^No G+ or blog posts from Rena either. Maybe she wasn't feeling well and decided to rest, so she'll be able to perform Kareha no Station tomorrow...

Let's hear some top 3 predictions for bragging rights!

Does anyone know why Rena and Sayaka weren't at the concert today?

I've heard Sayaka is sick, she tweeted her medicines pic last night, don't know about Rena

Mayuki's Temo Demo pairing was great. Definitely rivals the original.

Oh. And unlike most other songs, it actually jumped up 11 spots from last year. :D

After today's flawless performance, it may jump another 11 spots next year

Anyway, Day 3 is the most enjoyable for me so far. Seeing Mayuyu perform right from the get-go in Oogoe Diamond was a great start compared to Day 2 when she was nowhere to be found until Yuuhi wo Miteiru ka. Following that, there was the hilarious Miichan-Yukirin-Sasshi MC. That was the start of a series of MaYuki moments. Yukirin couldn't help remarking that Mayuyu's paper cup (and the owner) was cute. Then she was so anxious over Mayuyu's defiled cup that she quickly wrote 'Mayuyu' on a new one. Poor Sasshi though. No one cared about her cup being thrown  Last but not least, that Temo Demo performance simply blew my mind! So perfect. It overtook the MayuJuri version as my favourite

Other highlights:
- Sayanee singing and playing the guitar live
- Lots of Takamina songs. TAKAHASHI JAPAN IS REAL!
- THAT Acchan. Kudos to the mad directing and vision mixing skills. Totally had me fooled for the first half of the song. I seriously thought she came back  Poor Takamina had to sing the song alone
- Sore wo Seishun to yobu hi by the graduating SKE48 members. Such a beautiful song. The girls looked stunning :thumbup

Saw this on mahoushoujoari@tumblr:

Yuasa Hiroshi’s Google+ Update 26/01/2013

I’m really sorry to inform you that today, due to poor physical condition, Matsui Rena couldn’t take part in the concert.

Tomorrow she’ll go to the hospital to do medical examinations once again and we’ll ask the doctor if it will be okay for her to perform.
Of course she wants to, but we won’t allow her to overdo herself, so I hope you’ll be so kind to understand.

I was surprised Candy and Oogoe Diamon ranked so low :O
I guess how new the song is plays a pretty big role, but that
Oogoe Diamond had all the girls with high pitched voices and sounded kind of weird  :nervous

Sadly, I fell asleep while watching it  :banghead:

I agree that the MaYuki TemoDemo was really good, but the highlights of day 3 for me were Jungle Gym and Warukii.

There's a lot of really good NMB48 songs that haven't shown up yet, so I'm hoping for about 5 NMB songs to show up in the top 25.

Although, the way things have gone in past years, I wouldn't be surprised if all the NMB fans voted for Mussou Girlfriend and it ends up as number 1.

Damn, this is so not lucky of me. Most of my favorite songs have all been played in the previous 3 days and I'm only able to watch the last day since I went through some blue screens these past 3 days.

I wonder why singles dropped so bad like that, especially ones such as Flying Get & Kaze wa Fuiteiru. Is it possible the fans now favor latest singles than the past ones? I personally think that all 2011 singles and GM5 should be performed on the last day lol.

Nevertheless, it isn't that bad at all. I still got songs I love on the last day : "Naki nagara hohoen de", "First Rabbit", "UZA", "Gingham Check", "Yume no Kawa" etc, it's all performed nicely.

-) Yuko performs "Naki nagara hohoen de" beautifully. Her look and facial expression are the things I love most, it simply makes her appearance so damn lovely.
-) Acchan is only featured through archival footage yet the song is still performed beautifully as if Acchan is really there. Love Takamina's emotional look at the end, reminds me of AtsuMina.
-) Shocked at "Heavy Rotation" not being ranked #1. But needless to say, still a great performance. It's so rich, makes it consistently entertaining to watch.
-) From being not included last year, "Ue Kara Mariko" shot to #3! Great! One of my favorite songs of 2011. Love Mariko-sama! She performs as if she owns the stage!

Biggest impact for me was

#5 Mushi no Ballad (Sayaka)
#3 Ue Kara Mariko  (Mariko et al)
#2 Kiseki wa Maniawanai (Sae, Jurina, Misato)
#1 Hashire! Penguin (Team 4)

#5- a beautiful ballad, and Sayaka's honest thanks to everyone for pushing the song so high. She is truly a talented and beautiful young woman.
#3- a wonderfully constructed song, and Mariko, with a blend of veterans, middle experience, and newbies created a truly unforgettable PV, and still one of the most enjoyable songs to listen to in the AKB48 repetoire
#2-a wondeful moment when you first hear Sae's voice at the beginning- this song is about her, but she is ably supported by Jurina and Misato, who also deserve a lot of credit in creating a very magical performance tonight
#1- I barely knew this song, but when it dawns on me that this is a nostalic 'reunion' of team 4, it is a very impressive statement of how much team 4 has impacted the history of the AKB48 family- most of the girls ended up in tears in the after chat session, led by Haruka Shimada, who cried magnificently.

Two other memorable scenes-

1) Hiroshi Yuasa- was up for manager of AKB48, but as he was the only manager who got a negative vote from the YouTube voters, he had to take a position of trainee/assistant to Tomonobu Togasaki. He stood up on the stage, in what had to be a difficult moment, but showed no signs of distress, and accepted his position. I guess it is interesting that the managers had to go through the same gut wrenching feelings as the girls do during their votes, but still Yuasa san was only one who received a negative overall vote. Hope this can be turned into a more positve story in the future.

2) Mayumi Natsu sensei- the woman who has caused  idols from Hello!Project and AKB48 to shed enough tears to fill a large dam, was there tonight to honor Sae, but as the moments continued, a lot of girls were unleashing torrents of tears. Not out of abject horror or fear, but from the realization of how much Natsu sensei wants the girls to be successful, even if she temporarily has to be rather strict with them.

Anyway great show tonight, lots of great moments!

ADDENDUMS:
1 -Forgot to mention the NMB48 a cappella version of their first single "Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shōjo" with their teacher (have to look up his name)- Fantastic job!  :cow:
2- Yes the animal costumes for Hebirote (thank you for reminding me +u+u san!)- Yuki has the second longest torso in the world of mammals, with only one other mammal having a longer torso

3- seeing Akicha and Haruka at the concert and speaking a bit of Indonesian
4- Kumi and Yuria performing Okami no Pride
5- Akicha leading Kimi no Koto ga Suki Dakara

I felt it was really boring before where singles got all the top spots. So it was nice to have so many theater solo's/mini-groups hit top 25 this year.
They're all votes of confidence for how much each member has contributed to the group in the past years.
On the other hand, some parts of day 4 (coughmcsegments) felt so boring and awkward I wanted to smash my head into a wall. :sweatdrop:
How those penguins got #1 is beyond me. I just think there are some songs that deserve it more. But I guess it's more about fans' hopes for the new-gen, so it's ok. :k-wink:

On a lighter note. NMB a cappella was surprisingly nice.
And sure glad to see Rena show up and perform. Hope she gets well soon.
