CHAPTER 24:
AT THE TAKAHASHI MANOR
Acchan and together with the rest of the Kashiwagi stayed over at the Takahashi Manor as Kaidou and Kai both insisted that they should stay there with them so that they could both protect them, especially now that Atsuko’s Uncle is dead.
So when they went to the Kashiwagi’s residence to pick up, Nami-chan, Yukirin and Aunt Minako. Aunt Minako knew instantly when she saw Kaidou with Kai and Acchan that he already told Atsuko about her family’s circumstances and a little bit hesitant agreed to their proposal to live with them, though only temporarily.
AT KAI’S STUDY ROOM
Kai woke up earlier than everyone else, got out of his bed, went to the bathroom and takes a shower. Half an hour later he came out of the bathroom, looking wide awake and refresh, he then quickly get dress then went to his study room, well more like a computer lab room. The room’s just like his private room on his private Island, has lots of computer monitors pasted on the wall, the control panel, books and files alphabetically organize, the only difference was, the interior and the room a lot more wide and spacious.
Kai already learned about Jun’s car accident but Yukirin didn’t mention the little misunderstanding they had as it’s not her place to say it when they picked up her, Nami-chan and Aunt Minako last night, and decided that he’ll visit him later today together with Acchan. He didn’t expect something like this to happen to Jun and it was a really good thing that he didn’t lost his memory, but his still in coma and don’t know when he’ll wake up.
The reason why Kai’s up so early was because he wants to investigate something, well more specifically; he wants to try and find what he can look into Atsuko’s parents and Uncle’s murderers. Different files was scattered on his table, his coffee, half drink as he’s busy hacking at the police’s secret files. Then suddenly someone knock on the door.
Knock Knock*
“Yes, Come in.” Kai said eyes on the computer.
“Y-young master Kai, I’m sorry to interrupt you, b-but someon here wants to see and talk to you.”Toshi opened the door and let himself in
“Who is it?”Kai still not looking.
“Me.”Ray let herself in and didn’t wait for Toshi to tell Kai that it was her wanting to meet him.
“Toshi, can you leave us for a moment.”Kai finally looked up and sees Ray. Toshi excuse himself to leave the two to talk privately.
“What do you want Ray? Make it quick, I’m really busy right now.” Kai stood up from his chair looking and sound annoyed to see Ray so early in the morning.
“Kai~ please tell me that news was nothing.”Ray quickly went to Kai’s side and cries at him.
“Tell me, that we’re still together….please Kai.”Ray begging
“I’m sorry Ray, I should have done this since the beginning and shouldn’t have waited this long to say this.”Kai said
“It’s over for use, Ray. We’re never together. My stupidly agrees to this engagement without my consent.”Kai coldly rejects Ray.
“Please Kai, I’m begging please, don’t do this….”Ray begged again but got interrupted
“Kai.”Acchan suddenly came in cutting off Ray.
“I-I’m sorry Young master, young miss j-just wouldn’t take a no for an answer.”Toshi who were behind Atsuko apologizes to his master
“It’s alright, I and Miss Ray are done talking, please show her the way out.”Kai smiled when he sees Atsuko
“You! It’s all because of you! You ruined everything! I’ll make you pay for this!”Ray pointing at Atsuko as she starts to walk towards her.
“Ray, stop it, this had nothing to do with Atsuko! This is my fault!”Kai blocked Ray’s way to protect Atsuko from her
“You, I’ll make you regret of doing this to me!”Ray warned Atsuko as Toshi dragged Ray out of the room. Atsuko didn’t look scared at all but she knew that Ray’s such a bad loser and for sure will get revenge on her.
“Don’t let what she said gets to you…and even if something did happen, I’ll definitely protect you.”Kai turned around to face Atsuko and cupped her cheeks
“Don’t worry; she doesn’t scare me at all.”Acchan smiled at Kai but in her though she knew Ray is serious about that threat and when that time comes, she’ll deal with Ray herself.
AT THE BACKYARD’S PORCH
Soon after, Kai and Acchan went downstairs to the backyard porch where everyone’s waiting for them to eat breakfast. The backyard was really big that you can eventually play golf in there, lots of stargazer lilies and white and other colors roses too making a way to the gazebo and a big angel fountain standing on the middle, between the pathways.
“Good morning” They all greeted as Kai and Acchan sit on the table with them.
“Good morning.” Kai and Acchan replied
“Did you all have a goodnight sleep last night?”Kaidou asked.
“Yes, though, I’m still worried about my house and flower shop. I need to go back there.”Aunt Minako said
“Yes, of course, and if you’re worried about your other belongings, I’ve already asked Cedie, to get it for you.”Kai simply said. Then their breakfast soon came in, the maids put the down the dishes and plates, and once done standby at the corner. Aunt Minako, Yukirin, Acchan are feeling self-conscious as they’re not used to eating while being watched.
“I’m sorry about that, ladies, please leave us.”Kaidou waved off his hand to dismiss the maids and they bowed to him and left them in peace to eat their breakfast.
“Wow! This all look delicious.” Acchan amazed
There breakfast for today is American style breakfast, so lots of egg, bacon, hotdogs, sandwiches, pancakes and as for drinks, Kaidou got a coffee, Aunt Minako got her tea and the rest got juice.
“Help yourselves.”Kaidou said
Nami who was sitting beside Atsuko has been quiet since she woke up. She’s been stealing glances at the man sitting at the head of the table, and hasn’t touched her food.
“Hey, Nami-chan, why aren’t you eating? Are you alright? Are you sick? Or is the food not to your liking? Do you want something else to eat?”Kai asked. He was sitting on his father’s right side, opposite of where Atsuko is seated.
Everyone turn their attention to Nami-chan too. Nami-chan didn’t say anything at all; she just shook her head in reply to Kai’s questions.
“What’s wrong then?”Kai asked again, and then she notice Nami-chan sudden cling and sort of hide behind Atsuko, when she feel that, Kaidou’s father looked at her.
“Am I scaring you, Nami-chan?”Kaidou softly asked, as he has been noticing Nami-chan’s been looking at him since she woke up.
“No, it’s just….”Nami-chan shook her head again and a bit struggling on how she’s going to explain herself why she’s been staring at Kaidou.
“It’s just I-I don’t know, I-I can’t really explain it.”Nami-chan looking down
“Ohh, I’m sorry for making uncomfortable Nami-chan.”Kaidou a bit sad
“Uncle Kaidou, I think, Nami-chan feeling a bit weird out. She’ll get used to your presence in no time.”Acchan said to cheered up Kaidou.
“Then, I guess couldn’t be help. I’ll just try my best and get to know Nami-chan more.”Kaidou smiled at Nami-chan
“Come on, let’s eat. The food is getting cold.”Kaidou ushered them to eat.
AT THE HOSPITAL
As soon as, Kai and Acchan finish their breakfast, they excuse themselves and left to go and visit Jun. Yukirin stayed as to keep Nami-chan company, while Kaidou went back to the company and Aunt Minako was drop off to her flower shop.
When they reach the hospital, they quickly went to the receptionist to ask for Jun’s room number, and then hurriedly went there. As they reach the room, they saw Mr. Matsui outside the room talking with the doctor. Acchan and Kai both greeted him and proceed to Jun’s room and knock
Knock Knock*
Mrs. Matsui opened the door for them; both greeted her with good mornings and gave her the flower, then excused herself for a bit, as she needs to change the flowers and water on the vase. Inside Rena were already sitting next to Jun, holding his hand tightly and when she heard Acchan and Kai’s voice she looked up to see them.
“Hello, Rena. How are you?”Acchan asked and put her hand on Rena’s shoulder comfortingly. Rena just smiled at Atsuko weakly. She
had eye bags; she looked tired and pale as she hasn’t slept at all since last night.
“How is he?” Kai asked as he walked to the other side of the bed to looked and examine Jun. Jun had a lot of tubes which are connected to a few machines inside the room to keep him alive and breathing, IV attached to his hand and another one was the liquidize food for him.
“Umm, Rena, You really need to take a rest, you looked like you’re about to fall,.”Kai notice
“I need to take care of him.”Rena just shook her head.
“Yes, I know that, but Jun wouldn’t want you to fall ill. Take a nap.”Kai persist as Rena can be really stubborn too.
“But…”Rena wants to retort back but Kai cut her off.
“How will you take care of him if you got sick? Jun wouldn’t be happy if you keep doing this to yourself.”Kai interjected.
“Fine, but wake me up after an hour ok.”Rena sighs in defeat and went to the other bed and quickly fell asleep.
Then few minutes later, Mrs. Matsui came back, and even brought more company with her. Riku, Sae, Kuu and Mariko-sama were just behind Mrs. Matsui as they came inside, and as for Yuko, she had practice and the TomoTomo couple had some matters to attend to.
“Hey!” Sae shouted then quickly covered his mouth
“SHHHH!!!! Rena just fall asleep” Kai and Acchan both hushed him
“Sorry…”Sae said almost a whisper. The others silently let out a giggle, as really Sae can be stupid sometimes.
“So Kai, how was your date?” Sae asked as he sports a grin on his face, hinting that his up to something. Kai just rolled his eyes at him as he knew what Sae’s talking about.
“Yah, Kai, were calling you but, it looks like you were really busy with ‘something’.” Kuu added he’s also grinning at him.
“Come on guys, don’t make him angry, or he’ll beat you up to death.”Mariko-sama also playing along, Riku just shook his head and smiled at how his friends can be so silly at times.
“Uhhh!!!! scary…”Sae and Kuu being sarcastic.
“Whatever…but I do have something to tell you guys though….”Kai ignore Kuu and Sae’s sarcasm and looked at them seriously.
“Hey, why are suddenly becoming serious?” Sae asked.
“Yah, Kai, you’re such a kill joy.”Kuu playfully said.
“Sorry, just want to give you guys the heads up….but this matter can wait.” Kai said
The guys stayed there the whole morning and soon after excused themselves with Mrs. Matsui as Rena is still sleeping.
“We’ll be leaving then Aunt Matsui. We’ll come back again tomorrow.” They all said and bid their goodbyes.
Riku returned back to the school, to see how Yuko’s doing in her practice and training, Mariko-sama and Kuu went to go shopping. Sae, Kai and Acchan all go back to Takahashi Manor, when Sae learned that Yukirin will be staying there together with Acchan and the others from now on.
On their way out, they bumped into Mayuyu, who was rushing in, when she was informed that Jun got in a car accident and he’s in coma right now.
“I’m really sorry.” Mayuyu said when she bumped into Sae, Kai and Acchan
“Hey, Mayu! “Kai called
“Ohh, hey guys, we’re you just…”Mayu breathing heavily
“Yah went and visit him…”Kai said
“Ohh, ok… and who’s the girl Kai?” Mayu who just notice Atsuko who’s holding hands with Kai.
“She’s my girlfriend...”Kai said
“Hi, I’m Maeda Atsuko, but Acchan for short.”Acchan introduce herself
“Ohhh Maeda huh? I’m Watanabe Mayu, it’s a nice to meet you. I’m really sorry I got to go.”Mayu quickly introduce herself to Atsuko
“I’ll talk to you guys later.”Mayu hurriedly left them.
“She sure is in a hurry.”Acchan looking at Mayuyu’s figure as she disappears in the crowd.
“I hope, they’re won’t be any trouble.”Sae mumbled
“Did something happen between those three?” Kai asked.
“Yah, I guess I should tell you about it, since I don’t think Rena or Mayu would really talked about it, not when Jun’s coma right now.” Sae resumed walking; Kai and Acchan followed him out of the hospital, heading towards the parking lot and as they walk, Sae told them what happened at the event, then how Yuko asked them out all to hangout, and then finally the car incident
