Computer Angel

Chapter 3
“Oh! Look! A sword!” A twelve-years-old girl pointed at a sword that placed on one of the display in a museum. Her parents stopped to look at their daughter. Her eyes sparkled with such an interest.
“That sword… is called katana. A traditional Japanese sword. It was samurai’s and ninja’s signature weapon. All noble family in Japan used it for some ceremony,” her father said smiling. Then he continues to walk to see the other stuffs. The girl stared at it for some moment before following her parents.

“Dad… I’m tired~” She yawned and rubbed her eyes with one hand, her other hand is clinging onto her mom’s hand.
“Alright, alright. Let’s go home. Here’s the car’s key. You can go first while we grab something for you to fill your stomach at that cafeteria. Okay, Rena?” Rena’s dad smiles. The girl – Rena – accepted the key and ran outside towards the car. She opened the car then took the front passenger seat and watch her parents. Her parents smiles at this and went towards the cafeteria and did what Rena’s dad said.
After awhile, Rena saw her parents came out from the museum and smiling to herself. Then she saw some men walked from a van, holding something that looks like a gun. She saw them walking to her parents and argue about something.
Her eyes widened when – maybe the leader of those guys – pointing his gun to her dad’s chest. As she saw the leader shots her parents, her visions blurred

“!!!”
Rena’s eyes snapped open. She breathed heavily. She closed her eyes as she tried to calm herself down. She grinned bitterly to herself when she realized that all of the scenes is just her memories that become a nightmares.
She opened her eyes a little to adjust her eyes from the lights that come from through her curtains. Morning has come.
Then she heard some mutters next to her. Rena shifted her eyes to a girl that lay next to her. She’s quite surprised when she found out that their bodies are so close. She looked at her hands that seem managed themselves to hold the other girl’s waist as they both asleep.
Rena looked at Jurina’s face closely, learning it completely. She brushed some strands of Jurina’s hair to get a better look. She placed her fingers on Jurina’s face then retreated when she felt some electricity sparks on the tip of her fingers. She placed back her fingers on the face in front of her, trying to hold herself to not to pull back when she felt the same things.
‘Wha... what was that…?’ Rena thought to herself as she traced her fingers on Jurina’s face.

It’s been five or ten minutes Rena learning and remembering Jurina’s sleeping face in front of her. She took a glance to her alarm clock and jumped out of bed carefully to not to wake up Jurina. She took a quick bath and change to her uniform.
“Jurina, wake up. We must go to school.” Rena shook Jurina gently. Jurina stirred and mumbling something like, “Five more minutes, mom…” and go back to sleep.
Rena sighed and shook Jurina again, this time is harder than before. “I’m not your mom. And if you don’t wake up for now, I won’t make you a breakfast,” She said, adding some light threat.
Jurina’s eyes snapped open upon hearing what Rena said. “Rena?” she said, almost whispering. Then she looked around her surroundings. Her eyes widened when she remembered whose room is this. Her eyes found Rena who stood straight, towering her. Jurina scratched the back of her head and smiled nervously at Rena.
“Yes, it’s me. Now, take a bath while I cook some breakfast for us. I’ve prepared a towel for you to use.” Then Rena left Jurina alone in her room. Jurina looked at the clock and rushed to the bathroom.

Rena’s PoVI wore an apron over my school uniform as I get in the kitchen. I took a peek at Jurina’s house through the window and found out that Jurina’s dad’s car still haven’t back since yesterday.
“Seriously.. How can I spy you if you’re not in your home, Matsui Toda…” I muttered, almost whispering in process. I turned back and searching for some ingredients that I have.
I got some eggs, some fresh vegetables, left-over rice, some garlic, onions, and a lot of sauces. Chili sauce. “Hmm, I’ll make fried rice. Oh, I love spicy.” I smiled to myself.
I washed all the ingredients I need except the eggs and rice before I chopped one or two vegetables, three garlic and onions while I boiled five chili. I have to restrain myself since I have a, uh, guest here.
I scrambled two eggs on a pan then I added the garlic and the onions. I made sure the egg is done before I put the rice. I fried them until they half-cooked before adding the vegs and some salts before I mixed them all. Lastly, I added the sauce.
I heard some faint sounds of footsteps upon the stairs when I tasted my fried rice. I’m already known who it is. Well, my home has two people in it right now. So it’s not surprising.
“Umm, smells good. What do you make for breakfast, Rena-chan?” Jurina came out from upstairs and peeked from over my shoulders.
“Fried rice. It will be done within a minute. Prepare two plates from the rack and take a seat at the table.” I told her and she did what I said. Ah, the rice is not so spicy but I think it was okay for this morning.
I turned off the stove and bring the pan with fried rice on it to the table. I placed it in the two plates I asked to be prepared earlier. “Here. I’ll get two glass of milk for us. Just in case if your tongue got burned by the food.”
“Eh?” She stared at me, clueless. I just smiled and went for the milk. I took a glance at her shrugged her shoulders and begin to eat her food. I smirked.
Soon, I heard her squealed and begging for water. I grinned. But… I think that fried rice isn’t really spicy. Or is it just me? I shrugged off those thoughts from my head and make my way faster to get the milk.
I placed a glass of milk near to Jurina as I sat and began digging in my plate of fried rice. Hmm, less spicy than my taste. But I think it’s spicy enough if it made Jurina reacts like that. Actually, I was enjoying her expression when she got burned from the spiciness. It looks… cute. Eh? What am I talking about?
I finished my plate and drink half of my own milk. I noticed Jurina has finished too but still a little bit suffering from the not-so-spicy fried rice. Because of my high tolerance to spicy food, I didn’t need so much drink. So, I gave my milk to Jurina then picked up all unused dishes and placed them to the sink. I’ll clear them up once I’m back from school.
“Are you okay, Jurina? Did the food still a little too spicy for you?” I asked Jurina, feel a little guilty. I took the empty glass in her hands and filled it with water. I drink it a little. I looked at the clock. We still have some plenty of time before the school starts.
“…You’re such a meanie.” Jurina slightly whispered. Tears gathered at the corner of her eyes due to the spiciness earlier. I felt guiltier. I placed my drink on the table and approached her.
“I’m sorry, Jurina. I thought it wasn’t too spicy for you. So I thought it was okay.” I soothing her by rubbed her back, hugged her in process. I lifted her face and wiped away the tears. Then, I kissed both her eyes.
The electrifying feeling invaded me, but I try to stay still. I pulled away from Jurina and smiled at her. “Will you forgive me?” I asked her again.
She blushed and hung her head a little. “Yes.” She said shyly. My smile grew wider and hug her again. I felt her hugged me back. I broke our hug and
said, “Shall we go to school? You don’t want to be late, right?”
She nodded and ran upstairs to get her bag. I already brought my bag down with me. I waited for her to go downstairs.

Jurina’s PoVI closed Rena’s door behind me and started to make my way down, but something halted me from doing it. I looked at the door across Rena’s room curiously. I glanced down to downstairs and decided to peek in to the room.
I opened the room and saw so many monitors, some computers, a tablet, and a few laptops inside it. The walls are white. With no single stains. I didn’t meant to be impolite to Rena, but… curiosity is curiosity. I saw a large rectangular box on top the table when I heard Rena shouted from downstairs, “Jurina!! Come on!!” I closed the door and running down to the living room.

Rena locked the door once we stepped out of her home. I looked around at the neighborhood. I searched for some evidences if my parents have back home from wherever they went to. None. I wonder where they’ve been all night. I ran to my own home and checked the garage door. Closed. I went to the front door and tried to open it. Locked. I walked around my home to see if the entire windows were closed and the curtains were down.
“All curtains were down, Jurina. I’d made sure of it.” Rena’s gentle voice came from out of nowhere. I almost shrieked because of her sudden appearance. Then I felt her warm breath near my neck. I turned around and find her standing right behind me. There she is, stood calmly as ever. She smiled innocently like an angel. Soon, her head tilted to one side as she said, "Yes?"
“You’re scaring me, Rena-chan!”
“I’m sorry. Are you alright? We better go to school by now. School will start soon. I don’t want you to be late. Especially you’re still can be called new.”
“Yeah.. I think I’m okay now. And you’re right.” With that, the both of us left my home and began to made our way to school.

At school, I dozed off almost all the time. My mind always wandering to where is my parents gone and a room filled with monitors, computers, a tablet, and laptops inside of Rena’s home. I wonder if my parents have go back home yet. Should I sleep at Rena’s place again for tonight? I sighed.
“Kuumin! I missed you so much already!”
“Anna~! I missed you too~!!” Kumi-chan came to my classroom again just like yesterday. I saw her hugged Anna tightly and when they pulled off, they stare at each other eyes, err… lovingly? I think so. Are they a couple? Is it the one that Rena didn’t want to tell me yesterday?
“Hey, Jurina-chan! Come join us for lunch on the rooftop.” Kumi and Anna approached me. Kumi’s left arm was hugged by Anna who is leaning against it. Both of them smiling brightly.
“Uh, I liked to. But I forgot to bring my lunch.” I lied to them. Of course I didn’t forget it. I really didn’t have any lunch with me.
“Oh, don’t worry about it. Come on, just come.” Then they dragged me outside the classroom. They stopped eventually when we reached the stairs to the rooftop. I stumbled when they let go of me. I was almost fall when I felt a hand held me by my waist, stopping me from falling. I blushed at this.
“Are you that clumsy, Jurina? I thought you were an athletic type.” Rena’s voice came from next to me as she helped me standing on my feet again.
“Hi Kumi, Anna. Lunch at rooftop, eh?” Rena looked at Kumi and Anna. The three of them are grinning at each other.
“Yep! And we’re planning to take Jurina with us.” Kumi replied.
“But she said she forgotten her lunch.” Anna added.
“Forgotten, eh? Well, I think I’ll join you guys, too. I can share my lunch with Jurina. So you lovebirds didn’t have to share your lunch.” Rena grins became wider as Kumi and Anna blushed deeply. Then she turned at me and smiling softly which is creeping me up. She does now that I didn’t have lunch, right?

Here I am. Sat next to Rena at school’s rooftop. Sharing Rena’s lunch. But, why did she have a lunchbox with her? I didn’t see her preparing lunch this morning. I took a glance at Rena who is eating her side calmly. She really looks like an angel. And a noble. Wait, or is it a noble angel? Or something likes that? Argh, my mind is so messed up today!
I tried to ignoring those thoughts and focusing on my shared lunch. I looked up to Kumi and Anna who are also sharing their lunch. Maybe feeding is the right words. Anna picked up a sausage with her chopsticks and placed it in her mouth. She turned to Kumi who saw her movements. Kumi leaned towards Anna and… Eh? Why is my vision suddenly become dark? Fingers? I backed slightly and followed the fingers to the source of it.
“Why I can’t see what they were doing?” I tilted my head to one side, waiting for Rena to answer.
“For your mind’s sake.”
“Yeah, okay. But why?”
“How old are you?”
“What kind of answer is that? I’m 14 years old. What?”
“Nah, you’re still having your innocent mind with you. Besides, you’re still young.”
“What the --?! But Anna-chan is just a year older than me!”
“No is a no, Jurina. It’s the final.”
Growled, I turned to my food and continue to eat them angrily after I took a quick glance at Rena.

‘Why am I stopped Jurina from watched Kumi and Anna kissing? It’s not like what they were doing is rated.’ Rena thoughts about what happened at the rooftop as she walked to Jurina’s classroom to pick the later up. It was 2 PM. School has finished two hours earlier than usual.
Her phone vibrated. She stopped in track and pulled out her phone from her pocket. One mail received. She flipped it open. It was from her self-made spying program.
‘Matsui Toda recent place: Shinjuku. Shinjuku? What did he do in Shinjuku?’ She thoughts in disbelief. ‘Oh, well. I’ll check it later at home. At least yesterday I’ve finished a virus to messing up some system.’
“Ah, Rena-chan? What are you doing here?” A familiar voice called up from behind her.
“Oh, Kuumin. Well, I’m waiting for Jurina to pick her up. And you…”
“Anna, of course! Oh, there they are! Anna, here!!” Kumi waved to Anna to announced her and Rena position. Anna waved her back and walked, almost running if there are no other students. Jurina followed behind her.
Kumi turned to Rena and said, “See you tomorrow, then. Oh, and Jurina is still underage right?”
“Yeah. Why?”
“Nothing! See you tomorrow!” Then she ran to chased Anna who happened to walked out first.
“See you!!” Rena shouted to her running figures. Jurina watched them blankly. “What was Kumi said to you earlier?” The later asked Rena.
“Huh? Oh, that was nothing. Home?”
“Absolutely!”
