For the record I have read all of the translations (and visited Maki's blog site to ensure she gets the hits...and to see the pics she draws and the look of the actual posts [where I have no clue what is written] :scratch ).

Your translations are greatly appreciated (by me and many others I am sure). I have expressed my feedback when I had something mildly interesting to say (at least IMHO)...and you have done an awesome job!

Maybe no one says "thanks" for all your time and effort...but you deserve it. Hopefully Maki will write more things that we will be able to discuss as fans on this thread and the thread will get back on track (and get off this detour from the theme with all the speculation).

This is a great thread...and the Maki Blog is a rare experience for us to know a little bit more about her from a more intimate personal level.

^ I am just feeling a tag disappointed by the lukewarm response. It's the same people that will post as always (not just this thread, but in general). I am not after praises or thank yous, but rather, I want to listen to more opinions and such. Always great to listen to a different view or thoughts!!

You did say that you are lost with the translataions and I am wondering if that was the general consensus....I am probabably doing a bad job of the translations then. Orz

Hmm. I guess I should fess up and say that I greatly, GREATLY appreciate the time and energy you put into translating Maki's blog. I always visit the actual blog and since reading your translations, the little doodles that she draws make more sense. I think that this is an amazing chance to get to understand Gocchin a little better and that without you, romi, I think a lot of people, myself included, would miss out.

So, discussing the actual blog entries isn't too much to ask. I'll make a point to try to express what I think about what is said and written. That way, there will be some discussion and you'll understand that you're not wasting your time.

I want to make known my appreciation once again to romi for the hard work in translating and creating a discussion thread for Gocchins blog.

I always anticipate each of Maki's entries as well as romi's wonderful translations so that I can better understand them! I guess I'm just a little shy about my comments unless I really get fired up about something.

I'll try to be more of a participant in sharing my thoughts and I'll encourage everyone else to do the same.

I am an idiot...

....I totally typed that wrong....I wanted to write I am lost without the translations i.e. you are doing a great job and without your help I would never be able to appreciate Gocchin's blog.

No point in editing my previous post now that I have made that clarification. romi, You must have been able to tell from my past posts and that of others that you are really doing us all a great service...please don't be discouraged we need your on-going translation skillz....do you think I could ever figure out Gocchin language on my own?...hell no!

OK now back to the Maki blog topic:

What was she trying to tell us from that last picture that the had drawn the one with the "x' on the tummy? I know it has something to do with her not eating and being hungry. Poor girl is always getting caught up in work and neglecting herself needs.

Maybe someone else gets a different message fromt the picture...we'll just have to wait for the translation to get the true meaning (romi always comes though for us...too kind

).

There was also quite a few hearts at the end of that last blog post. We love you too Gocchin!

[back to 28 Sep entry] It's funny to hear that even Gocchin arrived home and called for her pets but not even one response her

may be they all sleepy ... and Goten is the name of her dog or her cat?? I think it's the name of one cartoon character from dragonball z, right??

and today .. she's only updated one entry only. She must be busy today

but at least she still mentioned what she ate for today

(how cute ..

) I'm now start to think if there any entries that she didn't mention anything about food

???

This has to be my fave entry so far!^^ I love how she says even though she's "been around for a while" she still feels nervous... That's the kawaii Gocchin we know and love!

I also thought it was really cute how she couldn't believe it when she watched the SBT PV for the first time^^ LOL It's really endearing to me that she doesn't seem to see herself as a "sex symbol" or "sexy," at least in an exaggerated way, like she said^^

Also, I liked that bit you added at the end about her using the Shibuya Gyaru language, romi^^ I would love to hear an audio clip of her saying "San Kyu"!

I can just imagine Maki with her mouth agape watching the PV. :lmao:

It's funny that she laughed too because even though it's sexy, I found it somewhat Tongue-in-cheek. It's cool to see Gocchin saw it the same way.

LOL That dancing was pretty wacky... I didn't much care for the dance as much as Gocchin in her sexy outfits^~

And Shibuya Gyaru language is part of the kogal fashion trend popular with girls in Shibuya (naturally^^) Here's a little definition from wikipedia.com:

"They are characterized by conspicuously displaying their disposable income through distinctive tastes in fashion, music, and social activity. In general, the kogal "look" roughly approximates a sun-tanned California Valley girl, and indeed, the similarities between the two extend to the linguistic, for both subcultures have derived entire sets of slang terms (????? "ko-gyaru-go"). Kogals are not to be confused with the ganguro subculture, although they are similar."

I'm actually kind of relieved that Maki thought the PV was exaggerated. And I laughed when it said she watched with her mouth open. Its good to see that she doesn't take her sexiness too seriously. In fact, it does seem like she thought of it as a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. I'm not so worried about her next move in the entertainment world. Not that I ever was....

Another post another refernece to food...."Onion and egg mix soup"...she likes it so I'd be willing to try it..and...the "Persimmon" dessert...now that sounds oishi!

I get the feeling when reading this post that she was very relaxed...overall it is very light and playful...other posts gave the impression that she was working too hard and was a bit run down from not gettting enough rest and food. Actually she says that she is feeling a little energectic and it really comes across in her writing.

Interesting to read her comments on the PV. Anyone who is one her blog site and has not seen the PV will surely be checking it out after her comments...she did good job of describing the video, and her reaction in a way to peak people's curiosity.
