Maeda’s POV

It turned out it was Yuko who called my bestfriend, and I found out she need’s Tomo’s assistance. For what that I don’t know. But one thing I know is for sure, Oshima Yuko is not going to take my bestfriend away from me or ruin my planned summer vacation with my Minami and bestfriend. That if I can help it, which is why I’m currently running in the hallways of Minami’s school. You’re asking why? Its because…
“Maeda! You get your butt to stop running this instant.” I heard my blonde bestfriend yelled meters away from me. By the looks she’s giving me right now there’s no way I would do what she’s asking.
“Yadda! You’re not going back to Tokyo till I say so.” I yelled back at her, panting lightly from exertion.
“Dammit! You’re not my mother so give me my keys back.” She yelled again, still running after me. You see, when I found out Yuko needs her back from Tokyo I skillfully stole her car keys from her pocket and run away.
“Uh…Acchan, why am I running as well?” Minami asked beside me. When I run away, of course I didn’t forget to grab my girlfriend with me. Who knows what Tomo will do to her. She might even use my Minami as a hostage to exchange for her keys.
“Do you want Tomo to kick you too?” I asked jokingly as her eyes widened while shaking her head side to side. Hmm…even in a frightened state my Minami is still so cute. I giggled inwardly.
“Right! Let’s keep running.” She replied and flinched when she glanced back to find my bestfriend giving her trademark death glares.
“Ne, ne Rena-chan, this is fun, right?”
Asked Juri-chan to Rena-san who was forcefully involved in our situation. The latter only smiled uncomfortably as my cousin drags her into running with her. Looking at her running in hakama was kind of hilarious, that is why it was hard not to erupt in laughter. Though I reminded myself to apologize to her later for my cousin’s behavior.
“Oi brat, stop flirting and get your cousin to stop running already.” My bestfriend barked at my smiling cousin. She’s enjoying this too much.
“Atsu-nee, anytime now. Come on, stop running.” Juri-chan sing-songed from behind me. When I looked back at her, I saw her skipping? While swinging Rena’s hand.
“Juri-chan, you supposed to be on my side.” I whined, still running. At this rate I’m going to run out of oxygen any moment and that is totally bad for me.
“Gomen, Atsu-nee! Tomochin paid me a lot.” She excitedly said back.
“Damn right! So do your job.”
“Aye! Aye! Captain Itano.”
With that she suddenly sprinted, surprising Rena-san who was caught off guard by the sudden change pace.
My eyes widened comically as she gained on us pretty fast. At first I was confident I can out run my bestfriend. Yes, she’s a futsal player, specifically the ace player of their team. So there’s no really an argument that she would catch me, the girl who belongs to going-home-after-school club. But as her bestfriend who knows her the most, I knew she wouldn’t risk ruining her designer boots running after me. After all, she’s not just known as the futsal ace player but also the fashionable Queen of Shibuya. What I didn’t count into the equation is for my cunning blonde bestfriend bribing my dear cousin.
“Acchan, this way.” My girlfriend suddenly took a right turn, taking me with her. With that, our so called pursuers lost sight of us momentarily. And with ease, Minami slides the door open to one of the classrooms as she pulled me inside.
“Shh…” she gestured quietly, and seconds later I heard the running footsteps and murmurs of my bestfriend and cousin plus Rena-san as they passed us by unknowingly.
I sighed of relief escaped from my mouth as I heard their voices growing faint. All I need now is to buy more time. If I can do that then I can somehow prevent my blonde bestfriend from going back to Tokyo, consequences be damned.
“So, what now?” My Minami asked, taking a peek at the small transparent window at the upper corner of the door.
I ignored her and looked around instead and pass the open window. A smile crept into my face when I noticed the sun almost setting. I looked back to my girlfriend who was still peeking outside from the small window. A thought crossed my mind as I suddenly enveloped her in a hug from behind. She yelped in surprise.
“A-Atsuko…w-what do you think you’re doing?” I giggled. Minami is so cute being all shy, so I decided to tease her more by nuzzling my nose to her neck.
“Minami…you smell so good.” I purred into her ear and I felt her shiver.
“Atsuko…s-stop that.” I ignored her pleading and bit her ear instead. She jumped in surprised, knocking my forehead accidentally whilst letting her go at the same time.
“Ittai…” I muttered while touching my forehead.
“B-baka, it’s your own fault.”
“But you don’t have to head-butt me.” I pouted cutely at her. I know it’s not her fault but I’m trying to milk my injury for Minami’s caring side to appear. Surprisingly it’s working as she walked closer to me, prying my hand from my forehead gently to check for any injuries.
“Tsk…you big baby, it’s only a tiny bump.”
“But its still hurts.”
“You’ll live.”
“You’re so mean, Minami-meanie.” I feigned being hurt, rubbing my forehead for more effects.
Why can’t she just be sweet now that we’re alone? Does it kill her being affectionate to me once in a while? I grimaced inwardly when a certain blonde crossed my mind. Kami-sama, these two are really much like two peas in a pod.
“Am I not important to you, Minami-meanie?” I asked while trying to muster the saddest expression I can make. If my Minami won’t show her caring side then I’ll force it out of her.
“W-What are you talking about? Of course you’re important. That’s a stupid question, insulting even.” A frown appeared on her face. I’m only teasing her but she took my question seriously. Really, this girl has to loosen a bit.
Smiling softly at her, I tugged at her hand to bring her closer to me. She stumbled a little and quickly put her free hand to my shoulder to steady herself. She mumbled something about pulling people without warning is dangerous. I only chuckled at her adorableness. When she looked up at me, she instantly looked away as a blush slowly appeared on her face due to our close proximity. Ahhh! My Minami is so adorably cute and sadly oh very shy as well.
“You’re so shy.” I voiced out, tugging her more closely to me.
“And I’m sorry for teasing you so much. You’re right, that’s a stupid question, and I know I’m important to you as you are to me. After all, Minami is the only one for me.” I smiled at her while softly touching her cheek.
“Baka! Stop saying embarrassing things.” My Minami blushed even more. But contrary to what she said, she leaned more to my touch. Slowly, she looked up to meet my gaze. I can see she was fighting herself not to look away due to her shyness. And knowing she’s doing it for me makes me fall even harder to her.
“Atsuko is the only one for me too, just so you know.”
That instant I thought my heart stops beating, but I was wrong. It was actually beating loudly against my ribs it’s the only thing I can hear that it rendered me speechless. What’s more was that Minami said it without stuttering and with a soft expression on her face. I felt my cheeks getting warm by her sudden confession. If I’m not sure what to describe my feelings for Minami before, now I have a pretty clear idea what to call it. Love. I’m in love with my Minami.
Smiling back to my girlfriend I forgot all the restraints I had put to myself as I leaned in and captured her lips in a searing kiss. I can’t help but smiled into the kiss when I felt Minami kissed me back with the same passion and intensity. I felt like melting and floating in the air at the same time. Her lips are so soft I couldn’t resist in nipping it lightly. I was about to deepened the kiss when suddenly the door slides open with a loud bang.
“Mit-suke-ta AHHH!!”
“Oh my God, I can’t unseen that.”
“Ta-Takamina-san…ki-kissu?”
Three different reactions; when I felt like floating in the air before, now I left like burying myself underground being caught red-handed so to speak. But despite with wanting to disappear right now, I tried to read the one reaction that matters to me the most, Tomochin. I know she already knows my relation to Minami, but to see it out in the open without admitting to her first feels like I betrayed her trust. Like I failed as her bestfriend. I don’t want Tomo to think she’s not important to me. It’s the total opposite actually, she’s important as my Minami. As I’ve said, her opinion matters the most that is why I find it hard to tell her I already have a girlfriend. I’m afraid of what’s she’s going to say about Minami, her view of her. And considering her over-protective nature I wouldn’t be too surprise if she’ll give my girlfriend a hard time. We all know how scary Tomo can be.
Jumping away from my girlfriend I flinched when I saw the pointed stare my bestfriend was giving me. That is not good news for me. I may need a lot of courage to face her wrath later. For now I need to fix this.
“Seriously Atsu-nee, we don’t need to see that.” My cousin grumbled, hiding behind Rena-san who appears to be in a catatonic state.
“Ki-ki-ssu…?!”
“I think you just broke her.” Tomo gestures towards Rena-san.
“Both of them.” She added, nodding towards my girlfriend sprawled on the floor, eyes widened as she looks to my bestfriend while mumbling ‘I’ll take responsibility for my actions.’ I think my Minami was in a state of shock and panic for being caught kissing me by my bestfriend. Oh, poor Minami.
“I guess I did.
I said slowly, an awkward smile on my face.
