Oh oh some new portals went up before the server came down~

Portal to: Hart's cabin (near slacks in the nether)
Myk's Ski Lodge & snow lands (past the portal to pika's island in nether)

also one to my dig site in the desert, but that's just a personal one :D

I can't think of any other places, but if you can think of any, let me know!

Completed 'map_2' before the server went down.

Unfortunately I had...an accident with my garbage disposal and it burned along with me...

I didn't realize how far away I am from everyone else once I respawned. The closest sites from me are Pika's Beach House and one of his minning sites. (And they don't even show up on the map!)

Even in the nether I'm still far away from everyone's portals! :(

oo! actually I do see my place on that map, if you look at the island on the bottom left, there's a brown dot near the top of it, that's my dock!

It may be worth noting that the map doesn't automatically do complete updates.
Only changes in the area around you are recorded.

Also, I think the new tall grass might not be supported on the overhead map site -- those blocks appear black.
...at least I think that's what those black spots are.

Anyway, I think I'm having minecraft withdrawal.
I MUST PUNCH MORE SHEEP.

Had some issues with the server, it's back now but I'll schedule an OS reinstall some time in next day or so. Don't worry I will back it up before it goes down for that but yeah we tried running the picroda off the server to ease the load on the forum but it just killed the server so I think there's some configuration problems.

^ Yay!!  :twothumbs

oo! actually I do see my place on that map, if you look at the island on the bottom left, there's a brown dot near the top of it, that's my dock!

I see it. I think I can see my cabin and mining site near the lake in the middle of the map.

Just when I first started out:

A few days later, with a second floor, a roof, a mini-farm, and coblestone generator:

Future plans might include a green house, library, charcoal factory/tree farm, park, and a bakery. Also need to find way to connect to everyone else's places besides the nether portal network.

Speaking of portals:

Thanks, pika, for setting up a rail system between me and Slack's portals.

Why walk around to get to my place when you can travel across that ocean of lava?  XD

Look how happy Yuu is for building that fountain of fire.

Better fill those buckets with water in case someone accidentally walks into it.

I was surprised how stuff actually grows in the nether.

I really have no idea where some of you guys are set up. :sweatdrop: I think it's harder get a idea of were stuff is because this world has so many huge mountains and stuff. Or maybe i just need to look around more... Also starting on the taengtronic 9000.

'map_06', a.k.a 'map_02' ver. 2.0, is finally complete. Didn't realize that shirenu's place is just off to the left of the map. Still need to explore this huge underground cavern near my cabin. Already found 64 irons in my first visit.   I wouldn't be surprised if it goes all the way down to bedrock.

Looks like my lastest project, a tree farm, has been successful.

Just today I've grown 38 trees out of 61 saplings, producing 182 chunks of wood and 42 saplings, using up only 1 iron axe.

According to my calculations, that's 182 pieces of charcoal, 728 planks, and 2,912 sticks.

I think I'll set up some chests for everyone to use. Also, anyone can use my Mining sites 1, 3, and 4. Mining site 2 is for my personal use (for now).

failed panorama shot

I'm just digging from a hill down to bedrock for no other reason than to kill boredom and because it looks nice.
Maybe I'll put glass on top of it someday and turn the whole into some momochi wonderland .... but probably not.

AWRIGHT

OK PLEASE DON'T LAUGH AT THE UGLINESS OF THIS THING.

I decided I wanted to try building Sunspear; it's a place from A Song of Ice and Fire books. One of the famous buildings in Sunspear is Sandship: "a large building that looks like a dromond" and is "dun colour". So of course building a building shaped like a ship sounds like a lot of fun (...) so I decided to give it a try first!

If anything, it has turned out to be way too small (nobody would call this a LARGE building), and I need to remove that hill thing from the front of it...

But whatever!!!

This is what I have so far:

Inside left

Inside right

xD

I like the insides better... There's a table in the middle of the room on the left, and I'm thinking of adding a library

Need to do a lot of landscaping around the Sanship still, make it look cleaner

EDIT: Oh and it's mostly one material because to me Sunspear seems like a place with very simple materials and design  (aside from some special places) >o< The city itself is made of mud & straw :O

EDIT2: I forgot to say this is in solo game, so don't try to look for it in the jphip server

^ doesn't look ugly~ just like sandstone
Actually looks nice at night with the light.
I think it's rather complicated to build stuff like that, unless you are some mastermind or make a plan beforehand so you don't mess up proportions too much  XD

^ I had to run back and forth so much, the other side of the ship is almost exactly like this side too XD

And yeah I'm way too impatient for complicated plans so... yeah lol

While waiting for the new batch of trees to grow at my tree farm, I decided to make a make near the spawn point and do some exploring.

I think everyone's places are on this map, except mine...  :(

At least now I know where everyone is located in relation to where my cabin is. I recognize the island where pika's beach house is.

So the server died again this time I had planned to get it wiped and the OS re-installed which is now completed however cause I wasn't able to contact the server when it died and transfer the backup offsite, the last offsite backup is from last week so I'm really sorry again :( for the set back but hopefully now we shouldn't have any more probs, I'll set the backups to go offsite nightly just in case though.

^ that explains why I was wondering why my tree farm just suddenly disappeared when I logged in.  :(

Looks like I'll have to redo everything from the past few days.

On the bright side, I'll be able to collect all the resources I lost when I fell into lava last week. And I can add minor improvements to mining site 2 and the tree farm. But I still have to make that map from the spawning point....

* Hart still wonders about connecting to the rail system now that he knows where he is in relation to everyone else.
