Ayumikurikamaki (あゆみくりかまき) is a Japanese idol group formed in January 2012. They were formerly known as Kurikamaki (くりかまき). It currently consists of 3 members: singer Ayumi, DJ Kurika, and hype-woman Maki. As you might have guessed, the name of the idol unit, Ayumikurikamaki, comes from the names of each girl. The members wear cute bear costumes on stage. They have one costume for the summer, and another one for the winter. Their fans are called Matagi (またぎ).

Maki and Kurika met in high school. Kurikamaki made their debut in May 2012 at Shibuya Womb in Tokyo. The idols participate regularly in various live events such as Tokyo Idol Festival as DJ. Kurikamaki released their 1st single Analog Ma Girl (アナログマガール) in August 2013. The girls host the TV variety show Saku Saku airing on TVK since March 2014. Ayumi joined the idol unit as a new member and vocalist in May 2014. After this arrival, Kurikamaki changed their name to Ayumikurikamaki. - J-Pop Idols

In May 2014, they started an activity as ”AYUMIKURIKAMAKI”.
In that year July 22 (Tue),they released their first single “Jet kumastar” that recorded the Oricon chart rank 5th in the first appearance.

2014 summer, they performed at many outdoor festivals including "ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL", "SUMMER SONIC" (Tokyo and Osaka), "SUNBURST", and "TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL" .

AYUMIKURIKAMAKI held their event "尊敬という名のGIG" VoL.1 Vol.2 Vol.3, and all performances tickets were sold out.

In a comic magazine "YOUNG GANGAN", a comics series "kuma flavor" that they appear as a main character has started.

Their major debut single "鮭鮭鮭" released in March 4 (Wed) recorded the Oricon weekly chart rank 11th.

And furthermore, their major 2nd single "蜜蜜蜜" which was selected to an ending theme song of a FNN noitaminA animation "PUNCH LINE" is scheduled to be released in June 24 (Wed).

In 2015 September 20(Sun),they will hold their one-man live event "ボクらの熊魂2015 〜汗と感動の涙でデトックス編〜".

They appear on "saku saku" music information tv program of "tvk" every day. - Official Website

Ah, the bears. I like them. They do some of the best idol performances and shows I know of.
And as they happened to be the second idol group I actually saw and met in the beginning of my interest for idols, they always have a special place in my heart.
I anticipate their album and hope for a good live recording on BluRay soon (forgot to buy their single with One Man live in it )

I myself first heard about them during my music video searches and found Kuma Jet Star (around when it came out). I thought it was fun video and as it may already be obvious I favor rock music and their music seemed ok to me. Now it wasn't really until the Honey Honey Honey single came out that I really got into them (due to how epic the song Killla Tune is to me). Also since that song came out, I've been using the following video as an example to show people of the "idol music" I'm into since their performances and crowd interactions are a lot different to say a 48 or Hello! Project idol. Also a good example of a rock idols with an active crowd that isn't completely turning into a "complete debacle" or "utter chaos". Although, I'm fine with that too since that's kind of how crowds are like at rock shows here(crowd surfing, mosh pits, etc). So I'm already used to seeing that kind of stuff. But yeah, their crowd interactions, while lively, are a bit more controlled. Also that's pretty much the main reason I bought their last single when I noticed it came with a blu-ray of a live. Considering how much I used their performances as an example, I figured I needed this in my life . . .

I don't know, I liked this song . . . also they still perform this song with Ayumi and some of the other songs from when they were only 2 members (it's on the one man Live blu-ray) so it's not like they completely abandoned this style yet.

I liked the bear concept but found it exaggerated that they had to wear it ALL THE TIME. If their music continues being great, I don't mind.

Same, it was cute but I don't really care much about what they wear.

My concern is not so much based on what they are wearing than the fact that their group theme/marketing was so centered around the fact they were bears that it just seems a little weird that they're not bears anymore.
