Hello again.
well... yeah... it seems like a dark-themed fic to me too. Athough, I'd like to think that it won't be... hopefully.

There's a call for Mayuki pairing... I won't promise anything but I'll try my best.

I'm still organizing my ideas and characters.

well then... here's chapter 1... I'm not really confident with this chapter. -sigh-
Chapter 1: Assassins?“Another easy target...” A hooded figure murmured and grinned slyly, pointing an L115A3 Artic Warfare Magnum Sniper Rifle at the Casino entrance.
“This is boring…” another figure voiced out. “Rifles are boring.”
The hooded figure turns to look at its acquaintance, who was lazily leaning by the wall of their hotel room.
“I never expect you to appreciate the use of rifles. After all you’d rather kill your target in the most brutal way that you could think of… besides this baby *showing the rifle* can shot up to 1.4km from we are.” Returning to its previous position, focusing on the casino again, it added. “Also, I don’t like to put a face or clue to who we are… so even if they figured out what type of rifle I used, they have to search for every corner of this city, within 1.4km radius… but I doubt if they can even find a clue. I have this all planned out from the start… Those dim-witted police are nothing.”
“They are dumb and weak. They are boring too.” The figure by the wall said and begins to bite its nail. “Ne?... Would you let me play later?”
“Hmm… After this target, we are asked to eliminate a Yakuza group. It seems they have been causing way too much trouble for their own good. I already gathered some information about them and luckily they’re having a meeting later. You can do anything you want with them. Just wait for about 60 seconds more and I’m done.” The sniper replied.
The sniper started a 60 seconds countdown, when a black Mercedes-Benz stopped in front of the casino. A respectable-looking man of mid to late forties got out of the car and was greeted by some casino management staffs.
“3... 2... 1... Bye bye~” the sniper grinned and pulled the trigger, shooting the man’s head, the one who just recently got out of the car. Not minding the panicked commotion in front of the casino (which almost a kilometre away from their hotel btw), the sniper stands up and disassembles the rifle. “Let’s go.”
The other one smiled and stretched a bit. “Finally!” Then the two silently walked out of the room.
-COFFEE SHOP-“An assassination of a politician and massacre of a yakuza group... and it happened in just one night?” a short ponytailed female exclaimed after reading the news article.
“Well... that same politician was said to be corrupt…” her friend noted. “And those Yakuza had been stirring up troubles here and there anyway...”
“Don’t say that!” The ponytailed female reprimanded her friend. “Mii-chan! They’re still humans… although bad… and deserve to die.”
“See my point Ta-ka-mi-na” Mii-chan replied. “You said it yourself. ‘They deserve to die.’”
“Ugh… this conversation is against me…” Takamina groaned. “Where’s Yuko? She’s late.”
“Dunno…” Mii-chan begins eating her strawberry cake.
“That’s your third cake y’know.” Takamina said, sipping her coffee. “You’re going to get fat.”
“I don’t care.” Mii-chan replied.
“Takamidgeeeeeeet… Mii-chaaaaaaaaan…” Someone cried out, hugging the two female. “That freaking Superintendent is getting into my nerve!”
“Oho… Police Inspector Oshima…” Mii-chan grins. “It seems that you're having some difficult time.”
“And who are you calling TAKAMIDGET?!” Takamina pinched Yuko’s cheek. “You’re a midget too!”
“WHAT?! I’m still taller than you!!!” The other midget pinched Takamina’s cheeks.
Mii-chan sighs and orders another cake. “Oi… squabbling midgets… stop that.”
“DON’T CALL US MIDGET!!!” the two yelled.
“Fine… fine…” Mii-chan takes a bite of her precious cake. “So… why call us in here, Yuko?”
Yuko coughed. “Regarding that… you two heard about the assassination and massacre of a Yakuza group, right?” The two nodded. “We’re having trouble with our investigation. Mii-chan, you’re a former forensic expert, I need your help with examining the cause of death of the victims. And Takamidget… you know you’re way around police investigation right? Can you help with my team’s investigation?”
“We can.” Takamina replied. “And stop calling me Takamidget!”
“YES!!! THANK YOU TAKAMIDGET!!! MII-CHAN!!!” Yuko hugs them, handing them a piece of paper. “Sae’s in the Yakuza hide out, Takamina.” Then turns to Mii-chan. “Sayaka’s Forensic Laboratory… The one in the Metropolitan Hospital… I’m going now, have to report to that a**h***e of a Superintendent that I have.” The two watched Yuko frantically run out of the coffee shop and sighed.
“This is interesting…” Mii-chan smiled.
“Guess so… “ Takamina replied.
-METROPOLITAN HOSPITAL- ‘
Where’s that forensic lab?’ Mii-chan asked herself, loitering around the hospital lobby. She accidentally bumps into a walking doctor. “uh.. sorry.”
The black haired doctor fixed his glasses. “No… I’m sorry… I didn’t see you.” He looks at his wrist watch. ‘
I’m late.’ He thought. “You looked troubled? Can I help you?”
“Well… I’m kind of lost… do you know where’s the forensic lab?” Mii-chan asked.
“Forensic lab? Try the Acute Assessment Medical Department. It’s near the Emergency Department.” The doctor pointed out.
“Thanks a lot.” Mii-chan bowed and run towards the said department.
The doctor stared blankly at the running Mii-chan.
“Dr. Watanabe?”
The doctor turns toward the nurse. “Am I late?” he asked.
“No doctor.” The nurse blushed. “Uh... uhm… This way please… the director’s waiting for you.”
Dr. Watanabe nodded, looking briefing at the area where Mii-chan disappeared to before following the blushing nurse.
-FORENSIC LABORATORY-“Yo! Sayaka!” Mii-chan greeted. “Sorry I got lost.”
“It’s okay. By the way… they already took away the politician’s body.” Sayaka said. “Luckily we finished examining the body. Here.” Giving Mii-chan a folder, “I got you a copy of the result.”
“Thanks.” Mii-chan smiled, scanning through the said results. “A head Shot would really kill someone… but this headshot is well-calculated.” She commented.
“Well-calculated?” Sayaka asked.
Mii-chan shows the graphic image of the victims head shot. “The sniper shots the Parietal and Frontal Lobe of the victim’s brain. So, even if the victim survives, he would surely be brain dead.” She explained. “And about the Yakuza group?”
Sayaka shrugged. “It’s better if you see it yourself.” The police officer commented as she walks toward the other room of the lab.
“Eh?” Mii-chan followed. “What in the name of…” she started when she see the dead bodies, jaws falling.
“I know right. We’re still examining who’s who in the group and which body parts belong to who, you know.” Sayaka said, scratching her head. “It’s troublesome. Really.”
“Troublesome? THIS IS MORE THAN TROUBLESOME!” Mii-chan yelped, hiding her eyes. “This will give me nightmares… no… this will take away my precious beauty sleep!!!” looking at the pile of blooded bodies again. “Argh… I don’t think a human can do this… this is too brutal for a human…”
“Of course..” Sayaka added. “Can you rip an arm by yourself? You can’t right? But our killer can. There are blooded hand prints on the crime scene.”
Mii-chan turned around and cried, “Why did I agree on helping Yuko with this?” her asked. “This is disgusting.” Briefly looking at the bodies and hiding her eyes again.
Sayaka just patted Miichan’s head.
-YAKUZA HIDEOUT (AKA CRIME SCENE)-“Sae!! Hello!” Takamina waved at the tall Police Officer.
“Takamina!” Sae greeted back. “Want to see the crime scene?”
“Yes please.” Takamina nodded.
Sae talked to the other police officers and then turned to Takamina with thumbs up. The two walks toward a big traditional Japanese Mansion and entered the huge meeting hall. Sae gives Takamina a pair of disposal gloves and a face mask, while she wears her own mask and gloves. Upon entering the room, all they see was blood covering most of the walls and destroyed tables and stuffs.
“This is…” Takamina looked around. “…the crime scene? It seems like some gang war happened here!” she exclaimed.
“Yeah… Gang war without any weapons… only bare fist.” Sae sighed. “Look at those hand prints… we don’t know if they are from the victims or the killer.” She pointed.
Looking around some more, Takamina noticed something. “Sae… did you asked if they have a surveillance system?”
“Nope. Why?”
“They have one.” Takamina pointed at the ceiling located in the corner facing the sliding shouji doors. “I hope we can get a copy of the video of this incident.”
“Ok… wait here.” Sae walks out of the room.
Takamina surveyed the area for a while, looking at and through the destroyed stuffs around the room. ‘
It’s really a mess in here… and the destroyed furniture… something or someone use it as a weapon based on the blood trailing from it. They seem to be desperate.’ She sighed. ‘
It’s too silent. It’s creepy in here.’
“Takamina.” Sae appeared, tapping on her shoulder.
“Aaaaaah!!!” Takamina shouted jumping a meter away from Sae. “Don’t scare me!!!” she cried out. “Can’t you see we’re in a scary place already!!! I didn’t even notice you!!!”
“Sorry… Sorry… My bad, Takamina.” Sae laughed.
“It’s not funny!!!!!”
“Anyway… I got the recordings…” Sae smirked and walked out again.
Giving the room a final glance, Takamina shook her head and followed Sae. ‘
I wonder what really happened in that room.’
“Here.” Sae showed the laptop to Takamina and played the video.
--video recording--
Group of tough looking males are seated around the room, listening to the man in front, who seems to be their leader.
The lights inside the room flicker a bit as the group heard some creepy giggling sound. The group begun to look around the room, searching for the source of the giggling sound, but found nothing.-
Takamina's POV-
‘
What is this? Some kind of a horror movie?’ she thought while focusing on the recording.
Then recording black out and was replaced by a 20 minutes countdown.
“Sae!!! Saeeeeee!!!” Takamina said. “What this?” pointing at the screen.
“A countdown?” Sae replied, asking.
“I know it’s a countdown, idiot!!!” Takamina covered her face with her hands.
“I guess…” Sae started. “All that stuff happened within 20 minutes.”
“20 minutes?" Takamina frowned. “You can’t beat up that group of more than 20s in 20 minutes!!! I call that suicide!”
--back to the video recording--
3… 2.. 1.
The screen lit up again.
Blood covered the room… dead bodies, ripped arms/legs/heads everywhere.
Two figures standing by the sliding shouji door.
One of them lazily throws away a ripped arm to the pile of dead bodies, giggling while walking casually out of the crime scene.
The other one followed, closing the door like nothing happened.
--video recording end--
Sae and Takamina just stared at the screen, shocked at what they had witness or rather what the spy camera had recorded.
“That’s…” Takamina gulped.
“Brutal.” Sae added.
“I think ‘Barbaric’ best fit the scene.” Takamina said. Then, an awkward silence took over them as they stared at the paused scene of the two unknown figures.
so there... hope you guys like... I feel like I missed something in this chapter...
