Oh don't worry about that. I can't tell you how many times I've gone too fast and driven off track in Forza. Then there's other times where I go too slow and the other cars can overtake me.

If it helps, try not to brake whilst going into a corner, brake before even entering and lay off the acceleration whilst turning, then when you're exiting it, put the pedal to the metal! I haven't seen the cars slide all over the track whilst driving straight though. Maybe it's your controller? What game was it you were playing in anyway? Cause if it is Forza then if you damage the front of the car, you face the risk of it instintively turning left or right, even if you're going straight. I don't think GT has damage modelling, so that's why I'm asking.

EBC, Gran Turismo always has an elaborate licence section, in which you learn when to brake, which lines to take through corners, how to speed up when exiting a corner etc.. It really helps to improve your skills, so perhaps you could check it out if you're having trouble with the game.

About the controls, for racing games I never use the sticks! I'm probably one of the very few who doesn't use the sticks (sticks meaning L3/R3 on the PS controller

. The great thing about GT4 is that the buttons itself are analog. If you press the x-button lightly, you won't get full throttle. Same with the brakes. The great thing about this system is that you can have great car control and keep a steady pace trough corners.

Good news and Bad news.

Bad News: I got a call today. The shop said they had Metal Gear Solid 4 already, so I was gonna get my new PS3 and MGS a day early!

...basic quotes follow...

Me: Hey, I got a call. Gimme'.

Seller: No probs. But You must buy the PS3 with any game, just not MGS4. Sorry, just carrying orders from above.

Me: OK. I was always interested in Jonh Woo's Stranglehold. It comes with a movie anyways. bonus~

Seller: Cool. Here's your 2 great games and your PS3.
Me: Wait... this ain't the special version with the extra documentary we talked about on the phone.

Seller: Oh... you'll need to wait till tomorrow before we get that.

Don't worry, we'll hold it for you!

Me: ok..... thanks....

And so I leave with a PS3 and a game I wasn't planning on buying, AFTER holding MGS4 in my hands... and waving goodbye to the big stack of MGS4s on the side.

Good News: I can move all my stuff away to place the non-conveniently-shaped PS3 on top of, funnily enough, my PS2!

Also got compensation leave on Friday so I get 2 to 3 totally free days.

^ Lucky devil! Seems like the PS3 has it's big seller with MGS4. Makes me want one anyway. Anyway, enjoy your time with MGS4! I saw a video of a boss fight against Laughing Octopus which looked pretty sweet.

Yay. Got the version with the extra making B-Rdvd, worth the wait. I haven't looked at that cover closely enough before, so it freaks me out now (you'll know what I mean).
The game manual gets 10/10 from me. all manuals should be made like that.

No spoilers here.

Finished MGS4 a few days ago. Great characters, great graphics, great sound, great gameplay and a detailed story to tie up all those loose ends.
Too bad the ending made me fall to sleep! I just didn't like all those 'graphical briefings' they made throughout the game. It was like a person reading one page of a dictionary over and over. And it was from the voices of characters you cared about...

if it's too heavy for fans like me, i can only guess how casual gamers felt when going through that information overload.

Doing my 2nd playthrough now. and trying to make a no continue, no health item, no killing, under 5 hour game. Suddenly, it feels much more MGS now. Won't go for the impossible big boss emblems and stuff though, looks too hard.
In my 1st playthrough, I was gunning and doing headshots like crazy, which doesn't feel very 'action stealth espionagy~'. It felt more like counterstrike.

Final word: There should be more Akina Minami pics all over the place. Don't tell me 'world locations wouldn't have that stuff in real life' bull****. She's pasted on walls in eastern europe! (actually, maybe that is a fact... um...

).
I want bikini girl posters and movies on all stages... on projectors... and codec briefings!

(which we all know, was the best part of MGS2

).

Finally recieve my PS3 from Wal-Mart yesterday(The free $100 Gift Card Sold me)

I had played several games before but first off it was very hard to get the hang of. The controls are very hard at first but I got used to them, then the little extra stuff like CQC and buying the right weapon just got even more complicated. But overall it blew my mind. Still in Act 1 <_<, but I like to kill people for fun even though it might hurt me later on(MGS3) <_<

OK. Kojima made me eat my words.

For some of the mission briefings, you can find a TV remote on top of a box (it's found between the conference TV and the bed). Try stunning it with Mk. II/III's arm.

You can also try the same on the radio, upstairs. Too bad the PS3 can't be turned on and play MGS or something, that would've made it really weird...

On a side-note, the MGS4 site is updated with a history and making section. Which confirms the eggs are real (they had better not have wasted those).

One egg I found that was really weird was a Liquid flashback when you kill a lot of people. Something about "We onlly exist to kill" or something like it during the cutscene ontop of Rex in MGS.

Or playing certian music on the Ipod makes soldiers go crazy

Bought Soul Calibur IV yesterday (and NDS FF IV... wow, so many part 4's!). Think it came out here a week ago...

Played around 7 hours of it.

Starting with a vader vs vader match, of course. Neither of us could play right and just kept mashing the buttons. Normally the one with the longer weapon won...

Went on to story mode. felt too short/easy.

Got 3 secret characters not on the character select board, but placed in a section you go in after selecting the top-right "star card" in the corner of character select board.

Tower of Souls. Got to around 17/F and stuck playing there. Felt overpowered by the PC. Maybe cos I still suck.

Went to character creation.
Edited Mitsurugi into a blonde sailor guy.

And created a staff-weilding girl which looks like DOA's Ayane.

Arcade mode. Started to feel challenging near the 6th-8th fight. Unlocked apprentice.

Did Tower of Souls again and tried getting some of the treasures.

my main guys or girls are Apprentice, XiangHua, Talim and Mitsurugi. But Mitsurigi is hella cheap in the game imo. Maxi is just too gay. Gotta edit him into Bruce Lee
