Edit: Some time later, a wolf appeared and aggroed on the sheep.

It's just watching it go in circles...

Still got a lot to learn. For now I solved the frame rate problem by turning all the video effects off, and I spent today adding more detail to my base as well as a third floor.

I really need to explore this world. I'm still near where my original spawn area is.

Make sure you have a compass before you go exploring. I've made that mistake before :nervous I saw things that I'd only dreamt of before, but it was all pointless when I couldn't even find my base.

I saw this vid of a mod on Kotaku and thought it was cool. Just be careful if you're implementing it XD

^ Wish I found that mod earlier. Otherwise I wouldn't have spent 2 days setting up a waterfall and pool at my base.

Been working on my little town for a few days now. I think it's starting to shape up and look pretty nice, finally. I still need a huge amount of glass, though, to finish the cathedral.

Watched this amazing vid: ■ MINECRAFT GHIBLI WORLD ■ - O Z W O R K S H O P -

Am now tempted to build a giant Totoro.

I may try to do it, since I've quickly gone through a number of small projects: filling in Akiba Station, floating upside-down pyramid/treehouse, rollercoaster, lava message and the capsule hotel.  If I don't have a project to work on, I get *gasp* kinda bored with MC. XD  I'm still eventually going to expand Akiba a bit more, just need to do 3(?) more prominent buildings and that's it for Little Akiba.  However, I'm not in a rush to do all that. XD

Is this the cathedral ?

or in other words, I have some glass I can donate. Is there a box I can put it in?

um guys I have some bad news
I was trying to setup a 2nd Minecraft Server so we could all have a go of this Amazing Ghibli World http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/-minecraft-ghibli-world-/

So I made a folder and called it minecraftserver2 (this was not a good idea) and then started the server under that folder with the ghibli map. At first it didn't work but then I realized I had unzipped the world files wrong so I changed back a directory and proceeded to remove the minecraftserver2 directory because I was just going to start it again from scratch. In my haste I used tab to autofill the name of the folder which instead of filling it to minecraftserver2 it filled it to minecraftserver and this is the JPH!P world server....

I just accidentally deleted the JPH!P Minecraft world.

I didn't make any backups t_t I don't deserve to be your admin t_t I will never not make backups or stuff ever again!

I dunno what I can say to make it up to you guys, other than the Ghibli world works :3 if you want to try it. The server is sica.jphip.com

The texture pack they use in the video is http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=64678

Awww, it's alright.  Well, at least we have the Ghibli world to check out and can also start from scratch.  It's just a game afterall, don't feel too bad, Dave!

Although it's a shame (there were some truly UNFREKINGBELIEVABLE creations on the JPH!P server :shocked) Minecraft is a game at it's best when you first start a world anyways. :thumbsup That's what I used to do in single player when i first started playing. Sometimes I would generate a new world, put it on hard, make a rule that I could only keep what I could carry in one row of inventory and my hot bar and just go exploring. :P

I actually don't feel too bad about this turn of events.
While I did spend all that time making all that crazy stuff, it always kind of lingered in the back of my mind that something like this could happen and all of it would be wiped away. I was never under any illusions that my works would be permanent and enduring. That's why I made sure I took pictures when I was done and saved all the plans.

That said, pointing to something and saying "I made that" is only part of the joy of Minecraft.  Ultimately it's always been more about the exploration and the process of building things than the finished results. If anything, this gives us all a chance to be even more ambitious,  without anything to limit us but our imaginations.

While this could be considered a disaster, I choose not to think of it that way. Instead, it is an opportunity to start anew and re-experience the joy and excitement of discovering the world all over again. For that, let me be the first to say, "Thank you, ebc!"

Maaaaan, I was just starting to get into it too xD  New worlds are always cool though, and this benefits me a lot too because I joined the server waaaay behind everyone else, so now I get to lend a hand in rebuilding.  JPHiP Land 2.0~  Just let us know when the new world is up and running~
