Hey guys, thanks for the positive remarks. ♥ You guys are the best. I'm happy many are excited by the prologue. AND YES, there will be some SasshiAi, cause we all know how tsundere Lovetan is for Sasshi. So here's the first chapter, enjoy. ♥
01. Black & Sashiko.
Heavy footsteps echoed along the dark and empty hallway. The man with a big body-built panted as he turned around the corner and rested his back on the wall. He tightened his hold on his gun and warily looked from side to side. He listened attentively for another set of footsteps but only heard the sound of himself sucking in air.
“Where the fuck is she?” He hissed under his breath. Minutes passed with nothing happening and the man straightened up. “Probably got scared, that little coward.”
He knelt down on the floor and took out the device in his pocket. He opened it and stared at the numerous wires, each in different colors. “Which was it again?” He whispered to himself, wiping away the sweat forming on his forehead.
“You should cut off the red and the blue.”
He jumped n surprise and quickly raised his gun in front of him. Footsteps echoed as a woman walked out of the shadows.
“Cut off the red and the blue. That’s what they always do in the movies.” The woman grinned.
“Shut up!” He shouted and glared. “Don’t take another step or I’ll shoot you.”
“I’m telling you, the red and blue wires are always the ones to cut off.” She said again.
The man said nothing and she took a step forward. The man narrowed his eyes and pulled the trigger.
“HOLY SHI—” The girl ducked immediately and covered her head with both of her hands. “THAT WAS DANGEROUS! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED ME, STUPID! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?!” She ranted, screaming her head off while glaring at the man with a frown.
“SHUT UP! I TOLD YOU TO SHUT UP!”
“THE WHOLE BUILDING IS GONNA EXPLODE, YOU STUPID, POMPOUS GOON! CUT OFF THE DAMN WIRE ALREADY!”
The man laughed maniacally at the frightened and panicking voice of the girl. “THAT IS MY PLAN, YOU CRAZY BITCH.”
Her eyes widened. “CRAZY BI— YOU DID NOT JUST CALL ME THAT! I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT I AM NO CRAZY BITCH, YOU CRAZY ASSHOLE!”
She continued on ranting and the man growled. He lost his patience and raised his gun again, ready to shoot. “I SAID SHUT THE HELL—”
“YOU WANT A CRAZY BITCH?! I’LL SHOW CRAZY BITCH TO YOU!” She continued on screaming before taking a deep breath just as the gun was raised to her. “BLAAAAAAAAAACK!”
There was a loud swoosh in the air just as the man made a move to pull the trigger. He let out a loud scream of pain as a knife buried itself on his palm.
“DAMMIT!” He reached for his gun using his uninjured hand as he cradled the other one near his chest.
“No, you don’t.” The gun was kicked away by another woman. She stood in front of him. “You.” She whispered, pointing a knife at his face.
“Yamato Kato, 34 years old.” She muttered in a bored voice. “I’m gonna kill you.”
“W-who the hell are you people!?” He stared at the woman before her with frightened eyes. “Why are you after us?”
She moved closer to him and pressed her knife close to his neck. “Team48. My name is Black.” She whispered and smiled. “Now that you know who we are, you know too much. Goodbye.” Her smile turned wicked before she swiped the sharp knife across the man’s neck. Blood instantly flowed out of the deep cut and the man fell lifelessly on the floor.
She let out a sigh and buried the knife on the man’s chest before wiping the blood away on her clothes.
“Well, that was disgusting.” The woman from before deadpanned. “No need to be all so gory, Yuki.”
“Shut up, Sasshi.” Yuki frowned. “And what was that about you calling me a crazy bitch, Sashiko hetare.”
Sasshi huffed. “Well, you are a crazy bitch when you’re killing people, Black-sama.”
The two friends continued to argue playfully until a loud beeping sound interrupted them. They both turned to the source of the sound, the bomb device.
“Oh shit, it’s gonna explode!” Sasshi panicked as they ran to the device.
“One minute left, do something, Sasshi!” Yuki’s eyes widened as she shook her friend, her previous cool image shattering in an instant.
“What do you want me to do?!” Sasshi fiddled with the device, looking at the multi-colored wires.
“You’re the one who’s good with those things! Just do something before it explodes!”
Sasshi let out a whimper as she panicked. She glanced at the wires. Blue, red, pink, orange, green, white, black. She hesitated for a moment and looked at the time.
Yuki slapped her on the back. “30 seconds, Sasshi, come on!”
Sasshi glared at Yuki before pulling on her own hair. “MOU, WHATEVER!” She grabbed Yuki’s knife and carelessly cut off the red and the blue wires. She quickly hugged herself and waited for an explosion to occur. After a while, nothing happened and Sasshi slowly raised her head. “I-It did not explode?”
Yuki, who was hugging herself too, peeked at the device and smiled widely. “It stopped!”
“Oh, good.” Sasshi slumped on the floor and let out a relieved sigh. “I thought we were gonna explode.”
“You thought... You mean you didn’t know what you were doing?” Yuki asked as she stood up and dusted herself.
Sasshi shook her head. “Nope.”
“But you got the right wires. You were even tricking him earlier.”
“Oh.” Sasshi let out a sheepish giggle. “I didn’t know which wire should be cut off. I only chose the red and the blue because they are always showed in movies, right?”
Yuki felt her eyebrow twitch in annoyance. “So there was a chance we could have died?”
Sasshi nodded. “Yep. Good thing I’m good, huh?” She grinned.
Yuki rolled her eyes and walked away. “You’re useless, Sasshi.”
“H-Hey, don’t leave me, Yuki!” Sasshi scrambled to her feet and ran after Yuki. She caught up quickly and let out a tired sigh. “I’m tired, this is our fourth night working straight and the boss asked us to drop by his office after this. Isn’t this like, abuse or something?”
“It must be something important if he left a message personally.” Yuki got in the black car and waited for Sasshi to do the same before starting the engine. “Well, whatever it is, we need to do it. Send a message to HQ that we’re coming back.”
“Roger~” Sasshi drawled.

Yuki slowly pushed open the heavy glass door and let herself in with Sasshi right behind her.
“Black, Sashiko.” A deep voice greeted them. “You’re back early. I take it your mission went well?”
“Yes, sir.” Sasshi answered seriously, bringing out a small tablet from her pocket which showed several pictures of different men including the one from before. “All 20 members of the Yamato Group were disposed off. Not one survived.”
“Well done. As expected from my two best agents.” The man smiled and gestured to the small couch. “Why don’t you two take a seat? That way we can talk about your next mission. A long term one.”
“A long term one?” Yuki questioned. That would be a first. All their missions so far have been quick ones, usually involving wiping out illegal groups of people and assassinating VIP ones.
“Yes. I’m assigning the two of you to protect someone. She’s a high school girl. She holds a very special and powerful information in her mind. She’s not aware of it but it’s there. We’ve been silently keeping watch on her for years now but lately, the number of people and groups after her has increased and we need to ensure her security more than ever.”
“A special and powerful information?” Sasshi frowned. “What is it?”
“We’re not entirely sure of it yet but many want her for it.” He produced two folders and slid it across the table, one for Yuki and one for Sasshi. “A detailed explanation of your new mission is inside those folders along with all the information we got on your charge.” He looked at them seriously. “Black, Sashiko.”
The two immediately straightened up. “Akimoto-sama?”
“Do everything in your power to protect this girl. Risk your life if you have to, just don’t let anything happen to her.”
Sasshi and Yuki both nodded and stood up straight. “We will.” Yuki answered with finality before giving their boss one last nod and walking out of the dark office.
“This seems like a heavy mission.” Sasshi sighed out.
“Yeah...” Yuki agreed with a sigh of her own.
Sasshi eyed the folders and nudged Yuki lightly. “Why don’t we take a peek at our new charge?”
Yuki nodded and opened her folder. A picture of a high school girl greeted her and she read the name under it,
“Watanabe Mayu.”
