^ The way I see it, UFA isn't losing any money from a recording being posted, so it should be ok. :? It's not like it's possible to BUY the audio, and everyone who could go to the concert in person surely did go.

Tsunku may personally contact me and tell me how wrong I am if he likes. I'm also interested in becoming the first 26-y-o busu gaijin idol in H!P. Call me!!

At the H!P Idol Madness panel with J-triumf now, seems people lined up for the charity auction this morning (I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on the merch though). Yesterday's Q&A was pretty cool (for me at least). It was kinda too bad they allowed people to give presents during it, but I was able to give my stuff directly to Saki (wish I'd asked for Miya to come up too) and explain to her which was for who. XD Hope the letters at least get to them lol. So that was pretty cool. Then got to see and talk to them again at the autograph session. XD Finally told Saki I translate her blog... I'll have to post a comment to her next blog entry about that too. The mad rush to the autograph line sucked, but I think everyone pretty much got one.

Hello! Party was all right last night, though I think I'm just getting too used to these. XD It was a smaller room though, and so it made it feel more intense and like more people were there. Gonna head to NYC this afternoon, like a lot of others it seems... including Berryz. Manhattan's pretty big, but I wonder if anyone will run into them? ^^

where did I leave off?
Went back out and met up with a bunch in the sports bar in the Holiday Inn. We had a couple of toasts and merryment abounded. Soon a group of us headed up to one of the rooms and started getting stuff together for the Hello Party 3.
It was about as fun as the drunken scrapbooking back at AX on '09, just a different kind of fun. We started a round of fuck, marry, kill. we even got the forums involved later.
Marry Hello ranking, kill hello online and fuck JPH!P!!.
We ordered pizza @1 and it showed up @3. We called it a night at 4 and went to bed.
They had a line going fot the Q&A/autograph session by the time I rolled out of bed at the crack of noon Jen and Brian showed up the same time and we were 149, and 150 on the list. We were out there for a while. Jen went off in search of a Saki autographed litho that were randomly given out with the cds at the merch booth. Brian went into the shade and was working on last minute details of the party on his laptop.
There were a couple of girls behind me and one of them didn't have a pripority wristband. I fished out my 3rd from the earlier purcase I made for Ping(since all I wanted was sold out or the litho's that came with the cd)the second one I gave to Ping when I handed him the cds. Her and her friend talked and she went off to get a cd at the booth.

She came back with the sad news that the merch booth was empty. As they thought of what to get signed I again fished around my bag and pulled out the copy of the 7th album I brougth with me in the chance that there would be more than one chance in line(also lugged the 2012 calender in a tube most of the day). I handed it to her as well and made her day(which mhelped made mine). The weather was being a bit uncooperative, light rain followed by bright hot sun so I made my way to the shade that Brian, Jen, and a couple of others and got a bit of rest.
Soon the con staff were putting up barriers in between the line and ur little patch of shade and informed us that they were closing off this side and we had to get back in line.
After a while of us pondering why they were doing this the crowd ahead of us began to start raising a bit of a ruckus. The side had been cleared to have Berryz walk from the Double tree to the conventioncenter.(have it on vid and will be posting it later.)

As we made our way into the center one of the staff was counting people off, I asked what number she was on when we got to her and she said 158(so much for the list) just inside the door we could see the girls across the way, with one security guy on our side who actually told Jen that she couldn't look at them. Brians responce was"you're pretty".
We ended up in different rows, and I was behind a couple of taller(who isn't) big headed guys so my view wasn't the best but hey I ws here soon to be in the preasance of awesome.

After everone was seated Yaz got the ball rolling by bringing the girls out for pics(and vid) to be posted later. They left the stage soon after and we got a vtr introduction. What followed was a bit of Q&A with a lot of gift giving(this was the only time for gifts and because of crowd vs time it was one or the other.

I suck with names but one of us who durring the concert had gotten a little boy up on his shoulders and stole the show. Brought him around for the Q&A and got him up to the mic. The boys question was for Chinami(who got a LOT of love) was "will you marry me" and everyone in the room  awed and melted a bit.

After the Q&A the lining for the autographs took a turn for the bad, but it all worked out. the line went pretty smothly and I think most everyone who wanted one got an autograph. I got my Berryz in Seattle fan DVD(THANK YOU TERRIE)signed by the girls.

After that some of us headed back to Ruby Tusedays for some food before heading out to set up for the party. It was worse than the thursday fiasco, orders took forever, were wrong, my food came out after everone else was done. When the manager was confronted he set out to avoid our table.
There was more but lets skip to the party.

They had 4 games; the stab the barrel/pirate pops out game, the rock paper scisors game (winner grabs hammer, looser goes for helmet), zip/zap, and  1on1 trivia game. The people started off with 10 stars on the back of a nametag holder. When you won a game you took a star from the looser at the end of the night the winner got a prize. Also there was much dancing and wotega demonstration. At the end of the night after cleanup we headed out to a 24hr diner and had great food, with great service and great company. 2 night in a row I was ccrawling into bed at 4am.
Today there were no Berryz activities(they headed into New York Saturday after the signing) I slept through the one pannel for Robotech that wasn't coinciding with a berryz event that I really wanted to see, I'm posting this then going in search of food, and a last run through the con, maybe grap a Hangry & Angry t at the H nauto booth.
There are many getting together and going into NewYork for fun and Kareoke, but I have to get up to early for my trip back to the airport and flight home to join this time. Just going to take it easy and wind down after another great HIP con weekend.

EDIT: also Brian and Jen had invited Yaz to the party and gave her the link for the livestream so the girls could watch. Also Yaz recognized me and I gave her another hug(gonna try doing that at each con I can).

^ That would be rude as well. That CD is someone's property :P

Ignoring for the win... Ppl who troll do it for attention, so don't give it to them. That's the real way to piss them off. They want a big reaction, but give them nothing and they'll go home licking their wounds. This advice not necessarily in relation to this incident, but life in general :D

One of the guys I was hanging out with noticed the AKB troll hanging around after Hello Party3, he caught him in the act of trying to swipe someones oversized Saki towel.(the room was decorated in fans donated microfiber towels. his excuse was that no one had claimed it so he thought it was up for grabs. Did anyone else catch the live stream? There was something else I kind of want to go into but not right away because it was a little bit really sad.

Hung out with J-triumf in NYC today, we rocked the Statue of Liberty and shit, but don't have time to go into it now since I just rolled into my motel and it's 2:30AM... I'll update sometime after I finally get home with all my pictures and videos (or well... a point to facebook and/or youtube where I'll post them at least lol) as well as any final reports.

I pretty much started crying on the train from NYC to my car back home...

Still at the Newark airport so no full recap yet, but I have time to kill so I'm just gonna do a short check-in.

Apparently someone from H!O ran into Berryz at the airport yesterday morning and was allowed to talk to them for a bit.

Con-related bad news: we probably shouldn't expect AnimeNEXT to be hosting another UFA act any time soon; I heard Yaz was furious at the staff for being so disorganized, especially after they chased us fans away during the booth appearance while the girls were looking the other way to sign the banner.

Con-related good news: the Japanese wota in attendance were overheard saying that H!P will be returning to Sakura-Con next year, though no word on who this time. Obviously still a rumor at this point, but with the overwhelming reception here as well as Kikka's Atlanta appearance later this year I wouldn't be surprised that UFA wants to keep pushing for more western visits.

It's been a very emotionally-charged weekend for me as well; despite some setbacks and regrets I'm so glad I forced myself to go. :)

I pretty much started crying on the train from NYC to my car back home...

It's because I wasn't there with my awesomeness to comfort you!

But yeah, I felt sad leaving the hotel on Sunday. T_T I also felt a bit bad that I couldn't come to NYC. I had no way of getting there since I didn't have much money.

I know I'm slow at updating these, but I had to post about this tonight...

http://blog-project.net/shimizu-saki/62256

Saki freaking Shimizu mentioned how I told her I translate her blog... on her blog!!! XD lol
I was back to work today, but this is really such a wonderful conclusion to the weekend......

Hell, do I need any more reports after this? I didn't talk about day 2 when the signing event happened, but Saki took care of the reporting for me. XD
I was also one of the lucky few who got to hand my gifts/letters to her directly (although I wish I'd called Miya down too - she got up as if she thought she should come down when she saw my purple!!), and along with everyone else I got to talk with them in the autograph session... You can see what I talked to Saki about lol, but I was able to say something to all of the girls pretty much. ^^

Ah... Can't think much more right now... My head has just flown away from me I think, lol. Thank you everyone for such a great time :D Rick, J-triumf, Sherrily... it was great seeing you all and hanging out with you (as I mentioned earlier, I especially got to see J-triumf a lot!), and it was great seeing Berryz with you all!!!!

.......Maybe I'll write more if I ever calm down, which I'm not sure will happen at this point, lol

Oh, isn't that picture in that entry the best too? Well, all of them. I especially like the one with the group all close together though  RiiMomo

Got home yesterday and already crushed with my regular workload. I'll be working on my report of the interview during nights and the weekend (and will hopefully be posting it before the weekend ends)

Anyways, here's a short personal recap of the weekend!

Thursday:
Got in at NYC and headed straight to NJ with my friends. Got some supplies to last the weekend and picked up regular con badge.
Went to Ruby Tuesdays with wota buddies and unexpectedly ran into Berryz. Needed to speak & confirm with Yaz about our interview but didn't want to seem like a stalking creeper.
After panicking a while, finally got the guts to approach her. All went well with business talk. Went back to table to join the buddies, waved to Berryz when they left.
And then waited 2 hours to get our food. And another 2 hours before we got our bills. Needless to say, I didn't go back to Ruby Tuesdays the rest of the trip.

Friday:
Naturally woke up around 5AM, not sleepy at all. Got ready and joined the already formed/long line for entering the dealer's room.
Surprised that the con staff actually helped us into turning the list official this time.
Left to get my press pass before dealer's room opened and overheard the girls rehearsing for the live that night. Came back to the line to find people jotting down the setlist
Finally got let into the room. High-fiving all fellow wotas as the line snaked around. Despite being the 24th person in line, had to wait an hour and a half to reach the booth, and by that time almost everything was out of stock. Met up with Ping to test the interview equipment, then went for some quick lunch and rested a bit at the hotel.
Dropped by for the end of the opening ceremony and then headed over to the booth to run into super-assholish AN staff. Especially that fat white tall guy on a power trip. I'll always remember that ugly mug. Anyways, they started screaming at us to try to herd us around. Finally, Berryz came and started signing the banner. Fat tall staff standing in a line in front of us, and that one asshole wouldn't even squat a bit even though he was clearly in the way. Before girls could even finish signing, some con higher-up old man came screaming into the crowd because we were creating a fire hazard. Having enough of their shit, I just turned around to look at the video game booth behind me. Berryz girls looked so shocked and sad to see us getting herded off, and started to wave. By the time the screaming stopped, turned around to see the girls already leaving since all the fans got shooed off.
By the time I got into the room for the concert, people with the premium passes were already in there. Was about to go find Ping and Ezra to get into the press area but the One Two Three started playing, and my excitement just exploded. After the song ended, finally calmed down enough to carry on. Got to the area in front of the barriers and told we were free to take pics for the first 3 songs and to leave during the first MC. After 2 songs, MC started and we left the front area. At that moment, realized that I gave up a good view for the concert in return for the press photos. D'OH. I had 2 other people to take pics for me.
Went to the side where press seats were marked. Was told that we could stand on the chairs so I did. Then after one song, tall fat asshole staff comes back AGAIN and tells us to get down. Had to worm my way through non-wota crowds to get to a decent spot in the concert hall/to my friends. ENJOYed the rest.
Here's the setlist, btw. Courtesy of Jen V.

Girls Times

After the concert, started joining in on the Riot for a bit before realizing "Hey! I have a backstage pass!!"
Went to go find my other backstage buddies and exchanged contact info with staff to get our pics mailed to us. Sat around and waited a couple minutes before they brought us to the back. Realized I didn't bring any goods with me to get signed, but Ric ever so kindly gave me one of his photosets to get signed. They started to let us into the back mini-room one by one. Photo op came first. Each of us got 2 pics with the girls. First one I did was the JPH!P handsign. Second was a normal peace sign.
Sat down again and watched everyone else get their pics taken. Then we got up one by one for our signings. Right before my turn, the girl next to me asked if she sould get part of her cosplay signed, since she didn't have any merch either. And since they said yes, I made a split second decision to get my overshoulder bag (that i take with me everywhere i travel) signed instead.
Once I got in front of them, I asked Chii if they could write my name on it, and she said sure before asking me how to spell it. (Btw, had to do this in my half-assed Japanese bc Yaz was busy atm. LOL quite a nerve-wracking learning experience) Chii asked me who I wanted to write my name and I pointed at her rather enthusiastically before a staff member gave me a paper and sharpie to write my name down. Then the other girls started talking to me when others were signing, namely Captain, Momo, and Chii, since they already signed and they were gonna write my name at the end. Girls complimented my Japanese, and started OOOing when I told them I learned it all from watching TV. Chatted with them about other stuff, incl going to Japan this fall, etc etc. Was surprisingly calm after entering the room and taking the pics though. After saying bye, me, Ric and Eric practically skipped out of the concert hall in a 3-way hug. Met up with our friends before heading back to the hotel's bar for an after concert party to end my day.

Saturday:
Woke up and fretted for half an hour about what to wear since I had the interview that day. Finally left the hotel to temporarily join in on the Q&A/autographs line to hang out with people. Got some of my interview questions reviewed and fixed from numerous friends. Started getting really nervous and sort of sick feeling while heading over to teh interview place. Once we got there, were met with Philippe and other Berryz staffs. Tested our equipment while Bryan was inside doing his interview. Finally got inside after a while of growing nervousness. When we got inside, the first one the girls saw was me. And unexpectedly, the first thing I heard was "Ah! S******-san!"
She frikking remembered my name.
And I didn't even say it out for her the night before. I only spelled it out letter by letter. Which means she remembered my name and read it out herself?!?!? *EXPLODES*
Anyways, waved at the girls and greeted them. We were trying to set up the equipment and cord layout when I had to turn around, and my signed bag flashed in front of them, and Miya pointed it out to the rest, who seemed pretty happy that I was wearing it(?). (Althought to be honest, I wanted to seal it up and not use it after it got signed but I didn't have anything else to carry my stuff around the rest of the weekend. Finally set up and got the interview under way. Risako was less than  foot in front of me, and I kept playing this game of 'make eye contact with a member to see who loses and starts grinning first'. LOL. Did that with Miya a bunch since she was the 2nd closest from me and we kept making eye contact. It's more funny now that I think back on it hahaha
After the interview ended, we got up to leave before Miya and Momo(? Was it Momo?) got up and said "Stop! Stop!" while holding up their hands. "Purezento! Purezento!"
I had gotten so caught up and excited by the interview alone that I forgot we were to get some surprise gifts. Got a signed and addressed picture, as well as a limited version of their 8th album, handed directly to me by Chinami, who told me to listen to it. I just grinned and told her that I already have but will def listen again. More small talk as we wrapped up the stuff to leave, and finally waving to them as we left the room.

Went back to the hotel to drop off equipment and share the interview files b/t the 3 of us. Afterwards, went back into the big room to get our press seats in the front for Q&A.
Waved to the girls as they entered. Got pointed at by Maasa before she whispered to Capn about something. Enjoyed watching the Q&A and seeing numerous friends get to go up and give their presents to the girls. Afterwards, decided to forgo my autograph bracelet thingy since I already had 2 things signed and wanted to give people with nothing more time with the girls. So we just sat in the front row and watched for an hour. Only then did it really hit me how excruciatingly tiring it can be to be an idol. These girls were signing things and smiling at their fans with all the energy in them for over an hour while I was just sitting down quietly with the energy slowly seeping out of me. Every once in a while, there would be a break in the line, and the girls would look past the gap at us and wave some more. EXCEPT Momoko. Some people son't realize it but this girl really really REALLY works hard as an idol. Even when there was nobody in front of her to sign, she would look up at the person in front of Captain and start beaming at them. What a pro.
After that was the raffle for the signed banner. For some reason, they didn't have mics up there and had to scream. LOL. Was really happy to see one of the Japanese wotas I met the year before win the banner! Afterwards, went outside with the group before heading to dinner.
And after that...
HELLO!PARTY 3!!!!!!!!!!!
Was so damn awesome and fun I don't even know where to start. I forgot to ask Bryan and Jen on the reason later, but for some reason, Yaz & some of the Berryz staff were there for the beginning of the party. Unfortunately, they left before the funnest part of dance + wotagei. But then again, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be doing the wotagei to Romantic Ukare Mode in front of UFA personnel
Had a bunch of fun at the party just talking to everyone, and trying (in vain) to speak with the Japanese fans. (I can speak to the idols just fine, but for some reason have a hard time grasping Japanese when talking to the fans LOL)

Sunday:
Got up super early to head back into NY to return the rental car. Walked around China town and got lunch before meeting up with part of the gang at Kinokuniya. Found a bunch of magazines and photobooks that I was originally going to buy online. Spent over $80 on 2 PBs and 2 magazines. Then headed over to karaoke at Duet35. Had an incredible 5 hours of fun with everyone, despite losing half the range in my voice from all the craziness over the weekend. After that, we made a Berryz Psychos train into the subway and over to dinner at a Thai place. Good food + great company + live Hello!Ranking made for a wonderful time!
But then comes the sad part of leaving. Luckily I was part of the first group to break off so I didn't have to go through the pain of watching the group get smaller and smaller. Was still in a pretty foul/exhausted mood on the way back to get the car to head back to NJ though.

Monday:
Sent my good friend off at the airport before going back to NY and heading off myself

Wow, that was supposed to be a SHORT summary. What happened? lol

Also, dammit, WRITERJUNKIE was there and I didn't get to meet one of my favorite writers ever!??!!?

HELLO!PARTY 3!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! Thanks again to everybody who came!

Just to clarify, Yaz and the Frenchman were there to talk about Up-Front Link at intermission. Unfortunately, because of the domino effect of lateness caused by AnimeNEXT's placing of a panel in our setup time slot, intermission was pushed farther back than we anticipated. As you probably already know, Yaz was pretty exhausted so she left early. Philippe couldn't stay until intermission either.

@HashirePomeranian- Wow, you had a long day! O.O But you also had more interaction with Berryz, being that you won that backstage pass and got to interview them. I'm sure the early mornings(waking up at 5am) was worth it. Even though the convention itself was terrible with organization, I had fun speaking with the Berryz fans.

 I didn't expect that at the end of the post. Ah I'm a bit embarrassed! XD I'm glad to know I have another fan though. I actually met a fan of my fics too while I was there. I'm sorry that I didn't see you as well. I always did come a little late to the line ups and after that I wouldn't move from my spot. XD It's odd too because I was mostly around Rokun, so if you had spotted him I was mostly near by, except in the early morning because I came to line up at like 10am usually. And Rokun had said he met you too. lol We can meet next time though!

Ohhhhh THAT's what it was about! Damn, too bad the party got pushed back so much.

Now I'm wondering if I DID meet you...or at least see you? Because I was around Rokun every once in a while...hmmmmmmmmm...
