The Dark Knight - 10/10

Best movie I've seen this year, and I thought I wouldn't say that after No Country For Old Men. Everything about it was what I wanted and more. Naturally the best parts came with the Joker. I think the highest compliment I could give to Heath Ledger's performance, is that he was completely unrecognisible. For me, he was the Joker and always will be.

Watched Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay today.
The craziest in this movie was golden, IMO. XD

Also watched Hancock again, seeing as I finally got a very good copy of it, R5 ftw. :thumbsup

And for like the umpteenth time, I watched Star Wars II: Attack Of The Clones.

Die Hard 4.0 - 7/10

Decent enough action flick. Maggie Q was hot.

Evil

It wasn't at all what I expected from the trailer I saw a while back, but really I liked it.

Johny got his gun 1000000000000000/10

OMFG THIS MOVIE IS FUCKEN AWESOME! EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH IT! I cried so much! It was just.... so touching.... and I love how it deals with the concept of loneliness...and feeling all alone... I found this film very touching..... and loved it.... and it inspired this new story I am working on so no one steal my idea XD I am calling it "Hitomi got her gun" but it wont be much like the movie, the title is just a metaphor/allusion to the actual movie :D

and some trivia: Extracts from this movie were used in a video clip called "One" by.... crap who was it again? Oh yes, only Mettalica :D

Natural City

Visually this movie is absolutely stunning, but the characters are rather 2-dimensional and especially the main protagonist R is more annoying than anything, I couldn't relate to him and his "love" for Ria at all.

The mummy tomb of dragon emperor

I enjoyed it but it's got nothing on the previous 2 movies :( too many forced jokes, predictable plot, etc.

Gaki-san 大好き!

Vantage Point - 6/10

Decent enough thriller with an interesting narrative on how the story unfolds. But nothing else to shout home about.

Musa - the warrior
it was ok, but I wouldn't watch it a second time

Shadowless Sword
boring, I zoned out after 45 min. or so

The Descent
pretty intense, nothing for claustrophopics, I liked the ending

Thanks, being a huge Metallica fan, I've been meaning to watch this movie for years, but never got around to it, until you jogged my memory.. And it was fuckin' great!!
:extra trivia: Instead of trying to buy the rights to use pieces of the movie in their video clip, Metallica bought the movie outright..

The Dark Knight (2008).
Murky, creepy times for Gotham.  Looking forward to utter chaos in chapter three of this particular saga.  Fair chance that Ledger gets the posthumous Academy Award™ (almost certain to get a Supporting nomination).

So, who else is gonna know Bruce Wayne is The Batman?

*** 1/2 (out of ****).

High and Low (1963).
Mifune Toshiro, Nakadai Tatsuya, Yamazaki Tsutomu
Dir. Kurosawa Akira

I haven't seen the Kurosawa classics that take place in modern (i.e. 20th century) times and decided to start with this one, a detailed crime/detective story.  Always interesting to see a movie set in 1960s Japan, be it Kurosawa, Gojira or Bond.  Good movie to see, if only to see how a widescreen movie (2.35:1) should be composed.

****.

You don't mess with the Zohan

To my surprise I found this movie very amusing. I don't like Adam Sandler and "below-the-waist-humor" isn't usually my cup of tea, but this movie had some good laughs.
Also I really liked the music a lot, sadly there's no soundtrack.
The songs from the western artists are easy to find on the net, but I have a hard time finding all that eastern music.
