JuriMari: Perfect
Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived in an orphanage. She was a bright young one with a heart filled with joy. Despite being alone most of the time she manages to hold onto the little happiness she was given. The girl plays with all her friends in the orphanage and enjoys being with them everyday. However as time goes by, the her friends slowly leave one by one. They are lucky and get adopted while Jurina is still left behind. Jurina is not like the rest of the kids. She's rambunctious and wild and something the other parents can't handle. Jurina is a problem child and because of that she has yet to be adopted. Eventually all her friends left and she had no one left. It was just her and the staff members of the orphanage. They try to cheer Jurina up saying that she'll find someone to take her but in their hearts they don't know if Jurina will be adopted or not. One night Jurina was sitting in her bed reading a book when she saw something outside her room.
"Wah a shooting star!"
The star was flying across the night sky lighting a path as it moved. Jurina closed her eyes and wished hard for the one thing she longed for the most. A family. After that Jurina fell asleep hoping that her wish would come true. The next day Jurina was playing out in the garden when one of the staff members called her over. She walked over and there standing at the door was a tall woman with short brown hair. She wore a white blouse and pink skirt and carried a small white purse. When Jurina walked over the woman saw Jurina and smiled. The head of the orphanage walked over and said,
"Jurina this is Mariko and she is looking for a daughter. She's come to take you home."
Jurina smiled brightly and hugged the woman's leg thanking her. Jurina packed her things and together the two left the orphanage once and for all. When they arrived at the house Jurina was surprised at how big the place was. Surely the woman who adopted her was someone with a lot of money. Jurina followed the woman up a spiral stair case up a where her room was. When she opened the door she couldn't believe at how beautifully decorated it was. There were all kinds of toys and dolls to play with and in the closet were all kinds of pretty clothing. The bed was as soft as a cloud and the wall was painted with cute animals on it. The room was something Jurina came to love and couldn't believe how lucky she was.
"Jurina come down stairs!" her new mother called.
"Coming!!" Jurina said.
She ran down the stairs and there in the kitchen was her mother who was setting the table for dinner.
"Jurina can you bring this plate over to the table for me?"
"Hai!"
Jurina grabbed the plate and started to walk towards the table but suddenly something caused her to twitch and spasm making the plate fly out of her hand. The plate fell onto the ground and broke into pieces. Her mother walked over and saw the mess and Jurina who was looking at her with sorry eyes. She looked like she was going to cry for she feared her new mother would send her back to the orphanage. Her mother walked over and looked down on Jurina. Jurina was expecting the worse but instead she knelt down to Jurina's level and patted her head. The confused Jurina looked at her and she only smiled and said,
"Accidents happen it's alright."
Her mother started to pick up the broken pieces but then suddenly dropped one and let out a small yelp. Jurina looked over and saw blood coming from her mother's finger.
"Are you ok mommy?!" Jurina said.
"Ah I'm fine. It's just a small scratch see?"
Her mother held up her finger and that's when Jurina took it and placed it in her mouth. She licked the blood clean and then pulled the finger out. Her mother smiled and thanked Jurina for the medical treatment and then put on a band aid. Once the mess was clean, the two sat at the table for one of the most delicious meals Jurina had ever eaten. She ate until she could eat no more and then after such a good meal Jurina felt really tired. Her mother picked her up and carried her up to her room where she tucked her into bed and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight Jurina." she said.
The next morning Jurina woke up and found the house empty. Her mother was no where in sight and Jurina started to get worried. She ran frantically searching every room for her mother but her mother was nowhere in sight. Jurina started to cry thinking that her mother had left her alone. However suddenly the door opened and her mother came in carrying a bag. Jurina saw this and quickly ran over hugging her mother tightly.
"I thought you left me! I thought mommy left me!"
"Mah mah Jurina I only went to the store. I'm sorry I worried you. Come here."
Her mother picked her up and cradled her gently calming her down. Once Jurina stopped crying her mother carried her into the kitchen where she made breakfast.
"Jurina would you hand me that egg please?"
"Hai!"
Jurina grabbed an egg and was going to hand it over but then she had another spasm and the egg was thrown into the air. It went high and then landed right on her mother's head. Jurina couldn't help but giggle as she saw the egg yolk drip from her mother's head. Her mother wiped some of the egg out and said,
"I was gonna get in she shower anyways. You'll pay for that next time you little devil~"
The two had breakfast and then her mother went to get into the shower. When she came out she put on some very fancy clothes and told Jurina to go put on a nice dress as well. Jurina put on one of the white dresses with pink frills and bows on the chest. She put on some new shoes and then came out and saw her mother. Her mother was in a tight red dress with a black belt and high heels. Her mother was already tall but now she was super tall to Jurina. She put on some jewelry and at the same time the doorbell rang. Jurina ran to the front door and answered it where there was a woman standing at the door. When she saw Jurina she squealed and grabbed onto Jurina hugging her tightly.
"Mommy help!!" she cried.
Her mother came out and saw her friend and said,
"Miichan could you please let go of my daughter."
The woman let go and said,
"Mariko I didn't know you had a daughter!! She's so cute~"
The woman reached out and was about to grab Jurina again but Jurina quickly ran behind her mother and said,
"Don't touch me you Gachapin!"
"Oi what did you call me?!"
"Miichan cut it out. We're going to be late."
"Oh right let's go!"
Her mother took Jurina's hand and the two walked out to the front driveway where there was a fancy car waiting for them. They got in and the car took them to a huge building. They walked inside and Jurina saw all kinds of pretty women in amazing outfits. Jurina and her mother walked into a big studio where there were cameras and sets with different back grounds laid out. One looked like a modern house while another looked like it was outside. There was one that was full of stuffed animals and then one that looked like a beach. Jurina was told to sit in a chair and watch while her mother went to work. She sat there and waited and then soon saw her mother walk out in a beautiful black dress with heels and silver necklace. Jurina stared in amazement as she watched her mother walk out onto the set and pose in front of the cameraman.
"Wah mommy is so cool!"
"Your mother is Shinoda Mariko. Japan's top fashion model." Miichan said.
"A model?!"
Jurina couldn't believe her mother was a model. She had always seen them in magazines before and sometimes she would pretend to be one with her friends but now she was seeing an actual model. She watched her mother come out in all kinds of outfits and doing all kinds of poses. Jurina was curious and wanted to see what the pictures looked like so she walked over by the camera crew and stared at the images coming onto the screen. The pictures were amazing and Jurina wanted to see more of them. She grabbed a chair and stood on it to get a better view of the screen but then the cameraman yelled at her.
"Hey kid why don't you come over here yourself!"
"Eh?"
Jurina walked over and the cameraman handed Jurina his camera. He told her how to take a picture and so Jurina became a cameraman.
"Smile mommy!"
Her mother smiled and Jurina took all kinds of pretty pictures of her mother in all kinds of outfits. Then the cameraman said,
"Alright kid now it's your turn."
Little did Jurina know, now it was her turn to be a model. She went back stage with her mother where the makeup artists did her make up and hair. They gave her and outfit to put on and when it was all ready she walked out on to the set where her mother smiled and said,
"Jurina you look adorable! Now smile for the camera just like mommy!"
"Hai!!"
Jurina smiled and did poses just like her mother did and the cameraman loved it. She held onto stuffed animals to give it a cuter look and played with some toys. Then they cameraman had her mother come in and they took photos together. They played with games and made silly faces. Jurina made her mother laugh like crazy with some of the faces she made. Then around lunch time Jurina and her mother sat down to eat. They had a small lunch and then after it was almost time to go for the two. They finished up the last couple of shots and then the day was done.
"Hey you were great kid! Come again next time."
"Come one Jurina let's go get some ice cream."
"Ok mommy!"
The two went to a small ice cream shop where they enjoyed the sweet treat. Then they went home and ate another fantastic dinner made by her mother. After dinner Jurina and her mother played all kinds of games and little by little Jurina learned more about her mother. She could play the piano like an expert and drew like and artist. She could sing like an angel and could dance like she was in a pro group. Jurina's mother was something someone would call perfect. It was around bed time but Jurina didn't want to sleep. Her mother kept on insisting that she went to bed but Jurina refused and said she wanted to play more.
"I wanna play more with mommy!" Jurina said.
"But Jurina mommy is tired and needs her sleep." her mother said.
"I wanna play with mommy!"
"Jurina you need to go to bed right now!"
"No!"
Jurina started to run but her mother caught her and held her close.
"You're going to bed!"
"Yada yada!"
Jurina fought and fought but eventually gave in and let her mother go to bed. She tucked her in and was about to lean in to kiss her forehead but then Jurina had a spasm and ended up hitting her mother.
"Jurina!"
Jurina realized what she had done and tried to apologize but her mother ran off to stop the pain. She came back in with an ice pack on her cheek and an angry look on her face. Jurina said she was sorry but her mother was silent. It was then Jurina started to cry feeling awful for what she had done and knew she was going to be sent back now. However her mother reached out and pulled Jurina in for a hug.
"There there it's ok. It was just an accident it's ok." she said.
"B-But I hit you! It hurt didn't it?" Jurina said.
"No it's fine~ You're pretty weak so it's nothing."
"I am not weak!"
Jurina pouted and her mother wiped away her tears.
"It's ok Jurina really." her mother said.
"I'm sorry for not being perfect like mommy..." Jurina said.
"Hey I'm not perfect."
"Yes you are! You can sing and dance and play music and draw.. You're perfect!"
"Jurina no one is perfect."
"Eh?"
"Look."
Her mother took Jurina's hand and placed it on her head. She moved it around until Jurina felt a small bump on her head. Jurina looked at her mother and asked,
"Mommy what is that?"
"That is a tumor. I have cancer Jurina which is an illness that kills thousands of people everyday."
"Mommy is going to die!!!!"
"No no Jurina but as mommy gets older she's going to start forgetting things. She may even forget you."
"No mommy don't forget me!"
"Haha it's ok Jurina. As long as you are by my side everyday I'm sure I won't forget you. Just remember though Jurina. No one is perfect. Not even someone like me."
The two hugged and made up and from that moment on, Jurina started to learn more about the world. That nothing is perfect and those who say they are don't know anything about life. Later on she learned that her spasms were caused by an illness in the brain. There was no known cure for it so Jurina had to live with it. However despite all that Jurina had everything else. She had a nice home and a nice life and a loving mother. Overall Jurina thought that her life was perfect.
