Finally finished!!!
Letters to YouThank you for taking me out to celebrate the release of “Dear J”. I had a really great time on our little date. You have such good taste in food. I loved the restaurant~. Itano Tomomi, nicknamed Tomochin, sat with her knees folded under her, concentrating on the letter in front of her. The paper was a soft pink, dotted with tiny hearts. Brushing her long hair behind her ear, Tomochin continued to write.
It was so sweet when we walked down the street to the arcade, and you took my hand so protectively. “It’s dangerous for a pretty girl like you to be out so late”, you said with a joking smile, but I could see that you meant it. The 19-year old singer smiled slightly as she guided the sparkly silver gel pen. That night had been fun, more fun that she’d had in a long time. There were no expectations, no façade to build up and support. It was just two friends having fun.
And when you won me that Rilakkuma toy, I was so happy. You saw me eyeing it, didn’t you? Because just as I was going to take my wallet out, you moved in, 100 yen coin already in your hand. You got the perfect one, the one with the cute little strawberry hood, the one you knew that I wanted.Said stuffed bear was currently lounging on the soft white couch behind Tomochin, leaning against a turquoise pillow. She reached back, pulling the brown bear by its leg into her lap like a small child. With one arm across the plushie’s middle, she picked up where she left off.
You were so kind to go as far as to escort me home. Usually, we just go our separate ways, don’t we? But it was better to get to spend more time together, even if it was just 15 more minutes. You held my cold hand with your warm one as we walked down the quiet road towards my house. Honestly, those few minutes seemed like forever and somehow…my heart was racing.Tomochin stopped after writing the last few words. She hesitated a little. After all, it was the first time she had ever put those feelings into words; it was the first time they has escaped from the recesses of her mind.
But it was ok, because no one would ever see this letter.
We parted at my front door, you giving me that effortlessly charming grin. “See ya tomorrow~”, you said as you turned and walked away. I watched you until I couldn’t see you anymore. Upstairs in bed, in the darkness of my room…I succumbed to my desires.Again, she stopped her hand. A deep blush stained her pale cheeks, remembering her actions that night. It wasn’t something she did often, but sometimes, the urge was too much to bear. It made the girl feel a little perverted, and dirty. But again, no one would see this, so anything she wrote would remain private.
The truth is…I love you. I got that tell-tale feeling in my stomach the very first time I saw you. You make my heart beat fast every time you talk to me. I can barely control myself from grabbing you and kissing you deeply, feeling your soft lips on mine. Tomochin bit her lip almost shyly, unable to control her feelings pouring out onto the paper. She set the pen down for a moment and let her head fall back against the couch. “Mou…” she mumbled, rubbing her face with her palms. Her makeup had been washed off long before, so her face was soft and bare. And with that, the tears began to flow.
I know I can never tell you how I feel, and it hurts every moment that I think about it. I know I can’t be yours, and you can’t be mine. But still…I love you. A few tiny wet spots appeared on the decorated stationary, expanding as they soaked in. Sniffling, the girl delicately wiped away her tears, the salty streams stinging her skin.
Thank you again! You really are the best friend anyone could have. <3 Tomochin carefully signed her name at the bottom of the letter. She was about to insert the paper into its matching envelope when she realized it. There was no name at the top. Her slim fingers carefully unfolded the letter again, smoothing it out and picking up the silvery pen. She bit at the cap, a little unsure before filling in the empty space.
Dear J, she wrote neatly.
Once the ink dried, everything was nicely folded and tucked into the pink, heart-strewn envelope. Tomochin stood up, replacing Rilakkuma on the couch and putting the pen back in its place with the others.
She walked to the bedroom where she slid the letter into a box hidden in her bedside table drawer. It was nearly filled to the top with similar envelopes containing similar “correspondence”. Yes, Tomochin wrote letters like this every time she spent time with her close friend, as a way to keep her emotions in check, and to herself. The 19-year old let her hand linger on the soft, patterned lid of the box for a moment before climbing into bed and letting sleep take her.

Ok, so I didn't mention who "J" is...because I don't pay too much attention to AKB pairings.
So it's up to interpretation.
