This is true! They also have released Resident Evil: Director's Cut. It is nice to see PSN getting some love.

Yeah, I saw it on PS store after Sony's e3 thing.

The thing is Japan has more great games on their PS store and had them for a while, like FF Tactics. Release that here bitches!

Ya know, the only FF game that I never personally finished was FF7. I have the Japanese version but I'm not sure if I can understand enough Japanese to appreciate the story. This will give me an alternative ^_^ yay

Hey, a price cut and a new form-factor for the PS3!! The new slim is certainly compelling: smaller, quieter and more power efficient. A quiet running is always a big plus in my book. Looks like the slim will have everything the predecessor 'fat' has, except Linux support. That might give me pause. So I am just wondering off hand. Does the PS3 Linux have a video player that can play .mkv files and softsubs? If that's true I might try snatching a 'fat' before they are all gone.

playstation home is a free DL feature from PS. it's kinda like THE SIMS where you make your guy and u walk around in this virtual world with your own apartment and what not. Resident Evil home is like an area where all RE fans hang out in this virtual world and talk about RE or play RE together. There's a lot of other homes for other PLAYSTATION GAMES.

Sure i'd only have like, 2 games in total by now instead of the stupid amount I have on 360, but I could use any controller I wanted instead of of shelling out for increasingly exspensive stupid half broken controllers I can't even use... so I might be a little bit happier...lol

The only thing I don't like about ps3 is that there's no VGA converter, so I can't hook it up to a LCD monitor. If someone can prove me wrong I will gladly buy a ps3 slim!

There are 3rd party converters - mostly from China.

I got one for the PS2 and it worked fine.

radioshack or the source sells converters for these kind of stuff. u can just buy a hdmi cable and hook it up directly from your ps3 to ur lcd monitor (if you monitor supports hdmi) if not, im pretty sure you can find converters at geeky places

I'm thinking about buying a PS3, but I wonder which one is the better deal.
First off, if I buy a and GB model, can I change the HDD? Would any SATA HDD for computer work on a PS3? Also I don't know anything about third party OS, but does that mean I can install Windows /Vista/7 on PS3 and Slim? What's the purpose of 3rd-party OS on a PS3?
I'm thinking about buying the PS3 Slim, but before that, I wanna know the deal with that 3rd-Party OS, since Slim does not have that option, so I would know which one is better for me? Also, they say it backward-compatible, so does it mean ALL PS2 games would work? how about accessories like PS2 controller and Memory card?

Yeah they take laptop sized (2.5") SATA drives. You can get big ones pretty cheap.
The 3rd party OS is just Linux.
You can't put Windows on it but then again you wouldn't want to it'd run too slow cause PS3 doesn't have much RAM. Which I still don't understand, when RAM is so cheap they could just load consoles with RAM and solve many problems limiting today's HD games.
