Haruna X Yuko[Part 3]
Haruna’s POVLately, Yuko’s been hanging out with this girl. I feel slightly uneasy about it. For some reason, I’ve lost confidence in myself because she’s pretty and has a lovable personality. Could it be that I’ve been replaced? Has Yuko found someone new? I think I’m worrying about this too much. Yuko wouldn’t leave me so easily; I believe in her.
Since it’s the spring season, Acchan wanted to go to the beach and see the sea. She invited me and some of the other AKB members. Just a few, though. She said she doesn’t like travelling in big groups (despite the fact that you guys have over 48 members?). Acchan said she also invited Yuko, but Yuko declined because she already made commitments with that other Oshima girl.
She would rather hangout with some other girl she just met a week ago, instead of coming to the beach with 7 of her friends? She’d get to see them in their swimsuits and prance around in the water, why wouldn’t she come?
Not joining us sounds very un-Yuko like.
I agreed to join the trip to stop thinking about Yuko, but in the end, I couldn’t stop thinking of her. What could she be doing with that other girl right now? Is she having more fun with her than with me? Ahh! I can’t calm my mind.
“Nyan Nyan! Nyan Nyan!” Who’s this? “Haruna!” oh, it’s Miichan, “How many times have I called you? You zoned out. This is our stop now let’s get off the bus before we miss it.” Miichan said to me as she continued to nudge me.
We all got off the bus and entered a grassy park near the beach.
“Let’s set up our picnic here,” Mariko advised Acchan, “because it’s close to the clean water.”
I shouldn’t be like this and join in with everyone more, but for some reason I still can’t stop thinking about Yuko.
In fact, I think I’m even seeing her. “Yuko…” It unconsciously slipped my mouth, Yuko’s name.
“Oh, you’re right,” said Takamina, “YUKO!” What?! Oh crap. Takamina called out to her. I didn’t expect that.
Yuko waved back at Takamina, “Hey, guys!” she ran towards us in her gorgeous blue and white striped bikini. “Mari! Come over here! There are a few people I want you to meet!” she shouted behind her.
I guess it’s no surprise that the other girl is here too. Even worse, Yuko said “Mari” with no honorific. How close is their relationship?
The girl walked towards us with the wind blowing through her hair. Dang, I hate to say it but she looks good. Even worse she’s wearing a red bikini. Yuko likes things that are red.
“I wanted to bring Yuko here as a surprise, I didn’t think Yuko’s friends would be here, too! Hmm… and also, you guys seem familiar.” She said raising one eyebrow. “I’m Mari, a pleasure to meet you all.” She gave everyone a shiny smile.
Everyone introduced themselves, until finally I introduced myself. “I’m Haruna Kojima, pleased to meet you, too.”
“Ahh! KojiHaru!” she pointed at me with amazement, “So does that mean you guys are AKB48?!” she seems to be more of an airhead than me. She hung out with Yuko for about a week now and just realized that she’s in AKB?
“Yes, we are.” I nodded in agreement. “Ahahaha! Sorry, Mari. I guess I didn’t feel the need to tell you since I had a feeling you’d act like this.” Yuko patted her shoulder and led her to an ice cream shop for a private conversation. What could they be talking about? I want to know!
Yuko’s POVI didn’t expect Haruna and everyone to be here. “Yuko, is the girl in white wearing the jean short-shorts the one you’ve liked for
soooooo long?” Mari asked me purely out of curiosity. Since this whole week we’ve been hanging out, I talked to her about nothing else but Haruna, and my feelings for her.
“Yeah” I told Mari all about Haruna.
“Ah~ I envy her.” She said while licking her ice cream.
“Why?” I turned to her and saw her gaze was towards Haruna.
“She’s got someone like you who loves her whole-heartedly.”
Gah! Why’d she have to say something embarrassing like that! Is my face red?
“Hehehe! Yuko, you’re blushing like crazy!” she laughed at me and gave me a hug, “It’ll be alright, this whole week we’ve been together… you’ve done nothing but talk about the person you love. So, I’m sure she loves you as much as you love her. When you get the chance, you should invite her on a stroll and have a proper talk with each other.” Mari’s comforting words put me at ease. I replied with a ‘yes’; since she gave me encouragement I won’t let it go to waste!
Ha~ I don’t want to let go of this warmth. She’s such a good friend. But she suddenly let go of me. Aw. I turn around and see Haruna was watching, which explains why Mari freed me.
“Oh. Hi, Nyan Nyan!” I’m glad she came by, now I hope to have that talk with her.
How will Haruna interpret Yuko’s feelings?
