I don't put much stock in those gossip stories either. It sounds scandalous when you hear one story by itself, but when you take it in the context of all the other rumors that are written every other week about all the girls, then you realize that the same gossip stories are being recycled over and over again. This month it's Konno, last month it was Takahashi, before that it was Ishikawa, and so on. But if you don't hear the gossip about the other girls, then Konkon gets labeled the bad egg. That's why you sometimes have to be suspicious of who is circulating these rumors. There are a-holes like over at JPM who do it just to bash her.
Besides, time has already proven these tabloid stories are bullshit. They said she wasn't serious about going to school, but we know that obviously wasn't true. They said she was seen all over Tokyo dating one Johnny after another, but the only source for the story turned out to be something someone wrote on his blog. They also reported that she was going to stab H!P in the back by writing a tell all column for a magazine, but that never happened. Plus, UF has never reacted like there was a scandal. As we've seen with Mari, Miki, and Megumi, UF likes to take care of scandals right away. If Konkon was really involved in something bad, UF could've graduated her during the Rainbow 7 tour. Why wait another 4 months to graduate her and give the tabloids plenty of time to blow the story? And after she graduated, why didn't the company try to distance themselves from her if she was so scandal ridden? Instead they kept associating themselves with her by showing clips of her on HM, letting the girls talk about her on their radio shows, allowing her to post updates about her university acceptance on their website, and bringing her back for the winter H!P concert. Not to mention that they released and pimped more product involving Konkon after she graduated than what Risa used to get in a normal year. Instead of getting the boot, it looks more like she got the royal treatment if you ask me.
