Ayame subbed shots from the Another World drama, really recommend it,

first episode was quite suspenseful and action packed, left a cliff hanger where you're not positive what's going to happen next, reminded me a bit of Liar Game.

tonight's the second episode of Another World, actually it's probably already aired.

Ayame did a great job in that appearance- she's very relaxed and comes across as a real person.

YouTuber orangek100 has put together a string of Ayame shots from various sources, backed it with the song "Hello" by the wonderful singer Ayaka, and we can enjoy a great tribute: roll tape, Copernicus!

So the guest who surprised Ayama was 村上純 / Jun Murakami , who is one half of the comedy duo Shizuru with Kazuma Ikeda.

Ayame appeared in the "Best Friend" PV ....had not seen this before, very nice PV!

okay, I have been really trying to figure out what song it is they are using in the au CM with Ayame.......

Turns out it is a song called "Le Marchand de Bonheur" (The Merchant of Happiness) which was originally (I believe) performed by the French vocal group called Les Compagnons de la chanson, who were founded in Lyon during World War II.

The song charted at #1 in France the first six weeks in 1960.

In Japan the song is called 幸福を売る男.....Kofuku o Uru Otoko (Happiness Selling Man)....I'll get to the reason for the Japanese title in a minute, but here is

How did this song, a 1960 "chanson" style song, (from Wikipedia: Chanson can be distinguished from the rest of French "pop" music by following the rhythms of French language, rather than those of English)....end up in an advertisement in Japan in 2012? and why does it have a Japanese name?

Because of a man named 芦野　宏 Hiroshi Ashino, who passed away this year in February at the age of 87. He appeared on NHK's ''Kohaku Uta Gassen" for a period of 10 straight years in the 50's and 60's and dedicated himself to making "chanson" popular in Japan.

His version of "Le Marchand de Bonheur" came out in December 1960, with the original song topping the charts in France in the first six weeks of 1960.
