on her bottom lip. “I mean… will you make me yours?”
Eri’s eyes widened as she stared at her lover’s sincere expression. Was Reina seriously asking for this? So tonight wasn’t just like any other night; they would actually get further than just literally sleeping together? Had this girl even thought this over? This was so sudden though… Eri could feel her pulse getting faster as she got more nervous. She could tell Reina was feeling the same way, as her cheeks flushed dark red. But the look in her eyes… she really wanted this.
“I’ll take a shower first,” the kitten said quietly.
Reina slipped off the bed and glided into the bathroom. Behind the closed door, Eri could hear some rustling before the sound of the faucet turning came. The turtle quickly sat up and put her hand over her chest, trying to calm herself. Was this really it? Was this really the way it was going to happen? She had waited so long for this day… but now that this day was here, Eri somehow felt uneasy with doubts weighing on her mind. Had she and her lover both thought this through completely? How would things change by this? How did you exactly
do this anyway? Do you just…
do it?
But Reina had just given her permission right? So they really would be doing it tonight… For the first time, Eri really started to think about this, envision this. They would both be complete, together, and shower love and kisses onto each other. Reina’s body… that smooth back and soft skin that she had only felt on rare occasions… Eri would finally get to see it as well. Her complete, white, smooth body…
Before her thoughts could wander off further, Eri quickly slapped herself across the face and let out a small whimper of pain. And it was a good timing as well, since Reina walked out of the bathroom, her bare body clad in a large white towel. Bits of her skin were still wet, as well as her hair. The smoldering look in her eyes remained unchanged as she slowly stepped closer to the bed, where the turtle was sitting. Eri’s eyes widened at the glorious sight, taking in every little detail about her lover. It was difficult to prevent her mind from thinking about what was
under that towel.
“Your turn,” Reina said softly, pulling up the towel a bit more over her chest.
“I… uh… you…” Eri quickly shook her head as she came back down to earth, peeling her eyes off of Reina’s slight cleavage that was showing with much difficulty. “Reina… are you sure about this? You… you really thought this over?”
“I’ve thought this over so many times, Eri,” the kitten smiled, gently stroking her girlfriend’s pink cheek. “We’ve been through so many ridiculous issues yet we’re still here, together. That’s got to mean something. And… I know that I would only feel safe if it’s with you. Just Eri.”
The turtle felt her heart warming up from her lover’s words. Just her. There was only Eri for Reina, and only Reina for Eri as well. There were no other alternatives and no other way to put it. Even just at this stage, they had passed the point of no return. It was tonight. And neither of them doubted this. Eri quickly hugged her girlfriend and whispered her proclamation of love into her ear.
“I know,” the kitten mumbled. She was obviously blushing. “Now go… shower…”
“I won’t be long,” Eri whispered back with a soft chuckle.
The girl quickly pranced into the bathroom and started to strip immediately. When she got into the shower booth, she turned the faucet to let the hot water rain down on her body. All the previous tension and worries were washed away. The only thing that filled Eri’s mind was Reina, her love, her life. And the event that was to happen pretty soon…
Eri rushed the shower as she quickly lathered the soap on her body, but was still careful in making sure she was clean. After another run-down of the hot water, Eri climbed out of the booth and quickly dried herself. She let her wet hair curl down as she took a big white towel and wrapped it around herself, just like Reina had done so.
When she walked back into the bedroom, the first thing that she saw was her beautiful girlfriend, turning off the lights. In the dark shadows of the night, Eri could make out the petit girl gliding over to the curtains to close them against the moonlight, and then towards the small lamp by the bedside table. The dim light gave the kitten’s white, plain room a rather warm feeling, almost cozy.
Eri smiled as she walked over to her lover, who seemed to be shying away already. Her cheeks were dyed soft pink as the little droplets of water from her wet hair still patterned parts of her collar bone area. She gasped softly when Eri gently touched her hands, and took a hold of them.
“Don’t be scared,” Eri murmured. “I’m here.”
“I’m not scared,” Reina denied, shrugging with a small smile. “Just… nervous?”
“Me too,” the turtle chuckled. “But we’ll be fine. If we stay linked together like this… we’ll be safe.
Eri entangled her fingers around Reina’s and brought her lover’s hand up to her lips to give it a gentle kiss. The kitten smiled at this, and nodded. Taking that as an approval, Eri leaned in slowly to take Reina’s soft lips. The kiss was warm and loving, just like they wanted. But both lovers knew that this was only the start.
