Finally wrapped up Manami's TV movie from last month Itsudatsu, only 95 minutes but with hitting pause all the time when you-know-who was on the screen took two days to watch,

she just looked too good.

Manami is still on vacation in Okinawa but she made a big announcement today on her blog that she's retiring from her acting career and is finally going to fulfill her lifetime dream of being a ヤンキー.

Actually just found out a bit of news about the movie:

Tobe! Dakota is a Japanese movie directed by Seiji Aburatani, it was originally slated for release in September 2012 but has been delayed to 2013 in order to film a few additional scenes over the winter. According to a blog post by actress Manami Higa, filming finally resumed on Sado Island in late January 2013.

The film is based on the true story of a British military plane forced to make an emergency landing on Niigata’s Sado Island in January of 1946.

Due to propaganda from the war, the residents are extremely wary of British military personnel. However, their spirit of compassion eventually takes over as an innkeeper’s daughter named Chiyoko (Manami Higa) takes five of the men in as guests and attempts to make them feel at home.

Think Manami's Tokyo Sky Story is going to have some special screenings starting on May 23rd with it being officially released in June.
