[Discuss] Which bands are SCANDAL's main competition?

Stereopony, Gacharic Spin, BLiSTAR... are only a few of the many cool bands out there.

Which band(s) would you consider to be Scandal's biggest competition? Why?

Who reigns supreme in the world of Japanese girl rock bands?

As a Brit, as far as we can tell over here the SCANDAL machine is unstoppable. I like Stereopony a LOT but SCANDAL does look to be without equal.

For the past 10 years I've never seen any competition among girl bands. Theres always one that stood out while the others are just there so theres more girl bands to choose from. Its still the same. SCANDAL seems to be on a roll now. Though Stereopony could give them a run for their money if their record company decides to catch up.
Even though Chatmonchy are also a girl band but I wouldn't really put them in the same category.

no competition in my opinion, yes there are a lot of girl bands in japan but none of them afaik have 4 cute/talented members

I think Stereopony are probably their main competition. I like Stereopony's music more because they compose their own songs but I like SCANDAL more overall.

What sets them apart is the balance among the members, in most cases the vocalist becomes the face or the image of the band but for Scandal each has her own thing going. Also it is hard to compare Scandal with other girl bands because of their versatility it seems they are  in the middle of everything... So competition wise I think there is none, I'm not implying that other girl bands are not good is just that Scandal is in a different category.

Totally agree with yu all, whilst there are other good jap rock girl bands out there, none of them seem to be on Scandal's level, "popularity-wise" maybe? cant quite describe
But if I was to say one, it'd probly be Stereopony
