Gouriki Ayame attends opening ceremony of new ‘Tiffany & Co.’ store

On September 28, actress Gouriki Ayame attended the opening ceremony of a new ‘Tiffany & Co.‘ jewelry store inside the SOGO Chiba department store in Chiba.

For the event, Gouriki wore jewelry worth 13,000,000 Yen (167,531 USD). She expressed, “I’m very nervous, but it makes me feel one step closer to becoming an adult woman.”

She was also asked questions related to the recent marriage of her senior Ueto Aya. She replied, “Of course, I’d like to wear a wedding ring someday, but I still have a long way to go at work. I have to polish myself and become a reliable woman (before thinking about getting married).”

The young actress just turned twenty at the end of August, so wearing a lot of jewelry is still a new experience for her. She bashfully revealed that she doesn’t usually wear extravagant jewelry. She said, “It’s one of my dreams to buy jewelry myself for the first time after becoming an adult woman. Receiving jewelry from a man as a gift would make me very happy as well.”

The new ‘Tiffany & Co.’ store is the 55th one in Japan and the biggest in Chiba. The interior design is made of white marble and a few highlights in ‘Tiffany Blue’. It’s also separated in three different areas for fine jewelry, bridal jewelry, and casual fashion jewelry. For a limited time, they are also displaying a special yellow diamond necklace worth around 340,000,000 Yen (4.4 million USD).

The store opened on the 29th.

On October 28th, actress Gouriki Ayame attended the release event for a new ‘wicca‘ watch, which was designed by herself, at Yebisu Garden Place in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The actress charmed the press and the spectators with a sleeveless and light one-piece dress. She was clearly delighted to show off the special model around her wrist and commented, “I made the digit 5 (go) extra-large, since my name is Gouriki. It’s also my lucky number. I like that it really turned out so big.”

Gouriki also appealed to the people and promoted this watch as the perfect Christmas present. She said, “Up until now, I’ve been receiving a lot of Christmas presents, but now that I’m a working adult, I’d like to be more on the giving end than the receiving end.” The first person to receive this watch as a present is going to be her mother.

After turning twenty this year, Gouriki is trying to gradually become a full-fledged adult, but she revealed that she’s still inexperienced with alcohol. Moreover she’s still living with her parents, but it seems like she has no interest to move out anytime soon. She said, “I can’t do this. I love my family too much.”

The new ‘wicca’ watch is being sold by Citizen Watch and costs 29,400 Yen (370 USD).

Gouriki Ayame to star in next Fuji TV “Getsu 9″ drama

On November 21st, Fuji TV announced that they have selected young actress Gouriki Ayame for the leading role in their upcoming ‘Getsu 9′ (Monday 9:00pm) winter drama titled ‘Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou‘.

Though Gouriki has been appearing in all kind of dramas for seven seasons in a row without rest, this is going to mark her first starring role in a prime time drama let alone a getsu-9 drama. She is really rising rapidly up the career ladder and was really surprised about the offer herself. “I thought this was a hidden camera prank,” she commented.

Gouriki continued, “Of course it came as a huge surprise when I was asked to star in a getsu-9 drama. To be honest, my feelings are still all over the place.” She revealed that after graduating from junior high school, she wrote a letter to her mother in which she fantasized about coming out in a getsu-9 in her future. Now that her fantasy has become reality, she expressed, “I definitely want to live up to everyone’s expectation.”

‘Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou’ is based on a popular mystery novel series of the same name by author Mikami En. Three volumes have already been released so far and together they have sold more than 3,100,000 copies to date. The story follows a girl named Shinokawa Shioriko (Gouriki) who is the shopkeeper of a deserted secondhand book store called ‘Biblia Koshodou’ in Kamakura. Shioriko possesses a great knowledge about ancient books, which helps her to unravel various mysteries and secrets about old books that are being brought to the store by various visitors.

Shioriko is a very introverted girl with an extreme fear of strangers, but as soon as a conversation is about an ancient book, she suddenly becomes really eloquent. It’s a unique character and a good challenge for Gouriki, who commented, “It feels like she’s the exactly opposite of me, but in the past I had been very shy as well. Maybe I should try to become my old self again (for this role).”

The toughest challenge is going to be the fact that she was already told that she won’t be allowed to smile for her role, which is one of Gouriki’s biggest trademarks. She said, “So far I’ve been playing a lot of girls who were always smiling brightly, so this is going to be a new challenge for me.”

The producers also revealed that there will be some kind of love story for those who still associate the getsu-9 time slot with romantic dramas. They stated, “People who crave for a love story will enjoy this drama as much as people who like to solve mysteries.”

Gouriki added, “I hope that everyone will get immersed into the world of ancient books.”

‘Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou’ is scheduled to begin airing in January 2013.
