How to vote:

Go to the candidates page:

There is a box for each candidate and at the bottom of each box is a button (marked with red arrow in screenshot). Click on the button of the candidate you want to vote for, and you will be redirected to a new page where you can fill in your Vote ID that you got with your CD (second screenshot). When filled in, click the button. It's that easy.

Repeat this process for each Vote ID that you have. If for some reason you are not redirected to the Vote ID form after clicking the candidate button, just try again. (happened to me the first time I clicked it).

I've just used one of my ID. I'm surprised they ask how old I am and where do I live. I guess they wanted to know the demographics of the fans who voted for certain member. Or maybe it's just some bullshit security measures

I heard 「5期生に何人入るんでしょうか？」 somewhere (Fuji TV karano?). It could means 5th gen. member quota will be decided by some threshold? It could be 10 members

Iseki really doesn't connect with the other girls at all.

When they stand in a circle, have their hands meet in the center and do this fire up chant (I don't know what it's called), Iseki is, for a moment, part of the group, but as soon as the circle dissolves, she gets left standing at the side and the other girls behave as if she didn't exist.

I'm sure that the age difference is part of the reason and I understand that the girls are in a way rivals, but I have the feeling that the other girls could show some more effort to include her. Whichever girl did that would certainly earn points in my book. While being pretty and cute, as well as singing and dancing talent are valuable traits, I think that at the end of the day it is also very important – to me at least – that they have a kind heart.

^ you missed Karen. she is the only one who actually cared with Iseki. she has the leadership aura, even though she is 2nd oldest candidates(after Izumi?).

I guess they see Iseki as an amateur who is trying to get into their "business". Most of these girls are also models and models have a high sense of pride for themselves. But I think the main reason is the 5th gen episode was shot within a day, and they just don't have enough time to know each other. That's why they only hang out with people they had already know.

But it was sad seeing Iseki without any friends

I still haven't voted for anyone yet so she'll be getting my sympathy votes.

The voting poll is updated, the deadline is 1/31/2012 so start making decisions and bring those votes in soon.

Takami Nao reminded me of someone but I couldn't quite put a finger on it but finally figured it out, she resembles Mano Erina.

It's going to be a lot of pressure put on 5th gen. members when they join Idoling because the first single they are going to be a part of will be going for the first ever weekly Oricon #1 ranking.

Finally finished voting. My impression of most of them changed after all these interviews, imatsubu and pictures so in the end I decided on these 6:

#3 Iseki Risa - 1 (Pity vote. I can't help but think that her dad forced her to audition for his own personal gain. lol)
#4 Ooya Rikako - 12 (My favorite Love Berry model in the current lineup apart from Asahi and Kaede. Can't let her looks get to waste after LB is over.)
#8 Kawakami Manami - 7 (She has this huge country girl vibe to her which doesn't make sense when you realize she's born and raised in Tokyo. lol.)
#10 Takahashi Kurumi - 12 (

#12 Tanaka Rina - 1 (I liked her during the 5th gen. special)
#13 Tamagawa Ramu - 12 (My favorite out of them all for a lot of reasons. lol)

Talk about procrastinating

Iseki x3 : I want to see how she will grow together with the group. I think she has the potential but I'm not sure about her motivation. All that she does look forced

Ooya x2 : I liked her gravure in the Weekly Playboy

I liked how she looks in Love Berry(Thanks to Ayabie for the "research materials")
Ogata x3 : I'm impressed with her interaction with the fans on Imatsubu. She handwrote every answer for questions that the fans sent her, that shows dedication
Kaneko x1 : The vote that I promised to give her when I met her in Lazona
Kawakami x6 : I think she has the character that none of the current member possess(calm, composed and intelligence) When I first saw her during the afternoon session of the 11th live, I thought "I wanna see this girl in Idoling!!!"

Yanaka x2 : I picked her for the exact opposite reason that I picked Iseki. I think this girl is ready to be a star. She already goes to dance and voice training class. And she doesn't look half bad either

as always blinded by empty senses due to fanboying certain members

4x Izumi Marina, I was rooting for her since the 4th gen audition. At least this time I get to contribute something to it.
2x Iseki, the silent girl gets my vote. I'm sure there must be some reason that she was at least shortlisted as the final 15, I trust the staff decision on that one. Plus she looks like she needs the votes.

Both girls hardly get camera time during the 2 hours special.

Due to the damn slow belgian postal services (what service??), my package with my 6 copies from the handshake events had not arrived in time (in fact,it's due to arrive sometime this week), so I was only able to vote 3 times instead of 9 times...
So I voted:
1x Tamagawa Ramu: those magical eyes and that nervously excitedness . I can see her grow up wonderfully like Ruka.
1x Takahashi Kurumi: very cute & she's also something sparkling
1x Iseki: something must have made her ending up in the last 15, and she looks cute when she smiles, she deserves it. I'm already seeing her getting taken care of by the older members (like they showed Umeko already talking to her)

if I had 9 votes I would have voted:

What's with all the "Iseki" pity voting? Come on guys! Vote for someone who actually might stand a chance. No one wants another bunch of quiet and uninteresting girls.

I saw the whole pity voting thing coming even before the fan voting event began, I also think it's not good to vote out of pity, I wouldn't have a problem at all if they think Iseki has potential and whatnot, but they are voting on a premise that she indeed is inferior and needs a lot of work which goes against the whole purpose of voting for the BEST possible candidate for Idoling.

I just don't think those who pity vote are thinking very thoroughly of the severe implication of it, because I surely would think that nobody wants a new member who is going to be a big burden and a headache case which in turn could possibly destroy the whole make-up of Idoling.

I understand that the most popular 5th gen. candidate could turn into just as big a burden and an epic fail case but that's just an extremely unlikely scenario, in Iseki's case you can just FEEL it coming that she's going to be a lot of work, so why pity vote for her? I have no idea.
