1.2 ruined my y-axis. I could play just fine with that until I needed to pick something up.

That's....remarkably fucked up. With all the talk of issues and crashes, you wonder how it could have possibly gone through Microsoft/Sony certification before release?

I read somewhere on the internet that deleting certain .ini files fixes the y-axis problems introduced today. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

bugs coming with updates, that sucks... :(

I'm in the middle of that museum quest, still missing a part. :nervous
But yesterday I did the "20 find plants" quest, having a long stroll along the rivers and waterfalls for nirnroots.
Great time enjoying at the scenery. Went from Whiterun up to Morthal, and still haven't collected 20 yet.

Also went and stormed a few local Whiterun bandit camps. They sure had some good loot, like glass and moon stuff. Even found an axe that does extra damage to animals... Maybe I should make a greatsword called MammothKiller. :P

well, I finally caved in and got it XD

I was about to play it until I got sick just now. I'm stuck on waiting until tomorrow to play it. So, what's the best character to use to start and what attributes do I need to upgrade first?

"Best"? "Need"?
Sounds like you have to adjust your mindset going in.

I'd just go with whatever makes you go, "Hey that sounds cool!"
If you keep to that, it's hard to go wrong.
As a general rule though, the most interesting stuff in these games is NOT the main quest line.

Yeah, the developers had in mind to make some leeway for character change mid-game.

In the Behind The Wall making video (collectors edition stuff) coughtorrentcough they talked a bit about it.
How a starting warrior character could spend time learning magic and start off real weak, but still be able to do cool magic stuff later on as long as the player wanted their character to grow in that area.

So, yeah. Take your 3 hours on the character choosing screen. Just like the rest of us did. :D

+1 to anybody who also thinks the Storm Atronach sounds remind them of Yello's Oh Yeah. :P

update: did a short video of one to compare em. Try not to laugh to much when you summon them though, they're really shy. :)

I read today that this patch, among all the other problems and even game breaking things it does, causes dragons to fly backwards! Now that made me laugh out loud XD

Hope this gets fixed soon and it won't affect all your games as much as it does for some.
Keep posting your adventures! I love reading all your stories after a hard days work.

Shadowmare is a BEAST

Adventures in Skyrim today:

-While walking in the middle of nowhere old lady runs up to me screaming "WABBAJACK WABBAJACK WABBAJACK WABBAJACK" so I'm like wtf!?? pull out my Wabbajack and turn her into a bunny.

-Guy challenges me to a drinking contest at the bar in Whiterun which results in me passing out and waking up the next day in Markarth. Apparently I stole a goat, got married to a Hagraven and did a bunch of other stuff dude where's my car/the hangover style.

-Was fighting some powerful Mages that popped up after I fast traveled when a Dragon started attacking me. Was doing fine until an ELDER FUCKING DRAGON decided to join the party and dive bomb me with ice breath. I retreated a bit to recover but ended up running straight into a camp with 2 Giants and 2 Mammoths who also wanted some of the action. The dragons were smashing into the mammoths and lifting each other and doing all kinds of janky stuff. xD   In the end I killed all the Mages, the Giants and Mammoths took out what was left of the first dragon and I finished off the Elder Dragon then sniped the Giants and Mammoths. wheeeew...

-Then a few minutes later a Briarheart took me by surprise and three shotted me. -__- First time I died in a long time. I have gotten cocky and just wear what looks cool rather than what has the best armor rating. : P

-Oh also made a set of fully upgraded legendary Ebony armor. Gave it to Jordis, still don't dare take her with me though. She is too precious to me. :3 and she messes up my stealth

finally took a break from playing the game..and I have to say, this is WAY better than Oblivion in my opinion.

sure, it is open world and everything else, but everything that I've heard and seen really is worth playing. Only did some of the main quests right now and will be playing more tomorrow. Just only at level 5 but still like it.

Wish I found a way to make stuff real quick so I can turn it into some decent equipment. What about marriage and all?

woa this is pretty good.

They should have gotten her to sing the bard songs. Most of the bards in the game are pretty terrible.

Played some more last night and there was nothing much to shout about (see what I did there?). Started off on Falkreath and departed in the morning as I walked my way to a nearby quest location, diverging off the beaten path every so often to visit whatever I saw of interest. Found some bandits occupying a nearby ruined tower, a bunch of spriggans and bears in a cave and some random treasure. Along the way I reached this nearby mill by the lake. Very idyllic looking and as I reached there I saw this pretty and polite lady there. I figured she might be good wife material once I get the ability to do so. Made me want to help her out and chop wood for her you know? Did some searching around the place for anything of interest and I walked into a shed. Let's just say on a bench on the shed was an awful lot of blood, a few slabs of meat, a nasty looking sawblade and, get this, a bloody skull. And it looked human. I backed the fuck out of there and ran as fast as my legs could carry me! By the time I made my way back to Falkreath, the sun was setting and I could see the moon in what looked to be a clear and cold winter sky. One of the nicest looking sights I've seen in the game yet.

Managed to buy me an Elven helmet too so now my character is fully decked outin Elven armor. Helmet, body, gauntlets, leggings and a shield. And yet my character isn't even Elven! Looks badass though, I should enchant an Elven sword and really complete the set.

Funny. On my nirnroot walk today, I went to a lumber mill with a woman near a lake too. :P
I wanted to help, but couldn't find any axes for cutting the logs...

She did say something about the workers leaving for something (dun remember). And the house next door was ransacked and emptied.
So they were probably two different places... Starting to sound like some horror movie!

Just joined the Thieves Guild. Their ways are too sly for my goody goody character, so I'll leave them and the dark brotherhood missions till later.

Finished the main Dark Brotherhood quest. AWWW YEAH :hump: I didn't kill Cicero. The Spectral Assassin is nice, but sometimes he doesn't summon in the correct place. He once appeared on another level of a zone (the ship with the emperor), and alerted all the guys, but he killed most of them anyway. The comments he makes are great.

Made a bunch of screencaps. Only just found out typing "tm" on console could remove the HUD.
(note: Graphics set to medium settings)
Obligatory posing in the snow pic. And the "Fallout 3" look. :P

Some caps of a nice sunglare mod effect.

In between fighting during the Mace of Molag Bal quest. Saw a nice waterfall, Kodak moment! :) And finishing off with the obligatory dragon-kill cam.

Some awesome moments happened today, in a game that just keeps on delivering them.

Discovered some dungeon so I went inside and made my way through it. It's a giant one that had this huge cavern in the middle, with paths built into it so I had to keep walking upwards to advance. Sure enough I reach the end of a hallway, past some nasty looking fire traps and had to fight a Master Vampire. My weapons and magic weren't doing much damage so I remade my way through the trap hoping the flames would hurt him to kill him. It didn't. So I made my way back to the entrance of the hallway, on the highest level where if you don't watch your step, you could fall off the edge all the way back down the cavern again. Was really low on health and he was winding up a power attack so I instinctively hit him with the shield, cancelling his attack and staggering him. Circled him and dragon shouted at him wanting to push him over the edge. Pushed him back a bit but my Unrelenting Force is only at it's most basic level so that didn't do much. So I hit him with the shield again. Almost. I just had enough stamina and I gave him a power bash with my shield, thinking my guy was putting all the weight behind it and...the vampire fell off the edge plummeting all the way down to the bottom and to his death. Strange, fire can't kill him but heights can. Who knew? XD My reward was an all new dragon shout which lets me swing one handed weapons faster which is awesome. I never really duel wield weapons before but with this, I can really deal some damage!

The best moment of the night came in Falkreath. I was walking through town (literally, I was over encumbered with stuff) and the town guard was walking towards me when he just suddenly drew his bow.

"By the Gods! A dragon!"

Sure enough I turned around and there was a Blood Dragon circling around the town. I dropped whatever I could afford and watched as the dragon landed onto one of the buildings and started breathing ice onto the town and, worringly, onto the villagers (I did not want him killing potential quest givers after all!)

"Quick everyone get inside!"

I shot an arrow at it getting it's attention and ran out of town, leading it away from there. A bunch of guards followed me and backed me up. Took a bit of effort but we did it in the end. I slayed the dragon and got it's soul, which was how I unlocked that new dragon shout. So I got it, the visual effects died, the music had faded down and I turned and saw the guards and a bunch of villagers crowd together at the town entrance, staring at me.

"It really is true. A Dragonborn!"
"I don't know what to say."
"This has got me thinking. Maybe I'm a Dragonborn but just don't know it!"

Uh yeh, good luck with that one mate.

Again, I must emphasise, both events were completely unscripted and they genuinely happened. This game
