The Departed (2006).

Engaging remake by Martin Scorsese, duplicating almost everything from the Hong Kong original but lending his own personal flavor: mood, dialogue and especially the soundtrack.  Deserving of its many Academy Award-winning  hardware.

Live Free or Die Hard

I haven't seen the other Die Hard films so I don't have a benchmark for comparison. But it was a good movie, one of the better ones I've seen for this year.

John McClane is unbreakable :pimp:

Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones

I didn't watch the whole movie, just mainly jumped to all the battle scenes.

The Phantom of The Opera (1989 version) - 5/10

I honestly have no clue what to make of this movie, it was so good and so bad at the same time.

Good:
1.) Robert Englund was so great, it's like he was born for the role. What a cool actor!
2.) I really like the actress who played Christine! I like the way they portrayed the character. Christine never struck me as an idiot, she just seemed innocent and fragile (that's youth, I suppose). It really irks me when they make her seem like a helpless idiot. It doesn't hurt that she looks like a cute version of Winona Ryder, either.
3.) Okay, I could go on and on talking about how much I liked the casting. So let's just count the rest of the cast as another good point!
4.) Music! I like the fact that it wasn't a musical and accurately portrayed an opera (for once, in cinematic history!)
5.) It managed to gross me out in certain parts. I'm really hard to freak out, but this movie managed to make me look away!
6.) Decent writing  :w00t: Erik got all the awesome lines  XD

Bad:
1.) Um, so why was Satan in the form of a midget who had a bunch of prostitutes with him?
2.) It seemed like they were trying to take all the romance out of the story. I've always thought of Phantom as being a gothic love story, but it was like the makers set out to make it as violent as possible.
3.) I really missed the romantic aspect so I'm going to complain about it twice  :tama-mad: You can't have Erik and Christine without any real love!

I watched Kramer vs. Kramer with Meryl Streep and Dustin Hoffman last night and I LOVED it. There was just something so endearing about Hoffman's character and Meryl Streep is always amazing no matter what she does. Plus the whole "social commentary" about gender roles was done wonderfully without being too radical and annoying (And probably more relevant during the 80's, when the movie was actually made). Yay for single dads... especially if they are Dustin Hoffman.

Gekijouban Bleach: Memories of Nobody

Not to bad of a movie, plenty of the expected action from Bleach.
