I think that C-ute have higher sales because of the way UFA marketed them and because of that they're more known/accepted by a lot of people outside of the wota community. Berryz has been on the scene quite a while before C-ute became popular so I believe it's too late for them.

Well once I've stocked myself up on more Momosu CD's (I currently only have four) then I'll start with Berryz...not sure if I'll ever bother stocking up on C-ute stuff though, maybe just albums.

C-ute is also a new group compared to Berryz, so there is less of a "thrill", I doubt C-ute will be as popular as now in 3 years. It's "only" their 4th not indie single now while Berryz is going to have their 15th(!) single. It's not a bashing of C-ute tho, they would not be successful like that if they were bad. But then again, sometimes wota and fans should not forget that it's not the group but the songs they get from Tsunku and his people and the promotion that makes them successful, the girls are what they are told to be, most likely in the Idol business. They prolly look different to some degree and have a some difference in their voice, but almost everything can be fixed digital.

However. Berryz Koubou is still my favorite J-Pop group and will be it for some more years at least, I'm going to support them as best as possible. I hope I can complete my CD/DVD Berryz collection within the next year and see them again. Esp. Momoko-sama but also the other members brighten my life

I also heard Berryz is superior to v-u-den...

I guess sales would improve if some of the Berryz fans buy their singles instead of buying PB's in multiples.

C-ute is having a phenomenal year, we can't deny that. I have nothing against C-ute, I enjoy their music as much as I enjoy Berryz's music. But I find it unfair if the success between these two groups are just based on of a bunch of sales statistics and because they have the other as their backdancers. So what if Berryz end up as backdancers? Is it an indication that they're just B-listers now? Definitely not. They started as backdancers to W and look at them now. So what if they lose to C-ute in sales? It's just numbers. What's important is they continue what they do best, and that is to entertain. And they're Berryz Koubou, for Jebus' sake!

PS. The new single is dangerous. It has given me LSS for 3 days

And like I said before, despite C-ute's rapid popularity, Berryz still have and will always have their large and loyal fanbase, no matter how many great kiddie groups H!P decides to churn out.

But, yeah, I believe that - as a group - they rank higher than v-u-den in H!P, but not as individuals.

I've seen wotas talking the sales, too. They joked that it was because Beri-wotas spent all their money on goods and not CDs, that was why they had lower CDs sales but higher goods sales.

I think UFA is trying to share the pie. Since Berryz can't qualify as a "new" group for the Best Hit (?) show, they get to go on FNS. I prefer FNS anyway since you get to see other artistes in the audience gape when H!P acts perform (you decide if it's in a good or er, not so good way)

Besides, the FNS performances are always rather good from the MM medley one (2003?) to H!P All Stars (2004), Def. Diva (2005) and GAM last year

Berryz Kamen inspired me to make an OPV.

I had to crop the song to make it look like a sentai opening sequence.

It usually goes something like this: super sentai logo->intro w/ team name->members of the sentai team->a bunch of random clips->a glimpse of the bad guys or some allies-> hissatsu attack ->mecha gattai sequence -> another set of random clips to kill time.

Since I burned some of the clips from my PC, I couldn't find some of the ones I wanted, like that Berryz w/ lightsaber clip, so I had to make do with what I had (it's just full of nonsense for short). And damn WMM dies every once in a while, so yeah.

This B-side song rocks!
