In the Shukan Bunshun released today, there is an article about me. It has brought a lot of inconvenience and trouble to members, fans and staff. As a 1st generation member I really should have been a better role model for younger members but what I did was very inconsiderate. I could not think of anything to do that would rectify the situation, so I shaved my head without consulting with members or my agent. I do not expect to be forgiven. In some ways, it's similar to what Sayaka Akimoto did: resign from being a captain because you hurt the image of the group (even though nothing happened). Miichan loves the group, she wants to stay a member and drops a rank.

However, this is quite extreme. In some ways, isn't she confessing to be guilty by taking measures into her own hands (i.e. cutting her hair without consulting anyone)? This could have just blown over like the Kana thing, yet she chose this route just to ensure she wouldn't get graduated.

Either way, that video was pretty painful to watch. I don't wish things like this on any of them.

Though I am not a fan of her, I still feel sorry for her. Some may says that that's the price of being an idol, you dun get your freedom for even your private life and your actions are answerable to the public . But I guess by seeing her getting punished won't make a sensible fan or even a bystander any happier. That's not the correct way to appease the fans. I believe many of us would rather see them truly happy in their own private life and have the freedom to do what they yearn for. Sigh.

First time I saw that article, I thought it'll be forgotten in a few days. Never thought it would become like this.
I admire her boldness in this. Feels so responsible as a senior member that when she fails at it, went so far as to shaving her head.

I guess we will see a record set at the 5th General Election, which is her being the highest-ranked Kenkyuusei (if until that event, she's still a Kenkyuusei).

All I can say is WTF?

Miichan knows how to get a reaction, that's for sure. There have been some interesting reactions to scandals but going GI Jane is definitely a new one. I feel bad that yet another awesome girl has fallen victim to this retarded idol rule, but it is a part of the industry regardless of how any one person may feel about it. Sucks, imo.

I dunno what they're going to do about the hair, but this could otherwise work to Minegishi's favor. She could easily become AKB's kenkyuusei goddess and create a whole new dynamic for fans to latch onto, similar to what Sasshi has done with her HKT move.

This might sound cheezy but I just wanted to tell you I have embraced many wonderful memories since I have found AKB48, but one of my memories that I admired most was watching you smile from afar and supporting you as a fan. Sometimes when I’m down, I don’t know if trying my best is worth it, but then I see you trying your hardest, facing your fears, watching you laugh with the rest of the AKB members and then I know it is. I admire how you overcome your challenges, how you create new moments in your life, that’s why I won’t tell you to try your best because you already are. Nobody’s perfect, but you don’t have to say your sorry, we won’t forgive you because there’s nothing to forgive, everybody makes mistakes. In your video when you said you were inconsiderate, selfish, a bad role model, you are none of those. Frankly you’re the opposite, you kind, gentle and only selfish when you want a hug from the members and kiss them. We are grateful for you sharing your thoughts, We also do not want you to leave!! And we cannot imagine AKB without you, our Miichan, all we can do as fans is to support you with whatever you make, and to me you’re still one of my oshimen. I’m sure everyone feels the same.
