It's all one in the same but I had to tell you know so the chapter would make a little more sense. Atleast you all learnt something
The rain kept Maki awake. It had drizzled in the afternoon and by about sunset the clouds had opened up letting the cascade of water fall down on the many districts that made up Tokyo. It was now after 4am and there was no sign of it stopping. To be totally blunt - Maki was bored. Only recently moving back into the Mo-musu apartments meant that a majority of her things were still at her parents house. She had no Tv, no MD, no nothing. Only her clothes, some kitchen supplies and a closet full of soft drink. Ultimately boring.
Reina was bored too. She had meditated for an hour, did some yoga, stretched, emailed her friends and was now running low on things to do. It was nearly a full moon so she blamed her restless behaviour on that. The full moon has strange effects on the way act. Outside in the hallway came a noise, Reina was overwhelmed the joy at the idea that someone might be awake too. She pressed her ear to the door. There was a muffled yet long squealing noise followed by a click. Reina opened her door a crack in order to investigate this intriging sound. Three doors down sat Maki on the floor pulling pieces of sticky tape off the roll and them around the edges of the door. Her height only let her tape the doorframe so she stood on tippytoes, jumping to get the top of the frame. Reina still wasnt sure what exactly was being stuck to the frame of the door. She leant out to get a better look. That's what gave her away.
Maki frooze like a possum found with a flashlight. Her eyes were big, round and full of shock. It soon melted away to a relieved grin.
"Oh, its only you" Maki sighed.
Reina didnt know whether to be offended or not. She stepped out into the hallway with curiousity.
"Can you give me a hand?" Maki asked, trying to bite the tape with her teeth.
Reina crept over to Maki not really with the intention to help but more so to see what on earth she was doing. Over the door frame was a near invisible layer of gladwrap. She wouldnt have seen it if the hall lights werent on.
"Get on my shoudlers"
Maki crouched down infront of Reina, prompting her to climb aboard. With their combine height Reina was now able to fastly secure the top of the door with gladwrap, finishing Maki's prankster masterpiece.
"And now we play the waiting game..." She giggled, tugging Reina into a corner where they waited for an unsuspecting Takahashi.
Rising time for some was around 5 or 6 o'clock. There was a false alarm when I zombie like Miki stumbled out of her room and across the hall which startled them but apart from that there was not much movement. Showtime came at twenty minutes to six when Takahashi's door opened and....Nacchi walked out, straight into the gladwrap before either could stop her. She hung there for a moment in a pose that resembled that of Han Solo from Star Wars. Maki lowered her phone (she had recorded the whole thing) and dashed away with her accomplice. If they were found out, there would be hell to pay for.
Both girls collapsed in a fit of laughter on the floor of Reina room. Maki found it most hilarious and played the moment back over and over again on her phone. Reina however found herself looking elsewhere, there was something new she hadnt seen in Maki and now more than ever it was shinning through. It was something she couldnt quiet explain although one day, maybe, she would be able. What ever it was that she saw made her lean over and kiss Maki for the first time. Just once. Softly on the lips.
First kisses do taste like lemon.
