If thats all it takes, then I've wasted 2 years waiting to get a BA

, I myself am a TESOL graduate

, but Korea does require a BA degree, same with Japan.
How do I know

: A friend of mine, went to Korea with just his TESOL certificate, he got away teaching with just that for a few months. Then the police caught him and asked him for proper identification and documents to prove he was in the country legally. But, he didn't have a BA degree to show them and that was a requirement.
As a result, he got thrown in a Korean Jail cell for 2 days, until his folks flew from Canada to Korea, just to bail him out. he was then asked to leave Korea and not return again

.
So, I suggest you have a BA before you go, a TESOL certificate is not enough.
