A child’s wish [SayaMilky] A silent house owned by a family where no conversations are heard. No love, no happiness, nothing. A family of three, the greedy, the hurt and the emotionless only child, me, who wishes to travel back to the past where he sees laughter, happiness and love.
Shattered bottles of wine and alcohol, worn-up smelly clothes that has been laying down for I wonder how many days or months, and creepy crawlers whom stays with the family filled up the house. My room, filled with crumbled letters of ‘I wish for a happy family’, ‘I wish that my mother and father will love each other again’, etc.
A single word from any individual may cause chaos in the house. We communicate with the sadness, hatred and guilt shown in our eyes like daggers ready to stab you. Sometimes, the house is noisy and when it is, shouts of frustrations and the sounds of myself crying like there’s no tomorrow, are heard.
Sometimes, visitors visit our house. It could be either my grandparents who comes for money and go for years then comes back again- for money or women hookers my father met in a club.
When I was a kid, it was like a paradise to me. A happy family that loves each other and most of all, we forgive each other whenever a conflict came about. My life was filled with bright colours that gave me hope, love and joy but when conflicts came, all I see is grey. Unsure of what I should do with my life and my future but I still did my best to study as I had a great feeling that it will change my life.
My parents died unhappy in a car accident when I was 17. They died fighting with each other about money and got hit by a truck who is driven by a drunk driver. I witnessed it myself as I was inside the car too. I was the only one who survive and got my legs paralyzed. That moment was when I totally realize that I love my parents no matter what. I thought my life was over as I have nothing to do without my parents or legs but to wish that everything was back to the past where I see bright colours.
That remorseful part of my life was changed by someone, a beautiful young lady who brought bright colours back to my life again with her bright smile. She was totally annoying and I swear I almost thought of punching her in the face when I first met her.

flashback –
I thought it will just be another lonely day in my current home, the hospital, where I’ll be staying in for a year. It has been months and no one visited me even once ever since my stay until..
“Hiiiiiiiiiiiii~!! Watanabe Miyuki desu~~” a raven-haired woman in fashionable clothes slammed opened the door in my hospital room that gave me a heart-attacking shock. She looked at me and gave me a smile.
“Wrong room. Go away.” I said as I gave her a ‘shoo’ hand signal.
Miyuki took out a piece of paper from her jacket pocket. “Ehhh~ But the papers says that I have to go to room 207 and the door outside says 207.”
“Tsk.” I clicked my tongue in annoyance and looked away. This is my first visitor yet I don’t even know who the hell this person is.
“Nee~ I’ll be taking care of you from now on~ Isn’t it great!?” She said excitedly.
“…”
“Nee~ Can you walk?” She asked. I gave her a ‘you’ve got to be kidding’ look. Why would someone ask that if someone is sitting on a wheelchair.
“Some people in wheelchair can walk you know~” Miyuki said. I sighed in annoyance because of what she said.
“What’s your name?” Miyuki asked.
“You don’t have to know.” I said.
“Nee~ Tell me~~!!!” She asked with the most annoying voice I’ve ever heard in my life.
“No. Leave me alone.” I said as I roll my wheelchair to go outside to get rid of her but she got a hold of my wheelchair and stopped me.
Miyuki walked towards me and squatted in front of me, face to face.
“Why are you so cold to me?” she pouted for a while then smirked. She grabbed my both of my cheeks and pulled them in different directions. “You look better when you smile~”
I wanted to punch her in the face for pulling my cheeks but she’s a woman and men don’t punch women. That’s what my dead parents taught me when I was a kid.
“I’m doing a part-time job here and I was ordered to take care of you. Don’t worry, you’ll love me~!” Miyuki smiled and winked. “I~ke~men~!”
‘
Great now I’m stuck with this annoying part-timer for I don’t know how many months!’

End of flashback-
Miyuki annoyed me a lot during my hospital stay. Whenever I try to skip exercises to make my leg better, Miyuki will force me to go to exercises by carrying me to the wheelchair from the bed and rolling me to the exercise room. Sometimes, when I skip my meals, she will give me the creepiest stare I’ve ever seen in my life until I eat it.
Miyuki eventually get to know my name after she asked me about it several times and I blurted out my name in extreme annoyance. Ever since then, she called me by my first name. I also get to know about Watanabe Miyuki. Miyuki used to be the same as me. A sad and lonely person who lives alone in an apartment by herself. Her parents always fought with each other that she had to run away from them and she never heard of them ever since.
Miyuki will play a lot of pranks with me like running in the hallways while rolling my wheelchair and then she will let go of my wheelchair leaving me rolling down the hallways in a very fast speed. She would also stick letter on the back of my wheelchair like ‘they see me rolling, they hating’ or ‘rolling like a boss’. I’ve never been so annoyed in my life before. But to be honest, Miyuki made me feel alive without realising it.
Two months before I get to leave the hospital, I was already able to walk thanks to those exercises Miyuki forced me to go. I finally won’t be able to sit on a wheelchair again. She stayed with me overnight even though her part-time was only until 8pm when I got to walk again for the first time ever since the car crash. I felt in peace when she rested her head and arms on my stomach and slept. That was also the first time I smiled ever since my parents fought. Too bad for Miyuki, she didn’t see it. Ever since that day, I opened up to Miyuki more but she didn’t even see me smile yet.
On my last three days of stay in the hospital, Miyuki didn’t visit me in the hospital. I felt lonely and sad again. I missed Miyuki and I also realised that I love her, and that she fixed the wounds in my heart except there’s still scars that will stay there forever. I thought she stopped doing part-time in the hospital but she suddenly came to the hospital when I was about to leave.

Flashback-
“Miyuki.. I thought you’ll never come..” My body acted on its own and hugged Miyuki. I let her go as soon as I realised what I did.
“Ahh.. This is the first time you hugged me!” Miyuki smiled at me.
“S-Sorry didn’t mean to..” I said and scratch the back of my head.
Miyuki tip-toed and kissed me on the cheek which made me blush. “It’s okay~ I know love me anyways~!”
“H-Huh!? Who said so!?!?” I half-shouted as I blushed.
“It’s obvious~ Even if you don’t say it, your actions says so~ Love requires no words you know~” Miyuki blushed while smiling.
I smiled in embarrassment. “I knew it! You really look better when you smile~! I~ke~men~!” Miyuki pulled my cheeks again like she did the first time we met.

End of flashback-
Ever since my leave from the hospital, I stayed in Miyuki’s apartment and we started dating. I got myself a good decent job thanks to my hard work in studies last time even though I had a hard time because of my parents. For Miyuki, well, she became a nurse and she fixed her family problem after she found the courage to do it with my help.
-
Present/Now-
Miyuki and I are married and have a good decent house far away from home. Miyuki’s tummy is now big and round as a new member of a family is coming soon.
I walked to the living room with bowl of soups in my hands that I just cooked for lunch. Miyuki is sitting on a sofa in the living room and is smiling at her tummy while rubbing it.
“Lunch is ready~” I told Miyuki as I put the bowl of soups in a nearby coffee table. I pushed the coffee table nearer to Miyuki so that she would be able to eat comfortably. I sat beside Miyuki and kissed her on the lips.
“Can I touch it?” I asked Miyuki while looking at her tummy.
“Un!” She nodded.
I rubbed Miyuki’s tummy then kissed it. “Baby~ I won’t let you experience what we experience when your mommy and I was young okay? I promise you that.”
Miyuki giggled to what I whispered to our baby. I kissed Miyuki’s tummy first then kissed Miyuki in the lips. I now fulfilled my wish of a happy family with Miyuki. I won’t wish for a happy family now since I already got what I want and I’d rather do it instead of silently wishing.
