Reina's starting a band!

Auditions start 17 June, lasting 4 weeks. Targets are female vocalists and female guitarists! Guitarists who can do vocals or backup chorus also welcome! Age range is 15-22, as of April 1st!

The band is a side project for Reina, who will continue her activities in Morning Musume at the same time.

My thoughts: Yup, they're prepping her for a post-Musume career. Reina has always been more interested in singing than the most dance-intensive style Momusu has started into since Ai took leadership, so this sort of thing should suit her well. Hoping that this project really takes off, so we'll get to see more of her even after she graduates.

It was what Tsunku wanted to do fourteen years ago in the very first place!

Never thought about it before.
But the idea of Reina forming a band sounds so right. You'know, like "it was going to naturally occur like the sun rising" right.

Does anyone else think this is a perfect opportunity for the ZYX -> W -> V-U-den -> TSR? pattern to finally continue?
The R could be for Reina!
Or if they go TSRQ, "Rock" spelled with a "Q"?

Woahh

I wonder if the band will be a part of H!P- joining in with big concerts and stuff... I could see it not being tied that much with H!P though.
I think this will suit her really well, especially as she gets older and has graduated. I could even picture her rocking a Visual or Oshare Kei look!!

While I would love to see an H!P rock band, I don't think Reina's voice fits with the rock theme. Unless they're going for a soft rock-pop style which would be more suitable for her voice.
I've always thought it's a pity that she hasn't a stronger voice because she's almost always spot on when singing, both technique and expression-wise. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Though excited, that was the first thought which occurred to me as well. Reina's image and her voice don't shout "rock" to me.

Anyway, I'm sure it'll turn out to be great. Proper musicians and live music are always interesting.

Applications are being taken again for vocalists! Submission deadline is September 2nd, with auditions taking place mid-September; the 15-22 age requirement remains the same.

Apparently the guitarist search is in the process of finalization, but while there were many talented singers, none of them had a suitable "image" for performing with Reina, so those auditions are starting over!
