Something to keep us in your mind.

Lore Behind the Story

To all the readers of O&E, thank you so much for all the support. O&E started out as a small idea and Char and I decided to blow it up. So far, it’s a fic with the biggest world here for the 48G fandom. I’m not sure if there are other fics that is as broad as ours but, please know this, there is more to the fic than what you have read so far. I’ll tell you all about the world the people in this fic live in, the people that live in it and the inspirations for this fic.

First of all, let’s start with the world that the people in this fic exist in. The setting of the fic is pretty much similar to Ancient Greece or the ancient world in general, before we discovered electricity and made us of it. I’m no history expert, so all I’m writing about these history stuff is based on stocked knowledge. Anyway, let’s continue. So imagine the world of O&E like Ancient Greece but without the actual Greeks. Well, they may be there but those are focused on human settlements and the people in this fic are hardly human. There are human settlements or villages scattered throughout the map, as well as some large cities but our people generally stay away from them unless necessary. Many parts of the map are undiscovered by human explorers, so if you’re human and live in O&E, you’ll have the ‘Known World’ (parts that have been discovered by humans and inhabited by them) and the ‘Unknown World’ (parts unexplored by humans). So imagine that kind of world, where science is very young and still very much reliant on simple philosophies, religion and basic technology with a little bit of magic.

Char and I pictured the map, not the world because it’s too big, to be separated in four parts. West is the forest area. Vast and unexplored forests and rainforests mainly dominating the area. The wildlife you can find here can range from a harmless rabbit to a troll lurking about. This is where most wildlife for O&E should exist in. The forest is also the domain of Namba and our beloved grumpy shewolf, Sayaka. Humans live near the edge of the forest that’s why many villages were attacked and also the first one that was attacked was the village Miyuki previously lived in. Her old house was close to the forest, a bit far from where most of villagers lived that’s why she was an easy scapegoat for any disaster that would hit the village. She was considered the oddity of the village, a recluse that residents run away from thinking that she was some sort of witch or monster. There was also that council member that hated her because she kept turning him down and took any chance to make Miyuki’s life miserable.

Opposite of Namba’s domain which is obviously east, is the desert. It’s how every desert is; hot, dry and sandy. Humans don’t live in the desert but near the edges of the desert. We’ve encountered two of those settlements. The first one was where Sayaka and Miyuki met with Yuka and the second one was on their return on the way to Namba. There are no humans that live inside the desert but there are human caravans that travel from settlement to settlement to deliver or trade goods. If they encounter caravans along the way they can stop for a day or two for some transactions. Speaking of transactions, not all of the goods being traded are legal. If you still remember how Kumi was found by her surrogate parents and from what she told Yuka. Kumi was originally a slave, to be exact she was supposed to be the late Futuotta’s sex slave. Fortunately, she was rescued from that fate. There was also the implied prostitution when Sayaka and Miyuki arrived in the village where they met Yuka, where Futuotta offered them to service his men and as usual, Yuka was there to save the day. The desert is also the home of Sakae’s shewolves. I’ll explain further about their culture a little later but I’ve answered some questions about them before and had been focused in the Sakae arc so they should be very familiar to you by now. The desert is also home to Sakae shewolves and our very own goofy Alpha, Nakanishi Yuka.

North of the map we have Akiba territory. The northern area is much colder and the closer you get to the Akiba territory the colder it gets. There are less human settlements there not only because of the cold climate but also because of the terrain which mostly consisted of mountains and valleys. Despite it having valleys which is usually a good source of game, the climate is far too cold for most animals to survive in. The mountains are covered in snow that would get thicker and heavier as you go higher. The climate is a perpetual winter, no matter what season it always snows but it does get a little warmer during summer still it won’t be enough to melt the snow. The resident shewolves here have adapted to the climate and with having little to no resources they’ve devised ways on how to survive the harsh environment. I’ll discuss more about them later.

Last but not least is the southern area or rather the southwest area of the map. The area is still comprised with forests and the same wildlife in Namba’s territory but less dense and has more rivers, lakes and other bodies of water than the rest of the map. The most interesting feature in this area are numerous waterfalls dotting the bodies of water. The tallest waterfall in the map is the home of Hakata pups and their den mother. Just like Namba most of it remains unexplored or protected by the resident shewolves.

The rest of the map is mostly made up of plains made up of different kinds of wildlife. The weather varies depending on the location of the map and season. By the way, we have four seasons. The storyline should be set around late summer making our way to early autumn. A lot of the environment that we imagined was a bit based off an old TV show. Well I imagined it to be a bit from the TV, not sure about Char but she started to watch the same show too so she knows what the hell I’m rambling about here. I would occasionally reblog about that show, so some of the people that follow my blog probably knows.

So now that I’ve explained the world O&E is set in, I do hope that you can picture a little bit of it in your minds especially when you back and reread the whole thing.

The next part I should talk about is the people that live in O&E. We primarily have humans, shewolves and maybe more (this is something that we have yet to decide on or add later). Kumi’s race, the kitsunes are not included because they’ve pretty much died off. If you still remember in one of the chapters, during Kumi and Yuka’s bonding ceremony. Kumi told Yuka that her race live for a very long time, the length of their lives depends on how many tails they had. Yes, tails. Kumi’s has tails and as for how many tails, it is still undecided. Also, Kumi explained that they were a lazy race, preferring to sleep, hunt and laze around all day and even sees mating as a chore. So, it’s a bit of a miracle how active Kumi is with Yuka but it’s mostly due to the bond they have. Because of the kitsunes’ laziness and being hunted for several reasons (fur, trophies, etc.) their race slowly dwindled and it is highly like that Kumi’s family was the last one.

I might as well talk about Kumi’s race then. How were they hunted down so easily because they were such a powerful race? We’ve seen what Kumi could so far, she brought back Sayaka from the dead and maybe a few lucky ones, more might happen along the way. So, the kitsunes are very powerful but the thing is they are peaceful, passive, refuses to use their abilities for arm and they also don’t know that humans are a threat because they don’t care about humans or know much about them at all. So, how did the other kitsunes not know about them being hunted? Remember, kitsunes are based off foxes and they are solitary predators unless they have kits with them. So, the news of them being hunted down, was not spread amongst the kitsunes and they were pretty easy to hunt down. I hope that clears up a little bit about Kumi’s race but let’s go back to the focal race of O&E, the shewolves.

The shewolves are not werewolves. Someone had mistaken to call them werewolves but they are not. Common werewolf lore says that they can only change forms during a full moon, humanoid in form and often during their transformations cannot control their bloodlust. Shewolves on the other hand can shift forms at will and look like real wolves when they do shift, only a bit bigger. The size of an adult shewolf should be is about 40 inches high on all fours, we’ve also described that when Sayaka is in her shifted form and sitting down with Miyuki standing next to her, Sayaka’s head should be near Miyuki’s bosoms. Hehe. Shewolves are quite larger than normal wolves in other words. Furthermore, they are much stronger than an average human male, an average shewolf can easily lift 154 lbs without making any effort and certain clans be much stronger than the others which I’ll explain further when discussing the clans. Since they are not werewolves, they are based on the okami, a type of yokai in Japanese folklore if I remember correctly. At the time when Char and I were hatching up O&E we didn’t know that Sayaka’s race was called okami cause we just can’t fucking remember what they were called. By the time someone (a reader actually) pointed out that Sayaka’s race was similar to okami, it was already too late to change it since we already had several chapters written already.

Now let’s continue talking about the shewolves, starting from the pups. Cause everyone loves pups. As you all know, Kumi is currently pregnant with Yuka’s rather pups. They are twins by the way and the names are still being discussed. The pups are born in human form with their ears and tails already there, their fangs and normal teeth aren’t there yet of course. The pups are already able to shift forms but can’t control it yet and anything can trigger the shift, even sneezing. If this happens while the pups need to be fed the mother can easily shift and feed them. However, that only works for couples that are both shewolves for the couples that are human and shewolf then they’ll have to try goad the pup to shifting again. The pups are unable to control their shifting until their second year when the ‘father’ starts teaching them how to control it. Their growth rate is the same as humans but the pregnancy lasts about six to seven months.

Hakata is where most pups are found and the reason for that is that most of them are orphans. At this time there are a lot of orphans due to the war in Sakae, either because their parents had passed away from a skirmish or unable to raise their pup due the circumstances in Sakae. There’s also untold sidestory about Yuka rescuing orphaned pups and sending them to Hakata to be taken care of, this happened before the Unification War. At that time Sakae was in no shape to raise their pups and let’s not forget Rena’s own efforts in taking in those orphans too but instead of sending them to Hakata, her army took care of them. Her reputation made her unable to send them to Hakata and decided to raise them like her own. Fortunately, she made sure that those pups did not see any kind of bloodshed. Another reason why there are so many pups in Hakata is because of the water in their territory. The waters of Hakata are blessed by Ohori, goddess of family, children or pups and fertility. Her blessing on the waters, made sure that the pups are healthy and protected at all times.

Let me talk a little more about Hakata. As I’ve said earlier, Hakata is where most pups are and the only fully grown adults shewolf there is their caretaker, their den mother. First of all, they have a communal culture; they share what they with each other as well as most of their activities. Their home is found near the tallest waterfall in the area. They live in longhouses wherein several members can stay in and one reserved for eating. Since they are near a water source, they simply take their baths by the waterfall or a river nearby. With all of those pups waddling about and tripping over nothing, someone of course has to take care of them; the den mother.

The den mother, just as the name suggests is the surrogate mother of the pups, as their surrogate parent she not only cares for them but also teaches them the things that they need to know. There can only be one den mother at a time, she is selected by all the leaders of each clan (Sakae’s participation in this is still questionable because of their lack in having any type of leader before the Unification war) either by vote or debating who fits the best as the caretaker of the pups. It’s very important that they consider who Hakata’s den mother is because for the shewolves, the pups are considered the greatest treasure for the shewolves. A pup’s life is blissful and pampered until they reach a certain age where they need to go on a walkabout.

The walkabout is an important part of every shewolf’s life, this marks the time that they are ready to embrace adulthood. In one of the chapters that followed the Unification War, Yuka explained to Kumi what a walkabout is which then led to them doing something else other than talking, if you’d like you can go back and read that part. It’s where Yuka acted like a complete brute and tossed off all the stuff she had on her work table just to do Kumi. Anyway, the walkabout is a period where in a shewolf starts to search for their purpose in life, they leave their homes and try to find their place in the world. Yuka’s walkabout was fairly easy, her purpose in life was to protect and nurture. She found Jurina and took her in, fulfilling her need on her walkabout and there is also her taking care of her own caravan. In a way, Yuka had been fulfilling more than her walkabout required her to do. Another example of a walkabout is from the shewolves from Namba. Sayaka, Kei, Nana, Akari, Aina and Maachun were pups from Hakata. Since they all grow up together and are close friends, it’s natural for them to start their walkabout together. We all know where they ended up, of course.

If a shewolf is unable to fulfill their walkabout’s need then they will keep roaming and searching, there will be times that they might not be able to fulfill it all and might end up with a rogue pack. This is how the fifth and unofficial clan started, the rogue packs. Not much is known about them other than that they are volatile, hard to deal with and the other clans shun them for their violent tendencies.

The next topic is also something very important for a shewolf’s life which happens. Their mate and the bond with their mate. For a shewolf they can only have one mate for one lifetime, they cannot choose their mates and how it is decided is unknown. In a chapter probably somewhere before the Unification War and it might have been Sayaka who explained; there had been attempts to find out how a shewolf finds their mate or what qualities a shewolf tries to find for a mate. All of these attempts failed.

There are a myriad of ways on how a shewolf knows that they have found their mate, for Sayaka it took her a while to realized it because she’s an idiot and Yuka seem to know it already because she’s not idiot or maybe she is(she has her dumb moments). One thing for sure, is that when a shewolf sets their eyes on their mate for the first time they would feel the invisible bond for their mate pulling them and urging them towards their mate. The bond also urges both mates to get along well or procreate with their mate, it does not force feelings of affection on an individual but rather fuels the existing feelings of affection. That’s why Miyuki was able to accept Sayaka quite easily despite Sayaka’s deception and not being human. It’s the same for Rena and Jurina, they are switching between trying to tear eachother’s head off to giving their mate a mindblowing kiss. Their feelings for each other exist but the hate is still there and the bond is doing it’s best to make sure that they get along well.

Since a shewolf can only have one mate per lifetime they cannot choose another or love another, instead they die with their mate. For example, one of the pairs that have been mentioned in O&E is Ogiso Shiori and Kinoshita Yukiko, they are bondmates and mates for life. If either one of them dies then the other would follow after, commonly by suicide. A shewolf cannot live without their mate and the bond that they have formed with their mate dictates it. However, this situation only happens if both are shewolves. It’s a bit different when it comes to unions of different races like human-shewolf and, as of recent, kitsune-shewolf. For a human-shewolf union, if their human partner dies then they would follow after their mate but if the shewolf dies there is a chance that the the human might live on or not (most of the time they don’t that’s why Sayaka made Miyuki promise that she’ll live on for her). Kumi and Yuka’s union is a conundrum since such a union has never happened before but if Kumi does pass away, Yuka will follow after her mate. I’m not sure if it will be the same for Kumi or not.

Please note that even when shewolves only have one mate per lifetime they can still fall in love with anyone else as long it happens before they find their mate. The bond does not make the shewolves incapable to fall in love but for them every singlel person that fall in love with is something they truly treasure. If you still remember from one of Namba’s chapter, Nana and Aina (whom I just casually killed off) that they had obviously loved each other very much but when Aina was killed Nana did not follow her. They loved each other very much but they were not mates or soulmates.

That should be what you need to know about mating and bonding. The next part is the best part and is related to the waters of Hakata or rather Ohori’s blessing. As I mentioned earlier, Ohori is the goddess of family, children/pups and fertility. Her blessing let’s bondmates start their own family. Normally, if both members of the couple are female they will be unable to conceive a child but with Ohori’s blessing on the waters of Hakata they are able to. There’s a specific method on triggering the blessing and Hakata’s den mother knows how to perform the… ritual or something to trigger the blessing. So, one of the criteria’s to being selected as Hakata’s den mother is to be one of Ohori’s priestesses. Bondmates don’t always choose to get the blessing because the process can be a bit hard on the ‘father’ of the pair since the ritual can be long and the rules are very rigid in giving away the blessing, thus the bondmates can choose to adopt instead of make their own pup. There a lot of pups in Hakata waiting for adoption and if you wish to adopt one or a dozen please do so. Make a lonely pup happy today.

That should cover the important aspects of a shewolf’s life, the rest will discovered while reading the fic. This is so fucking long by the way.

The next topic is more focused on the clans, I’ve explained Hakata already without giving away any spoilers so let’s move on the first clan that you were all introduced to; Sakae.

Sakae’s territory is the whole desert in the east, despite having humans roaming around with their own caravans. They live a nomadic life, roaming the dunes to either trade or survive. With humans in their territory, Sakae shewolves have learned how to hide their ears and tail as well as learn how to interact with them. Amongst all the clans, Sakae is the one that used to being around humans and the most sociable. Because of the amount of time they spend mingling with humans, they had learned to embrace certain human customs like the use of weapons instead of going in barehanded in a battle like their Namba counterparts, wearing human clothing or using their currency which was mentioned in one of the older chapters post Unification War and where Yuka asked Kumi to get on her desk. Human-shewolf unions are also more common in Sakae compared to the other clans that have little to no contact with humans.

Prior to the Unification War, Sakae had no leader due to the Matsuis trying to fight over on who can rule and the difficulty of control hundreds of caravans at a time. However, long before the Matsuis started their own feud there was an attempt to have Sakae rule under one leader. Kuwabara Mizuki had tried it but had obviously failed, due to the lack of having any support other than Yuka. Yes, Yuka. There was an unwritten backstory between Kuwabara and Yuka, they were friends long before Yuka had her own caravan, this happened near the time Yuka found Jurina and completed her walkabout. When Kuwabara expressed her wish to unite all of Sakae under one leadership, Yuka did her best to support her but she wasn’t enough. It was why Yuka had been distraught when Kuwabara suddenly disappeared and when the idea of taking her missing friend’s place as Sakae’s leader was proposed, Yuka had ran away thus leaving Jurina. At this time the Sato sisters (who had been Yuka’s support ever since running away) were aware of the situation but knew that there was nothing much they could do with Yuka too scared to face the same fate as Kuwabara did. I wanted to write this down during the Sakae arc but I don’t enjoy writing flashbacks.

You all know the events that followed after it and the new government that had been established by Yuka and her companions. Originally, Sakae had only been a large group of caravans, minding their own business with no leader to unite them all, as mentioned before Kuwabara had tried and failed, Yuka refused the leadership at first in fear then the Matsuis started their feud. The current government in Sakae is technically a monarchy now with Yuka, Kumi and their pups making up the royal family, Sato sisters as Yuka’s advisors, Jurina as Yuka’s general (making her the head of the royal guard and such with Rena advising Jurina) and the caravan leaders making up the high council. It’s more or less stable than and much better than Kuwabara soloing all the responsibilities of running Sakae.

The clothing and lifestyle for Sakae is highly inspired by the nomads of Beja and Pakistan (I’m aware that Pakistan is no longer a nomad dominated country but there are still groups there that maintain that lifestyle).

Being a Sakae born shewolf has it’s own innate perks, they have better survivability because of living in the desert for so long. To them the heat is nothing and they don’t mind spending time under the sun for long periods of time. Besides their survivability, Sakae’s shewolves are more familiar with waging battles due to the conflict that they’ve had for several years thus they are more familiar in strategic planning which is one of the reasons (other reason are their numbers) why Sayaka needed their help. Sakae shewolves also value their privacy very much that’s why the bonding ceremony only had the couple participating and later on the family of the couple. Having a party after their bonding ceremony wasn’t something Yuka and Kumi planned but they let it happen because they all needed to let out some tension after the Unification War. There had been instances where Yuka would brag about her and Kumi’s exploits but that’s just to piss Sayaka off.

Last thing to cover about Sakae is the bonding ceremony which is one of the highlights of the Sakae arc, the other highlights are the smut scenes, the Unification War and of course, Sayaka’s death (I really enjoyed writing that part, I’m still waiting on everyone else’s thoughts on that particular event). To Sakae the bonding is a private moment for the soon to be bonded couple, the time they spent together working the mehndi is a time for them to get to know each other more and solidify their relationship. The mehndi is a way to do that, if you do a quick search on what the mehndi is the ink is actually temporary but i made some changes on how the mehndi is applied. The mehndi is the shewolf equivalent to a wedding rings for humans, it’s a symbol of  their bond. The first layer of the mehndi is the henna, the couple can decide what kind of design they would want to make. The intricacy of the design symbolizes the hardships they will encounter throughout their life and the darkness of the ink symbolizes the strength of their bond, the deeper the color the stronger their bond is.

With their relationship strengthened through the time they spent together, it would the couple’s family turn to finish the mehndi. The family of the couple will finish the mehndi, adding the final design as well as adding the layer of permanent ink to it. Just as what happened to Yuka and Kumi’s bonding ceremony, the family of their in-laws took their time to get to know one of the couple or give them their wishes (warnings). With the mehndi finished and the bonding of the couple recognized by the families the bonding ceremony finishes.

That should be everything that you need to know about Sakae, the Nomadic shewolves or as we original used to call them the Sakae Fire Clan.

The next clan is Namba, located in the western part of the map with their territory comprising of forests. Just like being a Sakae shewolf, there are perks to being a Namba shewolf. I stated before that an average shewolf is much stronger than average human male but if one is a Namba born shewolf they are much stronger than any other shewolf. We’ve witnessed Sayaka lift things (namely Miyuki) effortlessly and even punch people without breaking a sweat. As those that live in the forest, Namba shewolves protect all those that dwell in it except for the ones that try to kill them (namely trolls or bandits). From Sayaka’s background, her parents had protected a human settlement within the forest from rogues which resulted to their death and Sayaka being sent to Hakata.

Compared to Sakae shewolves, Namba shewolves are more open in sharing their exploits in the bedroom, they don’t brag or tell every dirty details that’s Kei’s habit but it is normal to hear someone scream in ecstasy in the middle of the night or see someone walk out of their house in the morning reeking of sex. Amongst friends they would brag who would be best in pleasing their mate which would then end up as a challenge to try and make their scream as loud as possible.

Namba shewolves live a semi-communal lifestyle, they share their food with each other and always look for game in groups. If any of the hunting groups finds food they would share it to the rest of the clan to feed everyone else, of course if more than one group finds game the better. In the early chapters of introducing Namba this lifestyle was a bit hard to apply due to them being in exile and moving to their ancestors home which used to live differently in the past. Other than their food, Namba also has shared baths. They have a large bathhouse for everyone to use, utilizing the hot springs that came from the mountain or a nearby water source. It’s in the bathhouse where shewolves would share their exploits amongst their friends though sometimes a few would be a bit too loud in doing so. As some of you may have noticed, Sayaka doesn’t seem to be too eager to share but that’s because she’s more disciplined or strict compared to the other shewolves, just give her a jug of mead and she will share everything.

I think this should be everything you need to know about Namba for now. A lot of things about Namba will be revealed in the later chapters as we progress with the story.

The image I had for Namba is very similar to how the Amazons were protrayed in Hercules and Xena Warrior Princess. So, just think of the members walking around in Amazon skimpy amazon armor made of leather.

The last clan that you should all know about is Akiba. Their territory located at the northern area of the map, the coldest region filled with high mountains and steep valleys. Because of the harsh weather and lack of resources Akiba shewolves have adapted and discovered ways to survive. This is where their quality of ingenuity and tenacity comes from. Without any resources or anything much to trade with the other clans Akiba has learned to use the waters of Hakata (which had become a favorite thing to use by Kumi and Yuka) as their main source of income as well as the precious stones that they can find from the caves. They also tend to be very lucky that’s why they can find precious stones quite easily.

To most shewolves they are known to be recluses, especially to humans and have little to no contact with the humans and fellow shewolves. The only time that they would ever venture out of their territory would be to trade (their elixir with the shewolves and the gems with the humans) or sniff out some news. With Hakata, they trade whatever game they can hunt in return for barrels and barrels of their waters since most of the pups are not old enough to hunt and the den mother is happy that her job at feeding the pups is a little easier.

For Sakae and Namba the leadership goes to the Alpha but for Akiba the leadership goes to the Kamis which consist of seven members. They function as a council, discussing plans and making decisions together all for the good of their clan. Not much is known about them and their identities are obscured even to most members of Akiba. The role of the Kamis and who the Kamis will be is still being deliberated between me and Char. You’ll later on find out who they in the chapters that introduces Akiba. For now, this is all you need to know about all the four clans and the rest shall be revealed as we write more chapters.

As to how this fic came to be, well one day Char and I just happen to be on TC at the same time after that I don’t really remember much but there was definitely a lot of planning. The idea of O&E started out with small scenes that we liked and would ‘yaaaaaaaaaaaas’ over. It wasn’t long into the chat that we started to make up ‘headcanons’ for each group, focusing mostly on Hakata because of the puppies. Some of you may have noticed that or may not have noticed at all, the parallel between the real 48G and the clans in O&E. We started a bit of research by watching any documentary about wolves we could find, the most prominent one I could remember watching was the story of the Black Wolf or the Casanova. That wolf was the inspiration for Sayaka’s appearance and the current main plot of O&E too. At the same time, we started to write the early beginnings of O&E Once we were able to understand how a wolf pack works and how the wolves seriously love puppies (they really really love puppies), we started to form more headcanons about O&E which is what you all are reading now.

That should be everything you need to know about O&E. I didn’t mean to make it this long but it just happens that there are a lot of things to write about O&E. We’re still writing more chapters and if you have any question feel free to ask me or Char.
Don't mind me.
Just here.
Reading and or Writing.

Woww, that sure was long hahaha~  XD
Not that I'm complaining or anything, the more the merrier!!

Thanks for revealing all kinds of this back info for us readers, making it even more realistic. The O&E world really is vast and ... vast. Lol. It have a lot of details so I appreciate you guys writing it out.  :thumbsup

And while you guys are writing more chapters, we readers are dying for a chapter!  Hahahah, please update soon~  :D

Oh I forgot to ask this question, is there only one den mother in Hakata?  A person alone couldn't possibly look after hundreds of pups, or could she? Are there any helpers? I really want to know.

I look forward to hearing from you guys again~~!
Loving AKB48 everyday~

You two are amazing, This Fic is Amazing, and I really love and appreciate you two actually posted up this information on the fic. For me personally, this makes me a lot easier t imagine the whole scene of the fiction world you two created when I read the chapters.

If there is such thing as "BEST 48G FANFIC AWARD IN THE PLANET", I think this one should be considered as a nominee. No kidding, I'm in love with this even know it doesn't have any of my oshimen (so far) showing in it.

So yeah, thank you so much~ And please I will be waiting for you this fic to be out of hiatus!

Yes, there is only one den mother in Hakata. It is difficult and nearly impossible to look after all the pups but please note that the selection for the den mother is something deliberated by all the clans carefully. The den mother had to be someone that can take all the pressure, stress and as well as serve the goddess at the same time. There are helpers of course but they are unofficial.

I'm glad you enjoyed reading this, thank you for the support. :D

Outcast and the Exiled Chapter 26
« Reply #269 on: January 23, 2015, 11:04:37 PM »
Chapter 26:

“So this is what a clan looks like.” Yui hummed to herself, as she watched wolf after wolf wander around Sakae’s part of the camp. She wasn’t really sure what she could do, but she enjoyed being treated as a guest. The shewolves that she would approach, smiled at graciously, not the least bit curious on what a human was wandering around here. She hadn’t seen Paru in a while, and she was actively looking for the shewolf, but it shouldn’t be so hard to spot a frowning wolf.

Glancing into a tent, something caught her eye. A rare, and exotic herb she’s only seen in a books. Looking around, she didn’t see anyone inside, or even around the tent. Taking the chance to get a better look, Yui snuck into the tent.

The herb was just sitting there, carefully planted in a clay pot along with sheets of notes that she couldn’t read, but she had seen the text before, from a book she found and Paru translated for her on medical procedures. Skipping past the book, she was tempted to reach out and touch the important plant, but opted not too. Any mishandling could ruin it and it would be her fault. She was curious, but not stupid to forget her protocols in handling medical supplies.

Glancing around the tent, she noticed more supplies, whoever’s tent this was seemed know what they’re doing. Some of the equipment she saw were completely different from the one’s she used and Yui recalled the time Paru had explained to her that her people were stronger than humans. It takes more than just a precise cut of a scalpel or a skilled pierce of a needle to treat their bodies, it takes a stronger metal and the only thing she owned that was made of the same thing was her scalpel. The same one she used to fix Sayaka’s stitches back then.

“Hello? Are you lost?”

The voice startled her out of her musings, making her jump and turn around, Yui threw her hands into the air. “I didn’t touch anything I swear!”

The shewolf’s face morphed from confusion to amusement. “I know you didn’t.” Realization came onto her face, as she realized the female before her was the human medic they recently picked up.

“What brought you here? My collection of herbs?”

“Yes! I was just passing by, and I spotted this beauty. How did you find it?” Yui asked curiously, seeing that the shewolf wasn’t upset at her invading her personal quarters. “Oh I’m being rude, Yokoyama Yui.” She held her hand for the shewolf to take.

Smiling at the greeting, Yuuko took and shook her hand. “Kinoshita Yukiko, I’m from Sakae if you can guess from my robes. I’ve seen you around quite a bit and heard a little bit about you, but its finally a pleasure to hold a conversation with you.”

“T-Thank you. It’s nice speaking to someone into the same things as me.”

“I know the feeling, my mate tunes me out once I start talking about medical things, she prefers hunting and tracking. Please take a seat, I have a feeling that we have a lot of things to talk about.”

Taking a deep breath, Sayaka prepared to enter a certain hut, she found out from Kei that Nana hadn’t been seen outside her quarters since they fled to this area of land.

Walking in, she spotted the older shewolf, sitting on a bed, just starting out the window despite the fact that there was nothing to see, other than the empty sky. Sayaka could see how underweight she was, her cheekbones and ribs could be seen from this far. She was completely different from what Sayaka remembered as if the… thing in front of her was a husk of her friend.

"Nana." The Alpha announced her presence to her friend.

Nana turned around, and Sayaka could peer into her lifeless brown eyes. “They took her from me.” The broken shewolf spoke, her voice barely higher than a whisper. “I never,” She hiccupped, tears forming in her eyes. Any thought or whisper of ‘her’ brought tears to Nana’s eye. “I never got to tell her my feelings.”

Seeing her friend in this state broke Sayaka’s heart. Nana is usually a happy caring person, she’d think of other people’s needs first before her own just as she had taken care of them long ago. Despite being the eldest of them all she can be a bit silly and childish, her jokes always fail, but it was her way of making people around her happy.

She wasn’t sure what to do now but she slowly approached Nana and sat down next to her. She listened to the sobs coming from Nana, not knowing what to do and each sob that she heard sent a stab of guilt to her heart.

If she had come sooner she could have saved Aina from being executed, spared Nana from this pain and ended all this. It also made her feel useless that she couldn’t do anything for Nana, she was no good at comforting people. Her hands were made to punch and ask questions later, not to nurture and care like Nana can naturally do.

Minutes and maybe even hours passed, before Nana’s sobs slowly faded and an oppressive silence took over the room.

“Sayaka…” Nana called out, her voice lacking the usual cheery tone to it. It brought a chill down Sayaka’s spine at how cold and dead Nana sounded.

Sayaka turned to look at her friend and instead of seeing grief in her friend’s eyes what she saw made her heart beat faster from fear. There was no warmth or any affection coming from Nana’s eyes, instead there was only anger and something that Sayaka feared, a thirst for vengeance.

“Sayaka, can you promise me something?” Nana asked, looking straight into her friend’s eyes.

The other shewolf swallowed nervously, she already didn’t like where this was going. She failed in trying to comfort her friend already because she didn’t know how to and it seems her failure had resulted to her friend going to a void that she never imagined Nana would ever be in.

“Nana, I do-”

“Hear me out.” The elder shewolf interrupted, her hand coming up to hold Sayaka’s and squeezing it tightly.

For a moment Sayaka thought that Nana might not want vengeance and hope bloomed in her heart that maybe she hadn’t lost her friend yet that Nana was still her usual self, jumping back from whatever dark thoughts she had swirling in her head. But that hope didn’t last when she felt Nana’s nails dig into her hand, strong enough to draw blood.

“Promise me that you’ll kill them all.” Nana said and Sayaka wanted to cry out when she saw the light in her friend’s eyes die a little more with each word she heard but was speechless to say anything. “And bring me back that bitch’s head. I won’t give her peace, even in death.”

Sayaka held back a gasp, what Nana was asking for was against all their laws and traditions. In Namba their funeral rites had the deceased cremated in a pyre and their ashes spread in the forest, as their last contribution in protecting the forest. To complete the right the body has to be intact, if not they would not be able to achieve peace with their souls roaming the mortal plane, searching for the missing part of their body. Even if the last part was found, there was nothing their soul can do and will be unable to enter the Eternal Hunting Grounds, their version of heaven to humans.

“Do it for me and for Aina.” Nana persisted, her grip on Sayaka’s hand getting tighter, showing the natural strength that she rarely used.

“I promise.” Sayaka nodded reluctantly, the words she said leaving a bitter aftertaste.

Nana’s hand slowly let go of Sayaka’s, leaving crescent shaped cuts behind. The marks left behind were nothing compared to what the shewolf before her was experiencing, her physical wounds were temporary, but Nana’s emotional ones were beyond healing. Sayaka could only pray she doesn’t become more corrupt as time goes by.

Kumi shifted around, looking for her favorite source of warmth, but found that there was nothing there. Opening her eyes and sitting up, the kitsune frowned, as she rubbed her stomach. She was cold, hungry, and mad.

As if sensing her mate’s distress, Yuka came into the tent a moment later. “I’m sorry you woke up without me, but something came up.” She explained, as she struggled to catch her breath, she ran back from her task, only to hear her mate shifting about. Yuka honestly didn’t expect her mate to wake up without her.

Kumi’s frown deepens at the excuse, before crossing her arms over her chest. Giving her mate a glare, she remembered Yuka’s punishment. Getting up slowly, she walked past the confused shewolf, and digged around in one of her bags, feeling a familiar leather object, she pulled it out.

Yuka couldn’t see what get mate was looking for, and approached her, about to offer her services to her, but stopped, as the kitsune turned around. It felt like someone had walked on her grave when she saw the thing Kumi was holding.

Before she could protest, the leather collar was around her neck. Kumi leaned in, as she tugged on the well adjusted binding. “If I catch you with this off, you can say goodbye to our late night fun.”

A low sound came from Yuka’s throat at the threat, it was a mix of a groan and a whimper, and either way expressed her displeasure and… excitement perfectly. Seeing Yuka’s defiance die down, brought back the dominating feeling to Kumi, as she licked her lips. A small throb beginning to form between her legs.

Sensing her mate’s sudden change, Yuka noticed that Kumi’s orange iris were small slits, something that only happens when she was aroused. She gulped audibly at what her mate was planning to do to her.

Kumi dragged her bondmate towards their bed, using the collar to pull her mate after her. She regretted a bit not buying the leash that came along with it but this would work for now. Her shewolf might still need a bit of time to be broken in before moving on to other things. When they were close enough to their bed, the kitsune pushed Yuka down to sit on the edge of it.

Yuka did not question her mate’s motives nor did make any protest at being pushed around. She’d experienced one of her mate’s moodswings already and was terrified on how her mate would react if she tried to resist. Even though she felt afraid she was still excited on what her kitsune will do next, she was usually the dominant one and was the one that would manhandle Kumi around which the kitsune didn’t seem to mind at all.

In fact there was one instance that Kumi had purposely asked the shewolf to do whatever she wanted to her and just take pleasure in using the kitsune’s body. Yuka had been worried at her mate’s request but seeing the hurt look on Kumi’s face at being rejected made her change her mind and was pleasantly surprised when Kumi really enjoyed it. She still remembered how ears were still ringing from Kumi’s screaming.

The kitsune straddled Yuka’s lap and when the shewolf tried to put her hands on Kumi’s hips but they were batted away. She pinned them on Yuka’s sides, using her knees to hold them down.

“Where have you been?” Kumi asked, snaking her hands under the shewolf’s robes and raking her nails down Yuka’s stomach. Her nails had become a little bit sharper since her transformation and loved the way it would leave red welts on the shewolf’s skin.

Kumi’s hands moved behind Yuka’s back and started to leave her marks there, digging her nails in hard enough just to leave marks. “Tell me, where have you been?”

Yuka swallowed nervously. “I was at a meeting. I had to talk to Sayaka and the others what our plans are.”

“And what were your plans?” Kumi asked in feigned interest. Her hands moved out of Yuka’s robe and tangled her fingers in Yuka’s hair, pulling back the shewolf’s head before pressing her lips against Yuka’s neck.

“We plan to siege Sayaka’s home in three days. We made plans on how to send out some scouts…” Kumi tuned out anything else that Yuka was going to say and focused on what she was doing.

While her mouth was busy peppering the shewolf’s neck with bites and kisses, her hands started to undo her bondmate’s robes. She was about to undo the last to tie to Yuka’s robe when an idea struck her. It was something that she’d thought not long ago and this was a perfect chance to try it.

She stood up from Yuka’s lap, surprising the shewolf from the sudden action but didn’t say anything to stop the kitsune. The shewolf watched curiously at her mate look for something around their room and her her eyes widened when she saw Kumi pick up a familiar case then pick it out a vial from it.

“Um… Kumi?” Yuka called out a little nervously.

She still remembered the first night they’d used it, the unforgettable feeling of being inside her mate and the several hours they spent with it. Yuka was looking forward to being to use it again but she didn’t think that it’d be this soon.

Kumi walked back to Yuka and took her place on the shewolf’s lap again. The vial the kitsune had in her hand was larger and the liquid inside was a little darker. From what Seira had made her listen to, the effects of this vial would last longer than the previous one she and Kumi used. The number six on it was also quite foreboding.

The kitsune tugged the shewolf forward with her robes, kissing her bondmate deeply before pulling away and uncapping the vial. “Open your mouth.”

Yuka obliged, allowing Kumi to pour the contents of the vial into her mouth and the last thing she felt before passing out again was Kumi’s hands slipping her robes off of her.

Enjoying her conversion with the Sakae shewolf, Yui lost track of time, and before she knew it another shewolf came, and nearly bit her head off for staying so long. Yukko was kind enough to explain the situation to her mate, but Ogiso still didn’t trust her. The scout kept giving her the stink eye, even going as far as growling at her.

The human Doctor took that as her sign to leave. She’d forgotten how territorial shewolves were with their mates, Paru didn’t have any issues with anyone at the village because everyone knew in the village that Yui would also choose her work over any lover. Until Paru came and still the villagers still had the same assumption. When Sayaka and Miyuki visited her shewolf didn’t even show any signs of territorial instinct.

She probably had a feeling that they were bonded.

Humming a song that her caretaker used to sing when she was smaller, she wandered her way back to her tent. Surprisingly Paru was waiting for her, a deep frown on her face, her tail flicking behind her, a sure sign that she wasn’t in a happy mood.

Swallowing nervously, Yui opened her mouth. “Uh-“

"Where were you?" The shewolf interrupted, before the Doctor could say anything.

"I was talking to this wolf from Sakae, she’s a medic for them and she had rare herbs…" Yui went on, talking about Yukko, but all Paru registered was her mate with someone else. An unknown shewolf caught her mate’s attention.

The shewolf didn’t like that at all.

Standing, she moved gracefully to the human who was still running her mouth, and grabbed her by the front of her shirt, and silenced her with a bruising kiss.

Yui was too surprised to respond, but that didn’t stop Paru, as she gripped her mate’s wrist and brought it up to her face, breaking the kiss, she pressed her lips possessively to the mark she made on it.

"H-haruka." Yui stuttered it out her mate’s true name, one she rarely used.

The use if her real name sent a tingle down her spine, the shewolf still didn’t respond verbally, but instead allowed her fangs to sink into the skin, the soft gasp she got was well worth it.

"You’re mine. " She growled into the skin, before nipping harder. Yui was unable to do anything. Her mate, as rare as it was, was showing off her extremely jealous side, it also didn’t help the fact that Yukko’s scent was on Yui’s clothes. The shewolf wanted to tear them off.

In fact, she might just do so.

Leaving Yui’s mark, she growled softly her eyes flashing, before starting to roughly remove her mate’s clothing, almost tearing them off.

It wasn’t until Yui was in her pants, with her shirt half way of her body before the human finally reacted. “What’s wrong?” She asked stopping Paru’s hands, usually she didn’t mind when her wolf wanted sex, but this time felt different.

Yui asked again, but still got no reply. Sighing, she tugged Paru by the hand and lead them to their bed. If her wolf wanted to be taken care of, she would do so. Sitting down, Yui pulled her mate onto her lap both of her hands resting on her waist.

Paru’s tense body started to relax a bit, but her breathing started to pick up a bit, as salty as she was, being completely surrounded by the human caused a warmth to bloom between her legs.

"I don’t know what I did wrong , but I’ll make it up to you." The human mumbled into Paru’s neck before peppering soft kisses there.

Sluggishly returning to her temporary hut, Sayaka sighed, before entering. She noticed her mate poking at the fire she made in the pit, and on the table was the leftovers of the doe she caught a ways back. Hearing footsteps, Miyuki looked back, before smiling, but it soon faded, as she saw the stressed out look on the wolf’s face.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, standing up, and approaching the shewolf.

Sayaka opened her arms to her mate, who entered the embrace. Wrapping her arms around her mate’s waist, she let out a shaky exhale. “It’s Nana, she asked something impossible of me…and I agreed.” She spoke softly, the bitter taste in her mouth returning. “I’ve.. I’ve never seen her like that before, she’s usually goofy and sweet, but what I saw..” The shewolf trailed off, burying her face into her mate’s hair.

Miyuki held onto her wolf tighter, whatever happened with her friend must of really shocked her. “I won’t ask for anything else, if you wish to tell me, then you can. I’m sorry for the change that happened to her.”

Sayaka shook her head. “No, it’s my fault this happened, if only I came back sooner, I could of prevented Aina’s death!” She exclaimed, her voice cracking a bit. Everything that was happening was starting to hit her, people were dying, getting hurt, losing loved ones, and she was powerless against it.

She felt like a pup all over again. Small, powerless, and afraid.

The human rubbed Sayaka’s back, as she felt her shewolf starting to tremble in her arms. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen her like this.’ She noticed, a moment later, she felt something wet and warm landing on her. Sayaka was crying, her sobs muffled by the fact she was biting her lip.

Miyuki felt her heart break, her strong shewolf was hurting, and she couldn’t do anything but hold her. Telling her everything was going to be alright would only be false hope, as she couldn’t see into the future.

“Shhh, let it all out. You’ll feel better.” Miyuki cooed softly, patting her mate’s back, as the embrace tightened, Sayaka’s crying only getting a bit heavier.

Stepping back a bit, Miyuki lead them to their bed, and helped her shewolf onto it, their embrace never breaking, but at least when Sayaka was done, she could fall asleep. The two remained in the position, the shewolf showing no signs of calming down right away.

All Miyuki could do was constantly pat her back and run her hands through her hair, occasionally rubbing the back of the wolf’s ears. Sayaka was shivering as her pent up emotions slipped out of her in the form of tears. She was frustrated at the fact that she was useless, she couldn’t even convey her emotions verbally, and was reduced to her current state.

The human noticed moments later that the shewolf passed out, to tired to do anything else. The wolf cuddled closer to Miyuki, whimpering in her sleep. Waiting until the shewolf was in a deep slumber, Miyuki carefully untangled herself from her grasp, making sure to put a pillow in her place for now.

She continued with her previous task of cooking, she wanted something that wouldn’t need her constant watching, so we opted to make a stew. She also has a small loaf of bread she got from the Sakae wagon, when they were handing out supplies to those who wanted to cook for their loved ones. She placed that aside, along with some vegetables she acquired from Yui’s village. Wiping her knife clean, she began slicing the extra ingredients carefully, all the time in Sakae, and not cooking made her a bit rusty, and she didn’t want to hurt herself on such an easy task.

Moving the slices into the pot, she placed it back onto the fire, before adding a bit more salt. Once sure that the pot would be fine on its own, she slipped back onto the bed with her wolf, not wanting to leave the shewolf alone. She watched as Sayaka relaxed in her embrace, once she returned to her arms. The human pressed a kiss to her mate’s forehead.

Yui sighed as she looked down at her mate, the shewolf was sleeping peacefully on her chest. Her fuzzy ears twitching adorably. Usually the Doctor to would be asleep after a few rounds of lovemaking, but she was worried.

Even though she got the shewolf to confess what was on her mind tonight, she still had many questions. The main one concerning Akiba and what to expect once they go there. If they ever go there, Paru would shut down every single attempt she would make to talk about Akiba or even suggest going there.

'Will they accept us?' Yui wondered, as she ran her fingers through the wolf's short brown locks. 'What if I'm not good enough for her?'

The thought of being away from the shewolf worried her, she loved Paru, no one else makes her feel this way. A few memories of when she was courting the wolf came to mind. All the effort she put in, and when it did coaxed a reaction from her, it made her day.

"Go to sleep…" Paru muttered, gently squeezing her mate. Breaking the human of her flashbacks. Slowly exhaling, Yui cuddled her face into shewolf’s hair before allowing sleep to take her.

Okay... so after like two whole months of waiting FINALLY!!! I can't say that I didn't see that coming from nana. I mean I get her and everything. But I'm kinda conflicted if I want Sayaka to actually fulfill Nana's wish.

Also thank you for this! I needed to see my Yukko in here

Now this side of Kumi I like very much....

DOMINANT KUMI FOR THE WINNNNNNNN. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Seriously i liekd the yuiparu scene here. I mean they don't PDA much like sayamilky and nishikumi, so this made me extremely happy.

In fact, she might just do so.

oh and about this one.....

Quote
'Will they accept us?' Yui wondered, as she ran her fingers through the wolf's short brown locks. 'What if I'm not good enough for her?'

Am I asking too much if I wanted a happy ending for YuiParu?

All in all, Thank you frands for the marvelous update, every update is worth the wait.

BLESS YOU SEI AND CHAR :shakeit: :shakeit: :shakeit:

A very excellent way to make a comeback, YuiParu at last! :D

and I hope Nana will recover from her heartbreak in the next chapters.

I'm quite curious on what Paru's role in Akiba and why she doesn't want to talk about it. That'll probably where yuiparu's drama will start.

Anyways, Welcome back and I will patiently wait for the next update  :shakeit:

It's really sad to see Sayaka cry like that.
Milky is really amazing here... Very supportive and understanding.

YuiParu moments are cute. :cathappy:

Woah!

All these comments are so welcoming.

Yes, we are back, and stuff is about to get so real in the next upcoming chapters.

@deguchi: There is a bit more of YuiParu coming, since it seems to be pretty popular. Who knows we might even go to Akiba....-coughs at the possible foreshadowing-

@Kirozoro: Ahhh Poor Nana indeed, but don't worry. I'm sure she'll find a light to guide her out of the darkness.

@Kairi65: You'll see in later chapters how much the promise is worrying Sayanee. Who knows, will she be able to do it?

@Rinca: Thanks for reading, frand. Your comment is always welcomed and loved. A lot more is coming, so wait for it! :D

@kahineechan: It would of been a longer wait, if I didn't bring it up. So be grateful. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, and Dominate Kumi will always be a nice thing. Ask Nishi herself. Will YuiParu have a good ending? I'll consider it.

@Naoru_chan: That child? You lost me...

@akibastar: Ahaha gotta come back with a bang! Paru is pretty important, and her role has something to do with how nervous she is to possibly be returning, not that im confirming it will happen, cause you know: Reasons

@phoenix0i: Even the strongest of people will cry for their loved ones, and Milky only did what she was supposed to. It hurt to write that scene, but it was needed.

Next Chapter in T-Minus 4 days.

Don't mind me.
Just here.
Reading and or Writing.
