Setting : AU where everything supernatural is normal. And everything normal is well, normal still. Of course there's gonna be vamps and werewolves, among other stuff. Doesn't necessarily have to follow the usual stereotypes for certain beings. Makes things more interesting no?
Not sure where this is headed, I've been tempted to try this for a while now. So I thought, meh, why not? Note that I'm new at writing fanfiction though. Oh, I'll most probably refer to the 48 family using their Majisuka aliases. Unless I feel it's better to use their real names or when there's a lack of nick names.
PROLOGUE
The full moon illuminates an otherwise dark night. Two figures approach the edge of the woods. The younger of the two looks around nervously. She's never been to this side of the forest before, despite it surrounding the town they lived in. After all, they're in an area off limits to their kind. It's a good thing that her senpai is skilled enough to keep them from being detected from the grunts. Among the backdrop of sounds made by nocturnal animals, the taller figure wearing a black and white jacket over her seifuku addressed her companion.
"Peace, stop fidgeting. You'll be fine if you keep quiet and do whatever I tell you to."
The kouhai snapped at attention.
"Hai, senpai!"
"I was told specifically to bring you along, so pay attention and use this opportunity to learn more about them."
"Wakarimashita, Black-senpai!"
"Ssshhh! They've noticed us."
True enough, a howl pierced the night. All was still. Until a series of howls answered the first. The rustling of vegetation, growls, pants and pounding of padded paws reached in mere seconds. There was movement just behind the trees in front of the duo. A girl wearing the same seifuku(although modified) stepped out, followed by 5 others.
"Well, well, well. What is a vampire with your rank doing here Black-san? And only with a greenhorn to accompany you..." The speaker smirked, but none of them let down their guard. The vampires were in enemy territory, but Black wasn't highly ranked for nothing.
"Maeda-san was it? I have a last minute message from the president." Black was the epitome of calm.
"Then I'll happily deliver it for you."
Black shook her head.
"Ie, I'll deliver it myself. Just take us to your den."
"And what makes you think we'd trust a couple of..."
"Mayuge!" From behind the trees emerged a tall girl with short hair.
"S..Sado-senpai!" Maeda Ami was surprised to see her Beta appear.
Never taking her eyes off the vampires, she said.
"Let them meet our Alpha, it's official business after all."
"But!" Mayuge's protest was cut short.
"Daijoubu, they're not stupid enough to try anything rash. Are you, Black-san?" Sado directed her last sentence to the senior vampire.
"We're just here on behalf of our president." Black reassured.
Sado smirked and glanced back before transforming,
"Try to keep up." The werewolves followed their Beta. Once transformed, they looked like regular wolves, albeit with different coloured fur, and that they were huge enough to meet Black at chest level. Each werewolf has different fur colour and markings. Their size also varied according to their strength, but there usually isn't that much of a difference.
The werewolves took off, with the vampires trailing behind them. Black, being known for her speed even among the fastest of vampires, had no problem keeping track of her guides. Whereas poor Peace, being newly turned and all, had yet to fully uncover her full potential. She was lagging behind Black, just managing to keep a visual on her senpai. Deeper in the woods, more werewolves joined their company. They just leap, seemingly out of nowhere, and join their run to the den.
Finally, they arrived. Despite it being called a den, it was actually a huge mansion, set in the middle of a clearing where werewolves lounging lazily perked up at the new arrivals. Sado and her team turned back into human form.Tension filled the air as Black and Peace were escorted into the mansion. Once inside, they were led up a grand staircase and to the receiving room. The entire mansion is huge enough to house all werewolves in that particular pack and still has more room to left to spare.
Nodding to the guards, Sado pushed open the heavy floor to ceiling oak doors with ease. She led the group down the walkway of a sprawling chamber. The build of the room is almost exactly like what you'd see in a medieval movie, but with modern furnishings.
Sado continued down the walkway to whisper into her Alpha's ear and took her place standing beside the strongest member of her pack. The vampires stopped a respectful distance from the alpha sitting in a lavish chair that could only be described as a throne. The other werewolves stayed further behind, ready to spring into action when needed.
Peace gulped and stood a little behind her senpai. She had never been so near to the Alpha before. She had only ever seen her from afar. Black gave a nod in greeting.
"The President sends her regards to the Alpha werewolf of Majijo."
"Uh huh, I doubt she sent you here just to say hi, Black-san." The Alpha smirked and leaned her chin on her hand.
"Believe it or not, she did, Takayanagi-san. Along with the notice that there will be a meeting tomorrow at 10 a.m."
"Sending one of her vamps out just for a meeting notice? Couldn't she have just called my mobile? I mean seriously, what era are you vamps living in...."
"I'm not done yet. These are the documents for whatever it is you discussed before." Black took out a brown folder from within her jacket, and passed it to Sado, who came forward to retrieve it.
"Why, thank you for delivering it to me, Black-san. Now, if there is nothing else, I suggest you be on your way." Akane smirked and motioned for Mayuge to lead them out. Black gave a nod in return, and left the grounds much like how they first entered. Once they reached the outskirts of the woods, the werewolves turned into their 2-legged forms again and escorted them until they reached the boundary.
"Just because we let you in our den, doesn't mean you're welcome here." Mayuge threatened.
Black scoffed. "You speak as if I could stand the stench of you mutts." The formalities over with(for the moment anyway) Black saw no reason why she should tolerate the wolves.
"What was that?!" The werewolves bristled. Before things escalated, a howl sounded in the air.
"Tch...that's Sado. Our shift is over, the next patrol team is waiting for us to switch with them. This isn't over, Black." Said girl just glared back, while Peace sighed with relief. With that, the werewolves transformed and returned to their den.
"Whew! That was close...." Peace said.
"Do not show them fear, we are representing the President after all."
"Hai.... Gomenasai, senpai." Peace felt disappointed that she let her senpai down.
Noticing this, Black sighed. Fresh as she was, her heart is in the right place.
"Don't dwell on it. You're still getting used to things around here, so it's normal to feel intimidated. You'll grow stronger if you work hard. Now let's go. The President is waiting for us." Black walked off, heading home.
"Hai!" Peace perked up immediately. Though often treating others coldly, Black was kind at heart. She happily followed her senpai home, smiling all the way.
A/N : So, what do you think?
