C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).

Playstation controller. It's precise and you can access all buttons without having to move your hand at all.

C14. Favorite online game/MMO.
IS ANYONE SURPRISED?

THE LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE.

Even if it makes me swear in capslock in the chat sometimes, mostly when I'm trying to do an instance solo with my hunter.

The world is incredible, sure it's not 100% faithful to Tolkien but they've really done their best at balancing the lore and creating a game that's fun to play. I started playing because I wanted to feel like a part of the world and I've been well satisfied.

I love having my own character in the world helping people out and functioning as a DIVERSION. Makes me feel important.

Love that there are different classes to play, too, since I can suffer from the getting-bored syndrome.

Some people have said the game has made it an interesting experience to re-read the books as well, and I'd like to try that some time. For instance, a place that might only be mentioned in the book will be familiar to you from the game because you've done questing there, and you get a warm fuzzy feeling once you recognize the name. LOL It's not only a name anymore.

BUT YEAH WHATEVER. Lotro is still a lot of fun to me. I really hope the game stays up all the way until Mordor 8)

C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?

Dante from Devil May Cry cause he's always down to party. Tifa from FFVII for some eye candy. And HK-47 from Star Wars : Knights Of The Old Republic because he doesn't give a fuck about lines and will gladly stomp over some people to get ahead.

C6. Favorite control method (360 pad, mouse + keyboard, Wiimote, etc).

I do like the 360 pad, it's comfortable and the triggers feel just about perfect for first person shooters. I did like the Dreamcast controller as well, and the VMU was cool as well with the stuff you could do with it for games like Sonic Adventure

Atari Lynx! Handheld in color long before Nintendo's Gameboy was in color! Had some good games too  :thumbup

C7. A game console that didn't last long enough.

For me it's the Dreamcast. I guess because I got it at the time it was already coming to an end and the PS2 was reigning supreme. When I got it for Christmas I didn't know the first thing about it and was kind of hoping for a PS2 instead XD But sure enough I played games like Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Metropolis Street Racer and Skies of Arcadia. And it became one of my favourite consoles ever.

C8. A videogame song that makes you want to dance.

Ya know RE: game consoles that don't last enough, is that the best time to buy a console for cheap, when its time is about to be over? I remember the best time to buy Sims 2 EPs was when Sims 3 had just come out and all the shops were trying to get rid of their Sims 2 stocks. So I was wondering if it's the same thing for consoles with both the games and the console itself dropping in price. Is the right time to buy, for instance, PS3, the moment when the next gen is about to come out, or has just come out?

Not really considering buying anything seriously, but if I was, I'd imagine it would be good to know LOL.

I guess so. The same logic would apply if they wanted to shift stock. I guess the one thing that you, the consumer, will need to take into consideration is the fact that a new console will mean a shift in focus from developers and the players themselves. So if you wanted to try out multiplayer, you might not be able to because the gamers are with their shiny new console. But then if you're focused on single player only, then there's no real issue.

C9. Favorite screencap from any game.

Perfectly sums up Shadow of the Colossus.

C12. Your crossover game (Kingdom Hearts, Dissidia)

Dissidia Duodecim. For a spin off game, it's got a ridiculous amount of content and fan service for FF fans. I still technically haven't beaten the game and yet I've put in 174 hours into it. It's insane. On top of that, it's a good game, it plays unlike anything else out there and you can create some wonderfully epic moments. Such like the matches that I've been uploading and sharing in the FF topic!

C13. Favorite videogame soundtrack.

For all the nostalgia that gets me anytime I heard it, and what the game means to me. It's gotta be Shenmue

C14. Favorite online game/MMO.

The only MMO I've ever played was Star Wars Galaxies. Those first few hours were ok, the sheer scale of the planets, of what you could or couldn't do..but then familiarity started to creep in with the same kind of quests on each planet. I eventually realised it was all going to be one endless grind. And this was at the time where the only way to unlock the Jedi class was to reach the highest level for every class. It just wasn't possible unless you devoted an unhealthy amount of time grinding out each character. Then on top of that, I was playing PVP against people who clearly had spent that amount of time. I just lost interest in that game and that sub-genre as a result.

Some of the best online experiences I've had was playing Call of Duty 4 at the time it was released. Playing it during my early Uni years, in the summer with and against my friends. Those were some good times.

C15. Least favorite videogame ever.

Myst. As I got older I thought I had been too harsh on it from when I first played it. I was 11, not interested in adventure/puzzle games in the slightest, so a few years ago I was curious and booted it up again to give it another chance. It didn't last long. Basically the game is a series of screenshots with a point and click mechanic, and you need to click everything on there to make sure you haven't missed any item to pick up or action to commit. But even then the 'puzzles' are notoriously difficult, so much so that you don't know if that lever you just switched does anything, or if it needs to be flipped in sequence, or even if it needs to be switced on at all. No music, graphics ugly, no story. I just gave up on it. The fact I played a point and click game on the PS1 didn't help either.

C17. Your favourite videogame moment.

I'm gonna cheat and say all the boss fights in the MGS. Actually the MGS games have a large portion of my favorite moments.

Freaked me out big time back in the day.

C18. Favorite videogame related movie.

I thought silent hill was well done.

C19. A music-related game (Guitar Hero, DDR, etc).

There were a couple PS2 games Harmonix did before Guitar Hero called Frequency and Amplitude that I really loved.

And Rez of course.

C20. Favorite Zelda game.

Link to the Past!

C21. Your favourite Final Fantasy game.

Personally FF12 is my favorite. I thought it was a step in the right direction for the series.

C22. Favorite car combat game.

Super Mario Kart and Burnout 3  :thumbsup

C23. Favorite Pokemon game.

Believe it or not I've never played a Pokemon game. :sweatdrop:

C24. Favorite Pokemon.

Gotta go with Missingno  :P

C25. Your favourite FPS and why.

Half Life 2 Ep: 2. IMO the most Immersive, well paced, varied and fun fps ever made by a long shot. Bioshock is up there too. Goldeneye for nostalgia purposes. ;D

C26. Game that you played longer than any other.

Hmmm hard to say. Minecraft has to be up there. XD

C17. Your favourite videogame moment.

They all seem to come from Bethesda games  I mention quite a few of them in the Elder Scrolls thread and in the Fallout thread if you're curious. For me though, I think the most memorable comes from Bastion. I daren't post a video because it would spoil a key scene in the story, but needless to say, when that moment happened, I'm not ashamed to admit I was feeling pretty emotional. I was so affected by watching the events unfold and no other game before or since has made me feel that way. Anyone who's played it might have an idea of what I'm talking about. If you haven't played Bastion yet, then do. One of the best games this generation.

C18. Favorite videogame related movie.

I really struggled with this one  I guess Silent Hill was alright to watch. And Resident Evil is ok too.

C1. Favourite videogame and why.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
There are several games that I can put in here with different reasons why, but off the top of my head I'm going with this one. The huge sense of exploration of different locales from modern urban to dusty desert to mountainous forest; the customization aspect with cars and character appearance; a pretty cool plot with the most likeable of the GTA protagonists (despite the player being able to do all sorts of crimes, the character's still generally portrayed as a "good" guy compared to his predecessors), and just being able to do all sorts of crazy crap like swim, drive boats, fight with swords and martial "marital" arts, fly planes, go parachuting/base jumping...and on a more personal note, the early '90s "gangsta" theme and California-inspired setting, which was like re-living my childhood/teen years' pop culture exposure. Also, minor things like a basketball mini-game, jetpacks, and the harrier jet mission were like the icing on the cake.

C2. Favourite current gaming platform (PS3, PC, Wii, 360) and why.
PC
I've been reluctant to openly say it, but I've been part of the "glorious master race" for the past couple of years now. The convenience of Steam and its sales, and being able to start up a game with only a few mouse clicks...compare that to my only current-gen console, the Wii, which requires booting up and actually moving my arms a bit more to play. Yeah, I'm lazy. :P Plus there's the general flexibility that comes with hardware upgrades and software mods, as well as what I once pegged as the console world's greatest strength--the games themselves--becoming a moot point with well-done PC ports showing up over the years.

C3. Favourite "dead" console (NES, Genesis) and why.
Nintendo Gamecube
Underrated platform with tons of classics. Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Metroid Prime series, Wrestlemania XIX (possibly my favorite WWE game of all time), F-Zero GX...plus I liked the small size of the machine itself. The controller was decent and I liked the intentions of its design, but quirks such as a painfully small d-pad, lack of another shoulder button opposite of the Z, non-clickable analog sticks, and poorly-placed/shaped B button all add up to prevent it from being truly awesome.

C4. You may take 3 videogame characters to Tokyo Disneyland to frolic around. Whom do you take and why?
Sonic the Hedgehog because in some of his games normally mundane settings were converted into crazy obstacle courses for his levels and I feel like the same would happen to the rides if he showed up. :P Cammy White (Street Fighter) because walking around next to that sexy leotard and set of legs would be awesome. Plus she could kick ass if someone messes with me or lines get too long. And Sora (Kingdom Hearts) because, hey, video game characters in a Disney setting? If something goes down we're gonna need someone to save us from those Heartless forces.

C5. The best song from any videogame.

It really captures the essence of both SoCal hip hop and the game's theme of cruising through the streets of Los Angeles as a rogue cop on the look out for thugs. I tried to avoid going with licensed music for this question but I do believe this is a game/soundtrack exclusive.

C27. Your favourite console generation and why.

Damn... well this one is pretty great and isn't even over yet. So many great new big series like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Portal, Batman AA/AC, Saints Row, Assassins Creed, Gears of War, Uncharted, Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, The Witcher etc etc (probably forgetting quite a few) I got a lot more into WRPGs this gen with Fallout 3, NV and Skyrim. Some great games in old favorite series Mario Galaxy, HL2/Orange Box, Call of Duty, SSF4. An explosion of great downloadable and indie games, DS and PSP games, iPhone/iPad games.

The only disappointments for me are maybe Kojima Pro and Rockstar haven't been as good for me as last generation but with GTA5, MGS: GZ and rising that could change quick.

Second would probably be SNES/Genesis. I got into gaming that gen and my friends and I used to plan our gaming purchases so we could share and get the most games possible.

C28. The videogame character you would take to a Haunted House.

Urdnot Wrex plus Garrus Vakarian

Ghosts ain't messin' with the ultimate bro squad.

C29. Your favourite developer (Valve, Bioware, Blizzard) and why.

Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Star Fox. I don't think anyone can beat Nintendo. Especially now that Sega is not even a shell of it's former self. :( Before 2003 or so it was Sega.

C30. Your favorite publisher (EA, Activision) and why.

SquareEnix has been struggling a bit as a developer but doing great as a publisher especially since they acquired Edios.

C31. Your least favorite developer.

I can't really hate on anyone off the top of my head.

C32. Your least favorite publisher.

Activision kinda seem like dicks. XD

C19. A music-related game (Guitar Hero, DDR, etc).

I think Guitar Hero because of how new it felt at the time. I was super into that game and it had the best soundtrack IMO. When you hit that final tier of songs, you knew you were in for a challenge. Bark At The Moon was a challenge from beginning to end. And you can't beat a bit of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Course these songs were extra difficult cause hammer ons and pull offs were less forgiving to do as well. Still, fun times.

C20. Favorite Zelda game.

Gotta be Ocarina of Time. One of the best games ever, Water Temple and all.

C21. Your favourite Final Fantasy game.

No FF game is perfect but FFXII came pretty damn close. FFVII had the nostalgia of my first FF game and FFVIII has the best story. But XII was special in that it was the most fun game to play out of all of them. Loved the combat and the 'monster hunting' aspect of the game. On top of that, I adore the setting of Ivalice and it's faux-Shakespearean dialogue. The sheer scale of the environments made it feel like a massive world that I couldn't get enough of exploring it. It could be better, the story doesn't maintain interest after the halfway mark and Vaan and Penelo are completely useless characters who don't contribute to the story after that point. And perhaps some mini-games in there would provide another distraction and more reasons to play that other FF games did so well with Triple Triad and Blitzball. But still, there's a reason I've put in more hours with this game than any other main FF title.

C22. Favorite car combat game.

I'll have to pass on this one and say the only thing I've played that comes close to this is Super Mario Kart
