Hamaguchi made a guest appearance on Fuji TV's 'Waratte Iitomo!'. At the beginning of the program, he declared, "I am dating her!" Then as his partner Arino Shinya (42) raised his left hand, he repeated "I am dating her" with a smile.

A picture of Hamaguchi and Minami was published in the tabloid magazine 'Josei Seven' which was released the same morning. According to the magazine, the two went to Hamaguchi's home together after having a "yakiniku date" in Tokyo.

Minami also wrote on her blog, "I, Minami Akina, am dating Yoiko's Hamaguchi Masaru-san. I will continue to work hard so please support me." Hamaguchi is known for his previous relationships with Ogura Yuko (30) and Kurashina Kana (26). This time, his relationship has an 18-year age gap.

On October 19, talento Minami Akina (25) appeared on NTV's program 'Gyouretsu no Dekiru Houritsu Soudansho' (roughly translated as 'Very Popular Legal Information Centers') where she refuted rumors of plastic surgery.

Recently, pictures of Minami from her elementary, intermediate, and high school graduation albums have surfaced on the internet. She was told by friends that there were comments on pictures saying, "Her face is completely different," and "She definitely got plastic surgery."

When the show's host Miyasako Hiroyuki mentioned the rumor, Minami completely refuted it saying, "I haven't done it, I haven't!"

Minami talked about how she is troubled that people are uploading photos without permission, and have revealed her alma mater, which had been undisclosed all this time. She asked the group of lawyers on the show if she can receive consolation money for such a thing. Due to a violation of personality rights and invasion of privacy, lawyers Kikuchi Yukio and Kitamura Haruo replied that she can demand 500,000 yen and 300,000 yen, respectively. Upon hearing this, Minami said, "I'm surprised that I can get consolation money for it."
